  1. Hell yeah. Wake up, you STUPID STUPID politicians! This is beyond ridiculous already.

  2. Just remember if they were smart enough to be anything else they would not be politicians. Their best people can not consistently tell us what the weather is going to be the day after tomorrow and they are telling use what is going to happen for the foreseeable future. Ya sure!
I am in my 70`s and for the life of me I can not understand how those idiots got so much power. WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE HEADS OF THE CURRENT GENERATIONS THAT ARE BUYING INTO THIS CRAP?

  3. Arguing against AGW theory along these lines is dangerous
as it accepts theory that man-generated CO2 is indeed a significant source of GHGs and that they should be reduced. That the US is trying to reduce it’s output by and insignificant amount and then arguing that it is futile is like saying throwing one less beer can out the car window isn’t going to make any difference to the amount of pollution so why stop?
The opponents to the theory have to attack the theory and the assertion of the EPA graph that CO2 reductions of any degree – with or without china and India invoved will have no significant impact on global temperatures and climate.

I would start with education and the dumbing down of the system to meet standards that only satisfy the system itself. When I see my grandchildren having to use a calculator to figure out how much 7 times 8 or 6 times 9 is you know there’s a problem. The use of the English language that in our time indicated a uneducated hick is now accepted as the norm. I don’t wonder I just shake my head at this beautiful system that’s producing 25 year olds with the life skills of 15 year old. On paper they are educated and competent but in reality somewhat less. No wonder so many of them work for the government or still live at home, they can’t compete, we now produce follower’s not leaders.
As our generation used to say about a loser, give him marks for trying. Now they do.

  5. I wish some day the so called environmentalist would care about the environment. CO2 is not a poison plants need it. How many know that in the past levels were much higher and plants and animals did much better. In fact there are scientists that argue the levels are too low. It gave added protection when we went into global cooling cycles like we are going into now. Didnt see that on his chart.

  6. Stephen Chu is the US equivalent to Suzuki ( and I don’t mean ethnicity .. Chinese / Japanese) . Both are environmental zealots / opportunists who never let facts interfere with their agenda.
The difference is that Suzuki has no real power in Canada , but Chu is the US Energy Secretary , and this guy is truly dangerous. I saw him interviewed before the election and I thought at the time that if Obama won the US … and Canada were headed for trouble.
If you watch Chu’s expression in the video , you will see a man obsessed with his “mission” and disdain for anyone who objects.
Fortunately this insane Cap & Trade may yet fail.

“… If climate-change legislation scraped by that narrowly in the House, what are its chances in the Senate?
“Dead on arrival,” predicts James Inhofe, a Republican senator from Oklahoma. …”

  7. It’s pointless trying to stop the political class from committing economic suicide. They are convinced that they can build the next economic empire on the premise of sustainable-green technology.
Wind farms replace cattle ranches, hemp production replaces forest industry, Segway part recycling communities replace Detroit etc etc.
By the time it is evident their dream was a disastrous fool’s mission, they will be safely nested in some foreign enclave in the luxury their public service pensions afford them.

  8. I love the “I disagree with that chart.” He does not question the data or the methodology but the fact that it is being presented and made public.

  9. Damm Global Warming!
Its been so cool & damp here in Grey/Bruce/Owen Sound that on my drive home yesterday after work i noticed Leaves on some tree’s have begun to change colors, I kid you Not.

  10. Time to give these watermelon kyotites a bullet and a blindfold.
Obviously, they are fully aware that the environment is not the point of the exercise.

The opponents to the theory have to attack the theory …….
That is exactly the way to deal with AGW totalitarians. They should be held to ridicule if they cant come up with a valid argument, not some nonsese as ‘concesus’.
The beliefs of locals are amazing, when you give them any information from the literature, they can’t believe that you are not making it up.

  12. Since when does an ecofascist like Chu care about an inconvenient truth?

  13. The US is screwed if Cap and tax goes through.
    Seriously scary stuff.
Check out who Browner’s husband is.
It’s another franken-fund to blow up in the 401K sheeples faces, while Algore gets a few more personal jets under his fat-belt.
“Ms. Browner’s socialistic ideology and socialist affiliations sure do not set well with whatever we have left of our, minimally, free nation.
My research led me to her profile on Socialist International.
Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world’s social democratic political parties such as Britain’s Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies. link
I failed to find her profile again when I looked several weeks ago, not realizing it had been scrubbed from the site. I found a site that got a screen shot of that profile, but it also has some other comments about Wikipedia deletions.”

  14. Since when does an ecofascist like Chu care about an inconvenient truth?
Dr Chu is under oath, he should expect a contempt of Congress charge when, and it will, AGW blows up on the Obama administration. The definition of Global racketeering must be considered ….
If China & India are subject to US/Global trade sanctions (remember the Japan option), over this crap, by the Pelosi/Boxer fascists… A nuclear WAR by ~2012 will be unavoidable

  15. Sen Inholfe is wisely dealing with a political agenda politically.
It is irrelevant politically, at this point, whether CO2 AGW is a hoax.
By using their own assessments against them, that is Whackjob/Malarky is pointless without India/China is a winning strategy. It worked so well in Bali……India/China are not buying into the hoax…they don’t need convincing.
The time when the scientific truth of climatology is finally acknowledged will be when the hoax itself becomes a political matter….and the trials will begin……
In the interim, the objective is to survive and hold the line—without giving legitimacy to the hoax.

  16. Agree with the comments re education. You need to look at the system, which is designed to eliminate responsibility at all levels.
Let’s start with reality, that education is provincial responsibility. Yeah, don’t laugh at me! It should be provincial, BUT! The big, capital letter ‘BUT’ here stands for the fact, that the provinces don’t actually have any say regarding what happens at the schools, due to the fact that the school boards are CORPORATIONS.
Listen carefully: the provincial government body, put in charge of education, has no means of controlling education process in the province, due to the fact that the school boards are independent franchises (like Remax – ‘independently owned and operated).
That’s not it! The school boards, being provincially funded corporations, report only to the municipally elected trustees and no one else for that matter. How do we expect a WORKING education system, when responsibility is spread like jam on a slice of bread and disconnected at the different levels of government?
Everything in Canada that I put my eyes on is a systemic failure, and if I have time to investigate and ask around, I keep finding that it went down the toilet around 1982. Did you mention Sasha Turdoe wants to enter politics?

  17. BTW, our family went for a walk last night around 9pm. We wore jackets and gloves. It was only around 60°. Never on my memory it was so cold in the middle of summer.

  18. When will we be able to stop talking about this?
Global warming will be the biggest embarrassment my generation will have to face to our grandchildren.

  19. “WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE HEADS OF THE CURRENT GENERATIONS THAT ARE BUYING INTO THIS CRAP?”
CTV, CBC, G&M, Tstar, CNN, MSNBC, Hollywood, Public School System, United Nations, Arts Lounges’, ….

  20. If you’re interested, “G-8 leaders agree on climate target: Obama, G-8 leaders agree on 2-degree Celsius target on global warming
Given what the globe’s really gone through, the subheadline begs the question: “plus or minus?”
This soon-to-be ultra-vaunted agreement isn’t as bad as it looks. Government officals that aren’t trapped in that uniquely political hot-air bubble will grab ahold of the real global-temperature data and say, “The reason why we haven’t made any substantive changes is because the global temperature is far from the 2 C ceiling. Hence, there is no need at this time.”
I hope the government of Canada is among those sensible enough to do so. The (present) government of the U.S. won’t be.

  21. This US administration is the last one whose leader will say the words “climate change” in out life times.
Iggy, Smilin’ Jack and that Bloc idiot, take not of the AGW thing sliding slowly over the cliff with Algore at the wheel, and make your plans accordingly.
If you boys want to ride the thing down in flames with Algore, I’m totally good with that.

  22. Bob D.
“WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE HEADS OF THE CURRENT GENERATIONS THAT ARE BUYING INTO THIS CRAP?”
All of the above and more. Your kids generation and those that followed up until present have allowed the government to purchase their votes. In other words, voters have been corrupted. Selfishness and a know-it-all attitude(progressiveness) has charted us a path to destruction. Fiscal issues and infrastructure have taken a backseat to social policy. I can’t say for certain because of my age, but it appears the “Greatest Generation” didn’t suffer from this wacked-out set of priorities.
We can’t truly separate any of the issues conservatives loathe from one another. IMO the root issue is the destruction of the traditional family. As I mentioned about, our know-it-all attitudes have allowed us to turn our backs on history and tradition; because after all, what do they know?

  23. Brian
I hope you are right, I’d like nothing more than to eat my words that “it’s a done deal”.
I can’t see it. BO will spend every bit of political currency he has to pass this. Once it’s through the government will be free to tinker(raise prices) as they desire. All citizens should be yelling “NO NEW TAXES!” We have plenty of taxes already that can be raised; but, as I’m sure you’re aware that’s not quite sneaky enough. I believe that conservatives in the US have offered-up “too little, too late” for this one. AGW will be called a myth by our politicians only after the tax mechanism is in place. By that time we’ll be told that we can’t afford to eliminate the real tax for the faux problem at this time. After all, we have to pay to clean-up GWB’s mess.
Also, at that time the Liberals will crucify the Conservatives for signing on to this farce. You can count on that!
    voltaire’s bastard
“They are convinced that they can build the next economic empire on the premise of sustainable-green technology.”
I disagree. The sheeple are convinced, but the politicians recognize CO2 as the “Golden Goose”. Money doesn’t make the world go around; energy does! The very fact that “green” technologies can’t deliver is the whole point. Think about it, reducing the demand for fuel will reduce the governments take. It’s all a sham! Not some of it, all of it!

  24. In other words, voters have been corrupted.
By whom? What was offered to the voters so irresistible?
Nope, while the voters were busy providing for the family, the government took the children and brought up the voters that it wanted.

  25. I disagree Aaron. It’s my view that voters have been bought off with social programs, entitlements, tax rebates, subsidies and so on. Similar to what the Americans have voted for in 08. ‘F’ bridge maintenance(See Minnesota 07′). In the last election here in Sask both parties tried to buy my vote with rebates on my education. Short term and NDP gov’t would have put more money in my pocket.JMO

  26. Sorry Aaron.
I forgot to mention that I said “all of the above” at the very beginning of my comment. That means I do agree with you and others plus…

  27. If the last two generations were not kidnapped by public education system, they would have had a chance to distinguish short term bribe from long term decline of economy, resulting from that bribe. Dumbing down of our children still outweighs other factors in my books.

  28. Harper apparently signed up Canada for the G8 temperature targets. Kate, do you still prefer him over Dion/Ignatieff?

  29. Aaron
    Sorry, I know I’m not Kate, but…
If you can’t beat them, join them. I admire PMSH for showing leadership and not going down with the ship(dragging us along). PMSH is positioning Canada to succeed in the new “green bubble” economy. What would you have PMSH do, stand by principles which will hurt Canadian exports and the economy? PMSH realized long ago that this battle is lost. The only question is why haven’t Canadian conservatives realized the same obvious truth.
btw, I hope I’m wrong and you’re right. It shouldn’t be too difficult to miss such targets. It’s been done before.

  30. [It says developed nations should cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2050, with the rest of the world making a 50% reduction by the same date.
Analysts say there is no indication of how the targets, or costs, will be met.
Also, the cut in carbon emissions is only a target and will need the co-operation of rapidly industrialising such as China and India.
The BBC’s economics correspondent Andrew Walker adds that the baseline for the cuts could be later than 1990.
That could allow some countries more modest cuts, as emissions in most rose after that date.] BBC
‘should’, ‘no indication’, ‘only a target’, ‘will need cooperation’, ‘could be later’, ‘could allow’
Surely the BBC’s Bridget Kendall wrote that in jest.

  31. They are all clowns … believing that any attempts to reduce CO2 will have any affect on the climate is the fundamental flaw in all of this nonsense.
Simply arguing over what a report means in terms of how much one wasted effort contributes in comparison to two or three wasted efforts is the logic of fools.
    Fools!
As Soccermom said up top … “STUPID STUPID politicians…”
Amplified by even stupider media clowns and followed by ignorant chilrdren desperate to have a cause to believe in.

  32. bob. nothing is going on in their heads. they lack critical analysis skills and sre unable to think.

  33. Waht’s all the exitement about??
The enviros are p!!ssed because they are smart enough to know this declaration is meaningless, and unenforceable…..
HEE HEE HAW HAW HA HA HEE HEE HAW HAW HA HA
    It’s not a binding treaty like KYOTO…
HEE HEE HAW HAW HA HA HEE HEE HAW HAW HA HA HEE HEE HAW HAW HA HA

  34. Well, according to the news, Comrade Harper has just committed us to 80% reductions by 2050.
Maybe someone discovered cold fusion and just didn’t bother to tell the media. Who knows.
