It’s Raining Polar Bears

… in Copenhagen:

On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen’s biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the “summit to save the world”, which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200.
“We thought they were not going to have many cars, due to it being a climate convention,” she says. “But it seems that somebody last week looked at the weather report.”
Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. “We haven’t got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand,” she says. “We’re having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden.”
And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? “Five,” says Ms Jorgensen. “The government has some alternative fuel cars but the rest will be petrol or diesel. We don’t have any hybrids in Denmark, unfortunately, due to the extreme taxes on those cars. It makes no sense at all, but it’s very Danish.”

  2. I believe that German signed on to Kyoto knowing full well they got credit for dropping all the East Germany industry that was stuck in 50 years of soviet limbo. by shutting down what they were going to toast anyway , they easily met targets.

  6. As much as I don’t like the idea, not one bit in fact, I think we’re entering a cold period and unless I miss my guess, it’s known at some scientific level, hence the criminal manipulation of data to get this quackery through and the punishing papers signed.
Yeah, I know ” I vas only doink it for my country”

  7. There’s a fine article over at Weekly Standard, “Scientists Behaving Badly”, http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/017/300ubchn.asp, by Steven F. Hayward about what the English have labelled “The CRU-Tape Letters”!
This is a clever allusion to C.S. Lewis’s book “The Screwtape Letters”, a series of letters from a senior devil to a junior devil, instructing him about how to exploit humans’ fears, vanities, arrogance, and other weaknesses and foibles to their detriment.
ClimateGate’s acrimony, delusions, and crass exploitation in high places would warm Screwtape’s heart. Just whom are Al, David, and buddies working for?

  8. i had a dream last night….AlGorithm and Dr fruitfly were setting an example and reducing their carbon footprint by taking delegates about Hopenchangin in rickshaws…
the fruitfly looked and seemed a natural(does that make me a racist?) but Al didn’t look the least Presidential or Nobelesque…..and he was in a muck sweat…

  9. Sorry posted this earlier under the wrong thread. Forgive my naivety, but I simply do not see what the problem is with the ice caps melting. First of all, who is the authority that thinks they are programmed to never melt and just where did “they” get this information? Ice melts. Seriously, where is it written that ice caps are to remain in the same state, same thickness for eternity. Anyone else think this could be a good thing? It appears the mining industry is exited about it. Speculating that under the melt there may be a nice supply of gold, diamonds, iron ore and copper for Canadians to trade.

  10. The AGW crowd is pushing for WWIII, along with the Alphabet Channels, the State-Controlled Media and Liberal Politicians singing merrily along.
It is really getting interesting that these cats got caught with their pants down but continue to bold-face lie to the Public.
I never thought Homage to Catalonia would repeat itself so soon. What un-repairable damage are these so-called AGW Scientists doing to the Scientific Community ?
And, when the War finally breaks out they will claim they don’t know why ?
