Road Music

Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah*

Best sung inside a helmet, laying on the tank, while riding the powerband through 5 gears.
Hallelujah.

  1. One of the best CDs I own.
The day he drowned in the Mississippi, the world got a little grayer.

  2. Would ya hit 30 mph?
Ya left it wide open …. gotta have a few more cc’s to break the limit of pulling the front wheel…. try sitting back to get some air under that front wheel… constant accel on the rise, center, and gyro the wheel while in deep space… Hallelujah … 😉

  3. A tuned 250 4-stroke can wheelie anytime ye lean and crank. Sometimes it veers a little though.
A while back, on a dirt road in Pitt Meadows [ a little east of Vancouver] a nice wheelie started slipping to the right and I couldn’t get the wheel back down quick enough before the grassy water filled ditch was underneath it.
Needless to say, edging back onto the shoulder off grass and water jest will not bite.
Normally a little run in the waterfilled ditch would not amount to that much, however those damn excellent Dutch farmers always over do things.
Surprise, the ditch was seven feet deep.
Riding partner, *Big Bill*, was almost rolling around in the grass laughing. He didn’t try to stifle it at all.
We worked like hell to get the bike out of water. After about 25 minutes of pumping and hand pushing, she started firing again with a clear carb and onward once more.
Wheelie with caution well away from poles of any kind. 73s TG

  4. “You aren’t insinuating that a 350 2-stroke is too anemic to wheelie, are you?”
Uh… I’d never do that … by the looks of the bike, best line traction would be acheived with the front wheel 6-12″ off the ground with a full tank. It’s a Yamahahaha, they were heavy centered, which was great at high speed, Couple hundred more cc’s wouldn’t hurt. Also noticed that you have a fairly small rear sprocket, based on your other site, so it seems to be built for speed. Pulling the front wheel would be a bit of work but more controllable…… am I close .. yes/no

  5. Chip, Leonard Cohen is still very much alive. Ohh, I guess you are referring to Jeff Buckley’s cover, which is quite nice too. It’s on most of his albums. But nothing touches kd lang’s performance of it at the Grammys this year. Breathtaking. Just did a Google search and found about 70 different artists have covered this song, including Bob Dylan, Bono and others. Leonard Cohen is an amazing songwriter. Marg

  6. My favorite version of Hallelujah is on Leonard’s live album. The lyrics are different than the original, and it’s a bit of a revelation. The album also has an amazing version of “If It Be Your Will” — none of the bridges, just the four stark verses, like a prayer.
