The whole issue reminds me of the morning my 2 1/2 year old daughter kept holding her toast out where the dog could get it. After repeated warnings he was going to take, she still was in utter shock when he finally did. Draw your own parallels. – Reg
I saw that post earlier today and just HOWLED, having watched Nootka, the very patient & obedient (for a Malamute), hover under the highchair for what seemed hours, waiting… and then watching various sandwiches & bowls of soup or mac&cheese get scarfed when left unattended.
What a classic line.
Some of the nicest people that I ever met were these young hippies at the North Country Fair up near Joussard, Alberta. (Up north, Peace Country). They were just so very nice and respeactful and considerate to every single person they encountered, including the RCMP officers on site. They were genuine children of nature, and they meant it.
And having mingled a bit I believe if one of those “kids” had sat down in front of those officers and smoked a thingie in protest, they would not have been arrested; the officers would likely have walked away.
Mark Emery, in comparison, is a publicity hound, and a businessman, who makes a hefty living doing something illegal. His M.O, which he is entitled to, is to keep pushing the boundary until something breaks; he’s the equivalent of a legal daredevil. Well, it looks like he overshot the ramp by about twenty yards. Let’s hope he pulls through, but let’s not make him into a saint.
Marc Emery was not in shock – Canadian media was! Marc Emery wants this media attention and is doing everything he can to keep it. He wants to take his fight across North America rather then just Canada (he’s pretty much already won here. The media in Canada are playing into his hands. It ever their was a non-issue in the media this is it. Thank-god the CBC is on strike – one less anti-american media mouthpiece we will hear from on this.
Emery is and always will be a tool straight out of the left wing shed.

The only reason the cops have let up on his business, is because of the overtures by the liberal government to de-criminalize marijana. the cops fearing that at any day all that work would be put to waste when they could have been going after the far more violent (and much more savy than Emery ever could be) criminal element.
The law enforcers have for too long been put on the short lease of political correctness, and retricted for resourses by politicians more eager to dole out a social program or ribbon cutting feel good project.
I’d say Marc’s two seconds of fame expired a long time ago. Time for him to be ignored.
Extridite him and have him serrve his time. I’m sure he will enjoy regalling his new cell mates over the benefits of thumbing your nose at anti-trafficing laws.
