C’mon now, this is starting to get really silly. The source could be practically anyone. It might not even be a hacker at all. What about a disenchanted pro-Bernie DNC IT-support techie? Getting everyone in a lather over putative Russian hackers would provide the perfect cover.
It is worth remembering that despite all the noise about “hacking”, a tremendous quantity of WikiLeaks’ material is obtained the good old-fashioned espionage way: by outright theft, i.e., by having someone inside the system simply download it and send it to them (or have we already forgotten PFC Bradley, er, Chelsea Manning?).
