James Cogan of Primeminister.ca was a guest on the Stirling Faux show last weekend. He was doing such a good job in the interview I decided to call in. He has a post up now about one of the topics touched on – the pros and cons of blog advertising.
Note to media types – add James to your list. He’s eloquent, he knows the topic well and has a good voice for radio.
Good points. I’ve seen advertising over the top on some US blogs, and others seem to have hit the balance, such as LGF, and Protein Wisdom. Just enough that it’s there, but not to intrusive. In the end though, I guess it’s personal preference.
Kate, either you never made a decision re advertising vs. tip-jar or your decision was made and unannounced (i.e. neither).
Personally, I enjoy blogging as it lets of steam and starts some interesting discussions, but I don’t have your kind of readership. It must, at times, feel like a chore to come up with something “new” or a different take on an old story, or whatever, which has to take some of the fun out of it.
Regardless, thanks for your neverending brilliance.
Why thankyou, Candace. Truth is I’ve been too lazy to bother with either.
