  1. The man on the right should remain unidentified.
At best, he is an embarrassment. (In reality, he is an example to the whole world, how politically backward this country really is.)

  2. Oh, wait a minute. Wasn’t he a friend of The Father of Trudeaupia, the demi-god who whose efforts have led to a nearly perfect Canada?
This is a Canada now so tolerant that its subjects will appreciate having a family court judge instruct them to forgive a girl who left her newborn baby on the curb in a garbage bag.
It’s heartwarming to know that the girl and her mother are jointly raising the recycled baby. Canada has so very much to teach the world:

Probation for girl who left newborn in trash
Last Updated Fri, 05 Aug 2005 08:43:45 EDT
    CBC News
A teenage girl from Calgary who put her newborn son out with the garbage and then finished cooking dinner for her mother and her brother has been sentenced to a year’s probation.
The girl, now 16, was charged last fall with failing to provide the necessities of life and abandoning a child under 10.
She had concealed her pregnancy from her family after breaking up with her boyfriend and went into labour while her younger brother was in a nearby room. Two hours after giving birth to the healthy, six-pound boy on Sept. 7, she wrapped him in bloody towels and left him in a garbage bag on the curb.
(FROM SEPT. 8, 2004: Hours-old baby found in Calgary garbage)
About two hours later, a woman out walking her dog found the baby. She had heard him crying from the pile of garbage bags waiting to be picked up the next morning.
The temperature had dropped to about 10 C by 8:30 p.m., and the newborn was suffering from mild hypothermia.
Youth court Judge Sharron Prowse O’Ferrall said Thursday that while the girl acted in a “cold and callous” way, she has shown remorse and is a low risk to reoffend.
Prowse O’Ferrall also said the community should forgive the girl and not treat her like an outcast. The girl has been home schooled since last fall, because of public backlash.
The teen, who is now raising her son with her mother, cried throughout the sentencing.
“I can tell you she’s extremely relieved,” her lawyer Jim Lutz said. “The matter’s been dealt with now. She’s happy to get it out of her way and looking forward to being a great parent.”
In an agreed statement of facts, the girl said she feared her mother would want her to have an abortion.
At one point, she lied when her mother asked her if she was pregnant. The teen said she didn’t want to put any more stress on her mother, who had just gone through a divorce from an abusive partner.
As part of her sentence, the girl must observe a curfew for the next three months, undergo counselling and take a parenting class.
The baby didn’t suffer any long-term health effects.

  3. I can’t believe that the baby was left with that family. For crying out loud, the teenager is raising her siblings as it is! WTF is wrong with this picture?

  4. What part don’t you understand? The girl, after all, is a victim of society because its’ obvious that anti-abortion radicals might have had an influence on her. On the other hand, it’s in her favor that she felt her mother was pro-choice so the joint rearing is natural choice. It is undoubtedly being supervised by a plethora of experts who will meet regularly to congratulate themselves on their success in fostering parental love in the young mother.
Once you realize that the young woman simply attempted an admittedly late-term abortion, it all makes sense.
The best part is that when the “baby” is older he will have the benefit of counselling to overcome any feelings of low self esteem; in fact, if he feels he has any he can undoubtedly find a lawyer to sue society on his behalf.

  5. “Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear was a Methodist…”
Thanks to the late Johnny Cash.

  6. Focus, people, focus…
This is so old news – haven’t you heard that PMPM is in town and that he’s just finally ensured the election of a majority NGP government by his brilliant appointment of a GG with the “right stuff?”
Forget about that little Calgary fetus…

  7. I was stunned by the flawwed logic of this teenager – “my mother would have made me get an abortion so I’ll have the kid and throw it out”!!! That’s truly the most twisted and bizarre thinking I have ever heard. Even weirder is that some judge bought this messed up story. The whole thing is pretty sick — and WTF is going on with the courts in Calgary — this kid is still with the family.

  8. After reading this thread,
Unidentified Man is not a man. Hence, unidentified.
Baby killer (almost) should simply be killed.
And on a related note: (not, unfortunately, related to any Canadian leaders) Tony Blair has a serious set of stones. His new immigration policies are right on.
Me? Well, I’m a tad more base. To paraphrase, “kill ’em all and let Allah sort ’em out”.

  9. That’s the problem with Canada today, as evidenced in the attempted murder of a newborn infant which was forgiven so easily with lame excuses and rationalizing. Just imagine the kind of upbringing the child will have in this family. Scary. Looks like it’s properly in line with Liberal values.
The more this sort of thing happens, the worse off will be Canadian society as a whole. Over time, children will become chattels, like livestock, in the eyes of the law. Obviously the left believes the most vulnerable have no human rights whatsoever relative to their parents. The left cannot or will not see the consequences of their evil stupidity and insanity.
Here you have it, folks, another example of PCness and the harm it’s causing society. That disgusting left! Those horrible Libranos!

  10. Could have been worse.
…A photograph of Quebec separatist Lucien Bouchard and his wife was published in a Hong Kong newspaper Thursday with the wrong caption, identifying them as British serial killers Fred and Rosemary West.
The photograph appeared in the English-language South China Morning Post with the headline: “Cheerful, Charming Odd-jobman West Driven by Sex and Sadism.”
The story was about the Wests, a British couple linked to a series of gruesome murders and dismemberment. But the photograph was that of Bouchard and his wife, Audrey, shown together as the Bloc Quebecois leader announced his decision to seek the job as premier of Quebec.
