Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Why?
Its not a pretty sight watching a man literally destroy himself before the public, like some sacrificial animal.
All the while claiming he’s in control.
This is where the logic of the human superman always ends. In madness. Just ask Nietzsche.
all you can do for lost souls like this is pray they come to there senses.
JMO
He’s high on stallion jizz. And Charlie Sheen. Winning!
I bet he didn’t vote for McCain because he thought he couldn’t finish his term.
Waaay tooo much information…makes sense though.
Justlet him self-destruct without TMZ and the rest of the bottom feeders profiting from the act.
AdBlockPlus filter took care of that crap.
Painful.
Hard on his parents, watching this.
Amy Winehouse with a willy?
…introducing Keith Olbermann’s replacement at MSNBC…
How much cocaine did Charlie Sheen do?
Enough to kill Two and a half men…..
I figured he was doomed watching an interview he did several years ago after his first go round with rehab when he responded to an interviewer’s question about his drug abuse by saying that he had dealt with it and he now had it under control or words to that effect. The first thing a reformed abuser will tell you is that it’s never dealt with and it’s never completely controlled.
Notwithstanding his politics, it’s always sad to see a fellow human being self-destructing, especially so publicly. Seems he’s yet to hit rock bottom. I only hope he does so before it kills him. One can hope that such a public self-immolation can serve as a deterrent to others who may contemplate a drug-fueled lifestyle and I wish him a genuine recovery.
if ever there was proof of evil and sin in this world (and sorry to use charlie sheen there are way more proof’s) this is a spectacle of what can happen when you insult ,ignore and refuse to follow the tenant’s layed out in god’s law’s as well and fillling your soul up with the gospel , he needs god is what thism an needs and i will pray for him , it is sad to see people fall like this i truley wish him well and hope he get’s better, most of all i hope he here’s the call .
there are so many thing’s going on in this world that are so heart breaking and sad this is just one of many . You may say he made his bed he has to lay in it , and to that i would totally agree , but why such a messy bed, we all make mistakes we have all fallen down why is this man falling so much harder and faster than so many others , he has money yes ,he has some influence yes , but micheal savage nailed it he said this guy has had to do nothing his whole life he has no idea what a job is ,not one clue of what hard work is ,he has no self worth he has accomplished nothing (acting is really nothing to me JMHO) i truley hope he finds god and can rebuild himself from the inside out .
But i guess he will have to freefall till he hit’s rock bottom before he will wake up ,and that is soo sad to see i will pray for him , and the betterment of the world .
Sad and truly pathetic. That’s describing the media’s fascination to this self imploding star. I don’t know if Hollywood realizes it yet but the antics of these idiots in real life, or maybe the extensive coverage of said issues, in fact detracts from the “value” of the star. Kind of hard to sell a movie or show when the “star” recognition is related to their drug addiction, trouble with the law, anti-Semitic rants and not the character portrayed.
Awe com’on!
Look at the bright side, one of our problems is to so many suggestible souls, mindlessly follow the counsel of rock stars, movie stars.
Check out the critter in the White House.
Like as if John lemmon had a lock on reality.
There are exceptions such as Clint Eastwood, the late Charlton Heston, Jimmy Stewart but most of these actors/personalities (fools) are absolutely dreadful role models.
So sad. I really liked him in Major League.
Never watched 2 1/2 Men, but this is just sad.
who cares? the faster this is ignored, the faster it goes away. this is not news.
While I usually dread and loathe ANY kind of celebrity gossip, THIS is news.
It’s the news that chronic drug abuse can lay a man to waste, no matter how rich and ‘successful’ one can be. No one is immune from being taken down by drugs,if they go down that path.
Now, after saying that, doesn’t it say a lot about Charlie and him being a TROOFER? A fine spokesman he is for that movement (of idiots)
Maybe this is the best thing that ever happened to Charlie. Maybe he should just pack in the hollywierd career and escape all the rumor mongers, parasites, bling hunter wives, and sleaze of that cesspool.
Get a ranch in Colorodo next to Niel Young and Pete Fonda and do some fishing.
I loved him in “The Mighty Ducks.”
Finding it very hard to believe this behavior is solely due to drug abuse. He appears the definition of bipolar.
This is Hollywood. If Sheen cleans up he’ll get a TV series starring as a reformed addict turned drug and alcohol counselor. If he maintains his druggie lifestyle he will get a reality show featuring him and his Goddesses. He only loses if he dies.
I’ll miss 2 1/2 Men. Frat-boy comedy never really goes out of style.
Charlie Sheen is just Tom Cruise on crack!
ChrisinMB I agree there is most likely another cause to this. I don’t know what he is like when he is down but he is definitely in a manic state in the interviews. He may get there using drugs but he is lucid in a weird sort of way.
Rob, I think you’re referring to Emilio Esteves.
Isn’t it just amazing what a steady diet of booze and drugs will do to a guy’s brain?
All you drug legalization guys, take a hard look at this guy melting down. And Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Michael Jackson… the list goes on.
Interesting how the left always whines about the amount of money that CEO’s of large companies make but don’t seem to have the same concern for the ludicrous amount of money that people like Sheen (and virtually ALL of the entertainment and music industry) rake in. And yet the entertainment and music industry is FULL of left wing loons that are constantly pointing fingers. Must be some kind of Michael Moore syndrome. (By the way, I wonder if Moore has dutifully given all his money that is in excess of what an average Wisconsinite has to the State?)
Isn’t it just amazing what a steady diet of booze and drugs will do to a guy’s brain?
You forgot the hookers.
CS is known to have been addicted to hookers at least since the Heidi Fleiss scandal.
All aboard the crazy train! TOOT TOOT!
Does anyone really care about this guy?
Oh, the webs we weave when we first decide to deceive.
The first thing I thought of after seeing those pictures of Sheen from Drudge was last Sunday’s Sun article on meth use. There are some truly horrifying then and now photos of meth users and Sheen looks like he’d fit right in.

I have to disagree with you, Phantom. People seeking self-destruction will find it in one form or another – booze, drugs, gambling, etc. The urge to stop adults from harming themselves via bans and prohibition justifies all the meddling of the Nanny State.
Adults should be free to destroy themselves as long as they aren’t harming others and taxpayers aren’t on the hook for harmful personal decisions. Sheen’s assaults against his wives, girlfriends and anyone else should have been taken much more seriously.
I believe we can say that CS is on an orgy of self indulgence.
He will do one of two things:
1. Continue his monumental spiral into the cesspool of self indulgence.
2. Pull out of his spiral and find a cause greater than himself.
In the meantime, its been a spectacular ‘burn out’; simply “SHEENtastic”.
I’m sure his father Martin Sheen, has a few extra gray hairs as he observes the implosion. Not a fate you would wish on any parent…
Hey LENT starts tomorrow, we’ll see if CS can haul his sorry ashes out the flame out he is experiencing.
I’m sure Martin Sheen wasn’t planning a film
“Apocalypse: The Family Version”
I think we now know who the 1/2 man is on “Two and a Half Men”
Mardi Gras anybody?
Prosit!

There’s a very fine line between genius and madness. Most people would admit the guy has incredible talent, so he’s probably been on the verge of madness for many years. The drug use simply increased his time away from reality. He’s actually in pretty good company; Van Gough, Motzart, Ozzy Osbourne, Hank Williams, Marlon Brando, Joan of Ark, George Patton, and so many more. Sheen’s downfall is the ease of access to his personal life. Every move is on the internet, and millions of people watch his madness unfold. It’s a lesson that needs to be learned well. Mad genius needs to be contained.
This situation is 90% mental illness, probably bipolar disorder. When the dust settles on this tragedy, that’s where it will end up.
I will say this for the guy: I have never seen anyone so publicly own and celebrate their own self-destruction. You say I am a drug addict? Hell, I love druges! They are awesome! You say I have an obsession with hookers? That’s right, I love hookers! Here’s my two hooker girlfriends! You say I’m crazy? That’s right, that’s me on top of a building wielding a machete! I also drink too much and am a violent jerk!
I think that’s why this is so fascinating. At this point, 99% of celebs would be blaming mom, wife, job, doing Oprah interviews and going to rehab for the 50th time. Not Sheen. He is living in the fast lane till it kills him. As long as he doesn’t take anyone with him we shouldn’t care less.
Sheen will always win as long as there is media attention along with the celebrity worship (We here are not worshipping per say but we are helping keep the Sheen flame alive)…A book is already overdue = Kaching!…Next year, “The Sheen Family” reality show, maybe?…Charlie and his 2 wifes and kids and the hookers and dope on the side make for hilarious situations(Ahah!) = Kaching! ratings
Plus all the royalty he now gets and will continue getting…
Ya, poor Charlie
Just wish they would spell hollywood correctly:
“f-r-e-a-k-s-h-o-w”
Who cares?
How does this even rate as news? This is the problem with the ADD, celebrity-worshiping society of the day…..it doesn’t matter who you are, or how you got to where you are, we just want to watch you crash and burn.
People are truly are a sad species when we derive entertainment and contentment from somebody else’s misfortune.
Sheen has always worn his vices on his sleeve, out in the open for everyone to see. I personally think he is an idiot, and not even a useful one. The only reason he was fired was for getting into a pissing match with the wrong Hollywood bigwig. Funny how no one wants to admit that this is just the clash of two egos and that there is nothing new here to report.
Beware all those with ideological eyes, or just plain old bat-ass crazy ones.
Who cares. Another grossly overpaid, spoilt actor who has lost control of his life. Boo hoo.
As TJ just said @ 1:05, ‘…another grossly overpaid spoilt ACTOR…’ So this begs the question as to whether or not this is just that..a publicity stunt…an act?
Time Will tell for those inclined to pay attention.
Charlie Sheen is responsible for his own meltdown. Shame on him, his handlers and the hangers-on who think this is all a freak show.
LC Bennett said: “Adults should be free to destroy themselves as long as they aren’t harming others and taxpayers aren’t on the hook for harmful personal decisions.”
That assumes the drugs don’t -cause- self destruction, and it assumes the protracted spectacle of this actor circling the madness bowl isn’t harming others and coarsening society as a whole. As to tax payers, how many times have the cops been to this guy’s pad? How much did that cost?
Also, I did not say that a government prohibition was the answer. We have that now, and as we see it ain’t working.
Finally, even granting your argument LC, the question remains: how many chunks of human wreckage like this do you want wandering around -your- town? Me, I don’t want to see that.
Poor Charlie is having what President Obama calls a Winning the Future moment.
LC Bennett, I agree with Phantom: ” All you drug legalization guys, take a hard look at this guy melting down..”
How many people have lost any hope for a happy life because they decided to flirt with drugs?
Your argument is partially true, but is not the whole truth: Mores, and laws can not prevent all people from doing self-destuctive things, but many people have been saved from Sheen’s fate,
because of personal morals, or because drugs were not available openly, readily available at every retail store.
You say: ” The urge to stop adults from harming themselves via bans and prohibition justifies all the meddling of the Nanny State. ”
I believe your formulation puts the cart before the horse: It was the New Left, the originators of the authoritarian view that the state should order society, who pushed for legalization of drugs, not conservatives. The bans and prohibitions on narcotics were the conservative position on drugs put there to protect, children, among others addiction. Notice that drugs were illegal in the ’50’s, and yet we had roughly none of the trappings of the Nanny state. Lets give credit ( and apportion blame ) where it is truly due.
Phantom, you are assuming that drugs are the cause of self destruction. In my experience, those that gravitate towards addiction have a nature/nurture dysfunction that will express itself regardless of prohibitions. They will merely substitute one poison for another. The ability to buy, grow or make narcotics is almost limitless. Healthy adults can walk on past a table full of drugs without a problem just as easily as walking past a loaded gun without playing Russian Roulette.
scC – Drugs/alcohol addiction and self-destruction started long before the 1950’s. But even the supposedly idyllic 50’s had alcohol abuse/addiction. Addiction can be traced back to at least the Victorian era of morphine and laudanum, yet “conservative” Victorians were quite libertarian by today’s standards. I suspect that percentage of people that suffer debilitating addiction remains quite constant both at the top of the income spectrum and the bottom.
I do think the best argument for drug control is the one about keeping it away from minors. But the war on drugs has not been too successful at this either.
Aww come on, don’t you wish you could live that life for a few days? Sure, it’s a terrible warning on the decay of morals in our society blah blah, but geez, he’s getting more than I do (or ever did) and that’s makes me jealous. I don’t want the consequences, but short term it would be fun 🙂
