  1. Up until this afternoon I was a complete skeptic about the current gold run. I now believe that paper could crash and crash hard. If it does well let’s just say I’m a little screwed. The good news is I’m young and have a somewhat useful skill if you think computers are important that is. Anyway first post bitchez.

  2. Beyond farce; beyond absurdity; words fail at the insanity of it all.

“Those waiting — sometimes for months — to connect to Ontario’s electricity grid, after investments typically of hundreds of thousands of dollars, got permission to relocate their solar panels to another property — for example, that of a relative or friend.”
““That’s kind of a joke, really,” said Steve Taylor, a farmer in southwestern Ontario near Strathroy, who with his father invested half a million dollars in the microFIT program to generate solar energy for the provincial grid. Half their panels remain unconnected to the grid because of capacity constraints in the lines.”

  3. That guy has pinstriped about a million tanks I bet. The effortless movement of sheer mastery.
Kate, you remember that picture of my mailbox I sent you ages ago? Said your job was safe? That guy’s job is safe too. ~:D

  4. I used to work in autobody, and would sometimes have such bad hangovers, I didn’t need an orbital sander. You wouldn’t want a hangover when doing this; you’d want a good stiff drink!

  5. And he does it with the other guy yammering on in the background. Steady hand and concentration.

  6. So Kate, will we get to watch YOUR artistry as a segue to your contributing to the floundering SUN TV?
    Just wondering.

  7. This is how you deal with your Somali pirates.
    RUSSIAN NAVY CAPTURES SOMALIAN PIRATES

“The Russian Navy Commandos moved the pirates back to the pirate vessel, searched it for weapons and explosives, then left and blew it up with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it.”
Do you think that the Somali pirates will have any appetite for Russian ships?

  8. Hey Joe Molnar, is Sun News floundering? I hadn’t noticed, and I watch pretty much every day. Of course I would love to see Kate’s many great talents presented to a larger audience, but can she compete with Ezra’s great work in the paint roller medium?

  9. If that worker doing the pinstripes was in North America he would have had to have permission from his union to participate in the video. The union would have insisted the he charge overtime for doing the demonstration. Then they would have insisted that everyone in the company have equal opportunity to do demonstrations, even if they had no skills.
Then later they would claim that the worker was exploited in the video, and they would sue the company and go on strike.
Instead we see a man who is simply proud of what he does, giving off a big smile at the end after showing us his skills.

  10. Pinstripping free hand, drawing nudies on the side of an E-150 with an air brush and installing running boards and splash guards. Brought back good memories of my years as a Ford salesman. It seems everyone back then wanted an add-on of sorts. The paint shop gave us the best commissions. Thanks kid!

  11. When Mohammedans, aka Muslims, kill Mohammedans, aka Muslims, the left falls silent.

“As the news from Syria grows darker, the silence from the left in Canada grows louder.
In Syria anti-government protesters have told reporters that President Bashar al-Assad’s police are using torture in an especially perverse way. It’s not for information gathering, since they can learn who opposes them by simply photographing demonstrators in the streets. Now they torture to terrify rebels by promising them a hideous death.
The police pick up men at random, keep them a few days, then return them to their families, the many signs of torture readable on their dead bodies. It’s not enough to kill demonstrators with tanks and snipers or have gunboats bombard the port of Latakia. The people are willing to face death. The police want them to fear torture as well.”

  12. Hey AUDJ, I watch SUN TV as well hoping they succeed, believe me, but sadly they do not have the right mix of personalities with the gravitas of lets say, Conrad Black, Lorne Gunter or Dave Rutherford and most certainly the drawing power of Kate McMillan, Canada’s lone female “national” conservative voice.
SDA is proof that conservatism is alive and well in Canada, but not well represented in MSM.
There is no one in this country whom wants a conservative MSM to counter the bullshit of the leftist teats at CBC, CTV, Torstar and Globe & Mail in this country than me, an Unhyphenated (Hunky) Canadian, but face it AUDJ, Fox North the SUN is NOT.

  13. “Fox North the SUN is NOT.”
And Fox south sucks too…MSM of a different flavor. Period.

  14. I hadn’t noticed any evidence of Sun “foundering”. Sounds like wishful thinking on the part of the left-leaning crowd.
Perhaps Sun could become the beneficiary of some tax dollars. I heard a rumour that a certain public broadcaster receives over $1 billion annually from the Canadian taxpayer.

  15. I think Sun is holding its own and getting pretty decent ratings for a new channel. I think it has improved since the start and will continue to do so. What I particularly like is that it does not follow the politically correct “me too” approach on CTV and CBC. It tackles issues in a straightforward way and provides a fresh perspective. The other stations are SOOO predictable, it is hard to know how they qualify as “news” stations.

  16. Sun News still isn’t available on my service (telus). Almost time for the monthly call to ask how the negotiations are going. The last one was fun, I called after the website proudly announced “now offering Al Jazeera”, and the first person I talked with tried to hand me a line about SunTV and Canadian Values. Her supervisor was a little better, and learned a little.

    From the Financial Review:
    Carb cops to frisk workers
Australian workers are set for a lunch box inspection under a $295 million federal government plan to bring health experts into offices around the country.
The South Australian government said yesterday it would spend most of the $10.6 million allocated to it under the national healthy workplace plan on office advisers, who will offer tips eating better, exercising more, quitting smoking and drinking less.
Experts said workers worried about tofu tyrants inspecting their lips for telltale chocolate or rifling their desks for non-organic had nothing to fear.

…nothing to fear?? How about millions of taxpayer dollars wasted on social engineering projects to instill correct eating habits on its citizens.

  19. When Arabs kill Arabs, the left falls silent
A few facts to complement maz2’s tip.
The massacre in Norway occurred almost a month ago,77 dead,of which 69 were children or young adults.
Since that day, islam has murdered at least 652 civilians in terrorist actions. At least 67 of the dead were children. It is very likely that the actual number is higher.
    http://www.thereligionofpeace.com
My second point,I have mentioned this here before.
About 2 years ago,a child was killed in Afghanistan from a ricocheted bullet fired by a Canadian soldier.
CBC sent a news crew to interview the family at the child’s funeral.Understandably the family was upset and did not have kind words for our troops.
They had to travel about 40 miles over the most dangerous roads in the world to get to the funeral.
They made it without incident. I’ve wondered why and have come up with 3 possibilities.
    1. God aka ‘allah’ looks after fools and drunks.
    2. Nato forces gave them an escort(unlikely).
    3. The taliban assured them safe passage.
I think that #3 is the right answer. Your tax dollars at work.

  20. Back when Margo the ‘swan hands’ queen was attempting to justify her Arts Canada grants, I wrote to Minister of Canadian Heritage, James Moore.
His response said in part: ” …be assured the Gov’t shares your concerns regarding the importance of fiscal responsibility. We recognize that careful financial management and responsible use of taxpayers money is necessary to a creative economy….”. Ahhh, James – I think you’ve demonstrated othrwise, thus far.
He went on to say his department “manages programs that support… a robust arts environment such as festivals, arts training” and wait for it….. “strong business practices in arts and culture organizations.”
The rest was just the usual and useless bumpf about the importance of arts and culture in our communities.
My response to him in turn was:
    Dear Mr. Moore;
Your response is such that I am confirmed in my estimation that you are closer to a ‘liberal’ than a true Conservative. I have watched you closely over the last few years and have been disappointed in how you appear to have been co-opted by ‘official Ottawa’ and the bureacracy. Nothing has been done about the waste and mismangement of the CBC – most recently it having offered a job to separitist Giles Duceppe, even while he collects a $141,000 annual taxpayer funded pension.
Your reply below leaves me cold. It offers no hope of change and suggests you believe that federal funding to the arts is prudent and a good investment. In fact it is another form of welfare, with many ‘artists’ and artists associations spending lobbying gov’t for grants rather than producing works that the public would support, either commercially or artistically. My wife and I supported ourselves and our families for thirty years while I earned my Master of Photographic Arts and Fellowship degrees with the Professional Photographers of Canada. I asked for nothing from my government while faithfully paying my income taxe4s and unemeployment insurance.
I can tell you from experience that many artists are either too lazy, too cautious or lacking in confidence to market their work and instead rely on handouts and grants. It must stop. If as a Conservative Minister you don’t have either the belief in free markets or the will to act, I’d ask that you step aside and allow someone with more courage to do so. We Conservative members are getting pretty fed up with ‘business as usual”.

It gets better. The World’s Greatest Orator has a big decision coming up: whether or not to issue a permit for the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline from Canada to Texas. The Hamiltonians would consider this a no-brainer, but the enviros are watching it closely. My bet is that he will approve the pipeline with loads of stipulations, thus hitting Dr. M’s celebrated “sour spot” of making everybody unhappy.”

  23. This article shows that there is no dhimmi like a liberal dummy. The G&M’s Caplan is wondering why there is so much bad news that involves islam.
He actually attempts to demonize Ann Coulter because she said the Fort Hood murders were an act of islamic terrorism. Really.
He attacks Ezra Levant,Coulter,Wilders, and of course Mark Steyn, and others. They are all evil people because they tell the truth about the ‘religion of peace’.
I’ve read a lot of crap about how the muslims are just like us, this one is one of the worst.

  24. Quality is not quantity.
Quantity is a tyrant. See AGW/polls/statistics/surveys, etc.
“Calls like these are not judged by volume, but by the quality of the information, which has been exceptional,” the source said.”
“CBSA has released the names of 32 foreign criminals and has published them on their website.

“Canadians coming forward to turn in foreign criminals
WINNIPEG — Almost immediately after posting the names and photos of wanted foreign criminals on its website this week, the Canada Border Services Agency began getting tips and valuable information that’s expected to lead to long-awaited arrests, QMI Agency has learned.
“Literally within minutes of posting the new list CBSA began to receive calls on their watchline,” a senior federal official told QMI Agency. “The tips generated from these calls are expected to lead to immediate results.”
On Thursday, CBSA began publishing the names of foreign criminals hiding out in Canada trying to avoid deportation to their homeland.
The new “watchline” program is part of the federal government’s renewed effort to hunt down some 1,400 criminal refugees believed to be on the lam in Canada.
And after only three days, federal officials say they believe arrests are already “imminent.”

  25. What’s wrong with Caplan? He had another bizarre article some days back and got soundly trounced by some of the comments. I think he is off his rocker.
