The Sound Of Settled Science

“You can go outside and spit and have the same effect as doubling CO2”

Reid A. Bryson holds the 30th PhD in Meteorology granted in the history of American education. Emeritus Professor and founding chairman of the University of Wisconsin Department of Meteorology—now the Department of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences—in the 1970s he became the first director of what’s now the UW’s Gaylord Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies. He’s a member of the United Nations Global 500 Roll of Honor—created, the U.N. says, to recognize “outstanding achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment.” He has authored five books and more than 230 other publications and was identified by the British Institute of Geographers as the most frequently cited climatologist in the world.

Reid Bryson passed away on June 11th. You’ll enjoy the link, originally posted here last May.

No distance at all. I support this attempt to kick start a national climate change strategy. I care about the plan, but not the tonnes-per-year estimated reduction targets. As I wrote, I want a government that will take bold and necessary action, which I believe is a goal most of my constituents share. So don’t twist my words and, as the prime minister says, screw off. — Garth

Ah, but do you care about the CONS tonnes-per-year estimated reduction targets?

You mean, there are some this year? — Garth

Garth, it shouldn’t matter to you one way or the other, should it? I’m surprised you brought it up.

  2. It was a hit, I tell you… had to be a hit. Any 86 yearold denier has a lot of good years left in him still…
May he find a just and beautiful peace on whatever cloud he lands…

Holy cow, so when I go and Pi&& into the wind, does that mean I am responsible for frying all of Europe!!!
I guess this guy was one of those scientists whose opinion doesn’t count to AGW nutters, thus they can still claim consensus.

He knew this a long time ago, as did many, many others. The scam could have been stopped dead in it’s tracks and saved the world $Billion$. Money that could have been spent on real environmental problems. (clean drinking water)
But, oh no, our beloved media goes with a hyped up Hoax – because of the almighty bottom line and the love of control through fear.
I wonder if James Hansen wants Reid Bryson’s estate included in his proposed lawsuit against those telling the truth about Kyoto ?
Jimmy is into the blame game, such as The Great Global Warming Swindle, for falling support of the scam in the UK and Europe. Can’t let the truth get out, ya se.
Hansen’s demanding a suit against the so-called deniers – a way to counter the looming suit against Gore ?
