But then it’s too late because your reputation, career, and often your life is destroyed. One wonders if any of the online mob who actively attacked Professor Galloway will now step up to admit their mistake. Sadly, shame doesn’t seem to exist for many in 2018.
I realize that anything I say will be used against me. I will be accused of victim-blaming and discouraging victims from coming forward. The hatred and gleeful malice I have seen directed at me, my family, and anyone with the temerity to suggest I am not a monster has shattered me. I have watched as individuals who have never met me spent the past few years relentlessly attacking me, treating it all like some sort of game, a way to carve out a name for themselves. They display their false virtue like the tail feathers of a peacock. One University of Alberta professor puts her hatred of me in her official bio, and when I wrote to her asking that she take into account that I am a human being with feelings, and that my children read what she says about me, she responded by hosting a live-tweeted “academic” conference in which I was called a rapist and compared to Robert Pickton.
“It is difficult to describe how fundamentally disorienting it is to have your life, your words, everything about you suddenly and vehemently re-ordered and re-categorized to fit a prevailing false narrative. It makes you doubt yourself, through to your core. Even though I knew that what people were saying wasn’t true, it began to feel true. This is what bullying does: It makes you hate yourself.”
He should join a support group for survivors of the Bill and Hillary Harassment franchise.
“I do not desire for anyone, including my accuser and her supporters, to be subjected to online bullying.”
He really hasn’t learned anything, has he? Make women like this play by their own rules.
It will stop being fun and profitable to make up accusations of rape when the names and addresses of false accusers, and their families’ names and addresses, are routinely published, along with an open invitation to all decent people to let the accusers know what decent people think of them. Let her be told where to go in the street by total strangers, or have dogfilth and eggs thrown at her windows, or have her tires slashed, or be refused service in shops, or be unemployable at any job she can’t do on her back.
(It would be preferable to have women who falsely accuse men of rape flung in jail for twice the length of time originally demanded for the man falsely accused, but this would be far better than nothing.)
Something else. This only happens to white males of modest means.
These days, I only believe women if the man being accused of outrages is a Muslim, a Chinaman, some other type of Third World savage, or a made man in a globalist-controlled institution—leftist/liberal parties, Hollywood, the mainstream media, Wall Street—who can afford white-shoe lawyers and/or hitmen to make their woman problems go away. She’s probably telling the truth, because in cases like that she is putting her life in danger by telling it.
In all other cases, I assume the woman wants money, attention or revenge against a man who injured her vanity by spurning her advances, not justice.
You leave no doubt that you are a racist, especially against the Chinese, in your first sentence of the penultimate paragraph.
You injected your bigotry on a thread totally unrelated, and revived the old and all but forgotten racist epithet against the Chinese, and called them Third World savages. The great Chinese philosophers flourished about thirteen to sixteen hundred years ago, about concurrent with the great Greek philosophers. Because of her philosophers, ancient Greece is recognized as the cradle of Western civilization, and not as “Third World savages.” China contributed no less to world civilization.
In contrast, Russians were “third world savages” ruled by Mongols for over two hundred years. It did not have culture until Peter the Great appropriated western European culture. At the time of Napoleon, French was the preferred court language in Russia. (See, for example, the beginning of Tolstoy’s War and Peace.) It wasn’t until after the invasion by and defeat of France, and Alexander Pushkin’s plays and novels, that Russia had her own culture. Pushkin is known as “the Russian Shakespeare,” because like Shakespeare, he was the first to make the mother tongue respectable. (Except Shakespeare predated Pushkin by over 200 years.) So it is quite ironic for someone from Russia, which has maybe a two hundred year history of culture, to call anyone else “savages”, especially a culture as ancient and developed as China.
For what it’s worth, I really do not look down on Russian culture even if it is so young. My favorite novelist is Dostoevsky, especially Brothers Karamazov (which I have read at least three time) and The Idiot. One of my favorite composers is Mussorgsky, especially Pictures at an Exhibition.
That should have been twenty three to twenty six hundred years ago when the Chinese and Greek philosophers flourished.
Well now he has something of substance to write about.
He does seem rather naive, of course his fellow academics are back stabbing slanderous weasels, that is what they train to do.
Burn The Witch.
The reaction of emotionally retarded juveniles to any counter argument.
The ideal of education, public education was to encourage rational thought over emotional reaction…
Sure worked out well amongst our educated class..Eh?
No shit….
I will continue to say that allowing Public Servants such as the Low Life Scum he worked with and 99.95% of All University Profs etc should never have been allowed to UNIONIZE….and i include TEACHERS – you know, those who go on strike regulary and spew their Marxist Rallying cry BS…
“but think of the children”
Time to decertify them ALL.
Right To work legislation.
Trough feeders the lot of them…

Between this and their activist professor who gleefully encourages pederasty, the UofA needs 10,000 conservatives with torches and pitchforks in front of their admin building every day until they surrender.
“But last month, an arbitrator awarded Galloway $167,000, ruling that UBC violated his privacy rights and damaged his reputation. ”
That is less than two years pay, hardly seems adequate.
Particularly considering the guy is never going to work in his field again. He will be getting published on Amazon Kindle from here on out.
Exactly, he is blacklisted for life after the massive investment he made to get where he was and after winning an extremely competitive process. To make matters worse the investment he made was ‘all or nothing” kind of deal. Those skills are not marketable elsewhere.
I think it might be a bit premature to assume he has “skills”. He was an insider in a very closed system, where everything moves by patronage and government grants.
It isn’t the quality of the book that sells, its who mentioned it to the publisher. Books published in Canada rarely if ever earn back their production costs, the publisher makes money from the government grant. Who gets a grant is determined by the Old Boy network, lots of schmoozing and trading favors.
That’s why all “CanLit” books read roughly the same. Hard Left, lots of perversity, everything in life is a dull grey, etc. They’re obviously writing about themselves, a bunch of disloyal perverts.
All true but that simply means that his skill set was academia specific. The market for tenure track appointments is extremely competitive. Granted it is a competition among a particular subset of players, but among them it is as cutthroat as it gets. And yes, it does require a very substantial investment. Investment that is academia specific and rarely applicable outside of it. Every year universities produce multiple times the number of PhD as there are tenure track openings and for most disciplines (to use the term generously) there is no market for PhDs outside of academia. And that is why his settlement is pitifully low. At the end he lost everything, years of investment went down the drain and he got about year and a half of payment for it.
P.S. I am not defending this pathological system just describing it. People on the right tend not to understand how competitive that leftist system is.
P.P.S. I remain convinced that the threat of loosing that dream tenure track appointment (or being denied tenure) greatly enforces the group think and strict adherence to the progressive code. University hierarchies are not much different than communist party hierarchies. Once you fall out of favor it is a gulag for you comrade.
One thing I noticed as a grad student was how highly politicized the academic system really is, which gets worse the further up in the pecking order one goes. It wasn’t so bad when I was a master’s student but it got worse when I was working on my Ph. D., particularly towards the end.
One’s success in academe is rarely determined by one’s merits (based on one’s qualifications or accomplishments) but, rather, who one happens to be friends with. It’s a closed-shop system and one isn’t allowed to participate in it as a fully-qualified academic except by invitation only. Outsiders are not welcome or, at least, discouraged from applying.
Once one has a tenure-track position, the next objective is to qualify for tenure which, once it is granted, is a job for life and, in effect, beats working for a living. Even so, one has to tread carefully so as not to offend or antagonize the wrong people.
In this chap’s case, he can kiss all that good-bye. His reputation has been tarnished and will never be restored.
They display their false virtue like the tail feathers of a peacock
And might I add … they shriek tones of their virtue in the voice of a peacock. There. Can I be a critically-acclaimed published author too? One who routinely rubs up against young, eager, coeds?
And let me add that if one is to take EVERY females accusation of sexual “abuse” seriously … then we must also take each woman’s MENTAL HEALTH history seriously. This ‘older’ woman’s charges simply don’t ring true to my ear. And if I’ve learned ONE thing in my 62.5 years on the planet … it’s to TRUST my first instincts which are usually bourne of the millions years of my ancestors DNA imprinting.
Loud people generally aren’t nice, don’t let it get you down, we’re winning.
I found this interesting, (sometimes I’m wrong)

So, the first one I can’t pin but the rest confirms well.
Lots of concealment efforts but Morocco, rate my professor etc. is a good enough trail.
I think it’s a shape shifter. The good reads material is compelling both in time frame and topic but I can’t quite stick it. I won’t open or read the smut for linguistic comparison but someone should.
The new “rape narrative” redacted is quite unique and exploitative.
Consent = rape / succubus = victim.
Thanks Noam.
Very simply, these people have slandered/libeled the author. If they get away with it they, and others, will do it again.
Sue them! To bankruptcy if possible.
Shop around for jurisdictions. If any of their stuff was available in Britain that would be the best chance to win.
But the author deserves far more recompense than so far offered, and he owes it to other falsely accused to make the accusers pay.
Slandering authors is the new sport of the Left.
There’s rarely anything you can do about it and if you’re not in a niche such as this guy it generally tends to INCREASE your sales. (As the most recent slander increased mine.)
‘I don’t care what you say about me, just spell my name right.’
His own words,
“The graduate student told me that a man who was interviewing for a job at the university had choked and groped her. She did not want to formally report the alleged assault but wanted assurance that the man would not get the job. I reported the incident to the Program Chair, Keith Maillard, and he notified the Graduate Advisor. Instead of taking the allegation to the Dean’s Office, we respected the graduate student’s request to keep her complaint confidential. Under Maillard’s direction, steps were taken by the three of us to ensure that the candidate didn’t get the position.”
They gave that SJW Psychopath the power to destroy them, when they empowered her to secretly destroy the career of the first unnamed candidate. She got away with it once, why wouldn’t she try again?!?! When she accused Galloway, she fully expected them to fold again. It worked last time! When they didn’t immediately cave in to her demands, she doubled down with more accusations. She had him on the run with her false and malicious lies. He and his family went through three years of hell, and she is still free to lie again.
His career is in ruins, but the Psychopath is still unnamed, and unshamed.
I noticed that passage too, rd. He was happy to join the mob in sending an unwitting (likely) innocent to the career guillotine until such time as the mob turned on him and then it wasn’t so much fun anymore. And as Pat pointed out there are laws against defamation. Use them. Sue these SOBs to the eyes and then some. The SJWs and the fakers will take responsibility for their words and actions when they are forced to do so; not before.
In my own various careers I’ve been the subject of a couple of unjustified complaints. I would like to think that I’ve been the subject of very, very few because I take my job seriously, behave professionally, and draw clear boundaries between my professional and my personal life. There’s a Chinese saying, “Don’t play in your rice bowl” or something to that effect. But when I have been falsely accused I’ve insisted that the matter be addressed as openly as possible. I’ve documented in grinding detail every element of the encounter that I can recall, I’ve refused to respond to innuendo, and I’ve refused to provide an apology or speculate on any element of the issue — “Just the facts, ma’am, just the facts”. When these weasels hit a stone wall with not one chink in it and not one inch of give they back off and go looking for easier targets. It’s the only way to deal with them.
They eat their own.
I found this part to be the most disconcerting. He had no qualms with being part of a secret tribunal that destroyed the opportunity of another man to secure a career by acting on an unsubstantiated accusation. Due to the secretive manner he engaged in, the other individual had no opportunity to defend themselves, and were left unaware of how they were branded as toxic behind their back. It appears telling that in an article filled with apologies and confessions of character flaws, he affords no apology to this victim.
He was a willing participant in this culture until it devoured him. I question if he has actually learnt anything from it, but instead is unhappy that he has ended up in its crosshairs. As an author, he should be familiar with the literary technique of karma.
Instant karma as a guy from Liverpool once said. I have very limited sympathy for this guy.
The graduate student told me that a man who was interviewing for a job at the university had choked and groped her.
What, during the interview? There’s volumes going unsaid about this incident, and I’m also of limited sympathy for anyone who chooses to work in these kind of environments. Like Lindsey Shepherd and Terry Newman, they expended huge amounts of taxpayer money to lie down with dogs.
W. F. Buckley
The sharks of academia smelled the blood of their own. The vicious and frenzied attack was not a pretty sight.
