Deja SARS?

China E-Lobby

“Pig fever” hits the Pacific coast as Communist coverup continues: According to Boxun, the disease the Communists continue to insist is streptococcosis suis (“pig fever”) has hit Guangdong and Liaoning Provinces (Shenyang is the capital of the latter). The Communists have also been hiding the actual number of deaths from this disease, which is “at least 200” in Sichuan Province alone. The Communists are still refusing to let any outsiders in to examine this disease, which one doctor claimed is actually Ebola (fourth item), and are clearly in full disease-coverup mode.

One would think that the experience of SARS would prompt a lot more attention to this story.

  1. I cannot get the link to work. This sounds like a good story, I hope it has not been removed.

  2. The link works fine now, Kate. It is an interesting site. I have marked it as a must read for later – Thank-you.

  3. Just a quick note that practising Muslim peoples do not eat pork.
Additionally, we wouldn’t want to wish harm on anyone.

  4. Actually, most scientists think that this dieses is probably the latest Avian Flu (NH51 I Believe) which is far more worrisome, as it has the potential for world wide pandemic. This is a very frightning manner, and the insular Chinese goverment could be responsible for a lot (millions) of deaths, if it keeps acting this way and it really is the avian flu (or worse, a mutation that is easily spread from human to human, or more easily spread from bird to human).

  5. If indeed what I read on the link to Boxun News (English) is accurate, then I’m afraid I foresee something like SARS or even worse. Remember, the communists really don’t care if anyone lives or dies, so they have no problem covering up an epidemic. Perhaps they welcome an epidemic? It’s no secret the commie tyrants in Beijing are very concerned wrt population growth, so perhaps… I’ll stop at that point and allow readers to draw their own theories.
This is an international problem, too. There’s plenty of travel into and out of China by both residents and nonresidents, allowing for international communication of the virus in question. Would the Sinocommies dare put the rest of the world at risk, either negligently or deliberately? I cannot help but be wary of a totalitarian communist regime that seems to be engaging in activities paralleling those of the Third Reich prior to Hitler’s launch of his evil campaign for world domination. Look at economic activities in China, at home and abroad. At home, the commies are raking in the moolah from taxes on international enterprises employing very cheap labor, producing largely mediocre goods for sale back west. The money is obviously going towards the building-up of the Chinese military. Abroad, it’s suspicious the commies are buying up resource and shipping enterprises. Perhaps preparation to affect worldwide resource availability with a view to exerting dominance over how much of the planet via another world war?
Invading Taiwan would probably be just the beginning. It’s scary to imagine what kind of people are running China and what they are planning for the future… after all, absolute power corrupts absolutely… could the virus in question be a test or warmup of some sort? Perhaps some kind of huge, evil experiment, along the lines of a Dr. No or a Blofeld?

  6. First off, I think we should stop calling it communist China, and start calling it Facist China. They have a dictotorial regime in charge of a largerly free, but still commanded economy.
Next, the problem with the epidemic is worse than that. Suppose it is a new variant of the avian flu, the thing about avian flu is that even if you halted all travel from China it doesn’t help you. Halt all planes comming in from china, it won’t help. The epidemic will follow avian migration lines which will bring it through to Asia to Europe and the eventually North and South America naturally. Further, if it is a new variant, they are taking away precious time to make a new vaccine.

  7. “First off, I think we should stop calling it communist China, and start calling it Facist China”
Nah, both apply as both are anti-human systems, so stick with calling it what it is, communist China. It’s all the same shit just a different pile.

  8. Perhaps it is a virus created by communofascist doctors to ravage the world a la Stephen King’s “The Stand”? Or just the Western Hemisphere?

  9. Asian nations agree to set up bank for anti-flu drugs
Bangkok Post – 6 hours ago
Asian nations yesterday agreed in principle a plan to set up a central bank for stockpiling antiviral drugs to treat bird flu, as a pre-emptive measure for a possible disease outbreak and human influenza pandemic. …

    Who WHO?

  10. Problem. What problem? I don’t see us restricting travel or quarantining people from infected areas before they are allowed into Canada. No sense learning anything from SARS. Wouldn’t want to offend anyone.
If it is in fact a variation of Avian Flu then, as mentioned before, travel restrictions may only postpone the inevitable.
If it’s Pig Flu then I guess the old saying “when pigs fly” comes into play.
If it’s really a type of Ebola virus then things could get very ugly.

  11. Uh oh! I’m in Guangdong province at the moment, and had goose yesterday.
There are fever (i.e. temperature) monitors in the customs terminals into and out of China, but not sure how effective they are.
Anyways, you’d never know there was anything to panic about by watching the news here.

  12. “Anyways, you’d never know there was anything to panic about by watching the news here.”
Jon, you could’ve said that from here at home and no one would ask where you were. Not a lot of difference in this respect between the Cdn and Chinese mainstream media, eh?

  13. I thought it was anyway.
You can say this way, that way, no way, or any of several ways, but *anyways* is a non-word.
Just humour me Stephen, and you will go from 99% to 100%. 73s TG

  14. Tony, or are you also known as Professor Guitar?
It seems you missed the quotation marks bookending the first paragraph in that post of mine to which you seemed to respond. Did you not realize I was quoting Jon? WL MacKenzie made the same error in the thread about Jack L’s brain on drugs and mistook my quotatation of Billy Beck dissing Dubya El’s spelling for my own words and therefore dubbed me “Buzzin’ Steve” and thought I was a pothead. Funny, isn’t it? Me- a pothead? Hahahahaahahahahahah– just kidding! I agree “anyways” isn’t a word- I tell people that, too.
Humor me, Professor, and I’ll give you 100% on your end of course evaluation.

  15. I knew you would take my *anyway* prefrence lightly. I am not qualified to give any language use advice. My spelling and language is based on the, *how it looks*, system.
Pothead? Yeah, it’s funny how people jump to conclusions. When I took the *Don’t side* of the Separate Alberta debate, people are so intense about it that some create things that I did not say at all.
It’s OK though, I often enjoy taking the opposite side argument. It sure gets all the angles out on the table.
You can bet I’ll use excellent points learned to win a debate elsewhere. You have provided a few too. 73s TG
