  1. Go Ezra go . . just keep on rattling their cage.
My CBC . . . plumbing new depths of stupidity and ignorance.

  2. The best part is that the CBC itself is the biggest watcher of SNN and Levant in particular. You know they want to know what’s being said about them.
It’s like in the Spring, when Levant invited the Star’s Delacourt to appear on his show to defend herself on why she was crying after Iggy was defeated…. she declined. But you know when Levant said, “okay, I’m going ahead with the show… thought you’d like to defend yourself, is all”… she was watching it!
Funny thing is that last summer, I counted about a dozen reasons the CBC gave why SNN should never go to air… funny thing that challenging the CBC itself wasn’t one of them.
The party’s over. The CBC seems unable, rather unwilling to adapt to the news reality — that all this stuff is getting out there now.

  3. They’re probably paying a team of lawyers top dollar to monitor Sun TV, money means nothing to them.

  4. I didn’t think my disdain for and disgust of the CBC could sink any lower than it already is. This video has proved me wrong.
Ezra is THE BEST! His opponents think he’s the clown: he proves them wrong every time.
(I’ll bet the CBC is still wailing on about the even-in-death manipulator, Jack Layton: after duly and graciously giving him/ his death the respect he/it deserves yesterday, SUN News has moved on to other, more important issues. Alleluia!)

  5. while i like ezra, i can only stomach so much of him at a time.
calling security guards, ‘rent-a-cops’ is doing the very thing he is criticizing, about being superior.
It is one thing to do it as a joke, but another to keep saying from a reporter standpoint.
So, someone please get Ezra a personality coach.

  6. CBC > “Your on private property, get out or we send in the Gestapo jackboots”!
Joseph Goebbels would be so proud of the Canadian Ministry of Socialist Propaganda.
    “Load the trains”.

I’d say, sir, speak for yourself.

  8. If we had not decided to DVR Ezra today we would have missed the whole thing… what a GREAT segment. Those idiots moving into their space and eating a sandwich as a pretense they could not tell him who they are and the bumping into the cameraman show them all to be childish and hypocritical idiotic twits. The head of security, or whoever he was had a distinctly “Al Jezeera” look about him.
And that infant security officer who would not even pick up the phone to call for Ezra needed his diapers changed right after he got the spanking he deserved. THIS??? and Rick Mercer,David Suzuki, et al is what our 1.1 billion pay for?
We have been overcharged for years but this is beyond the pale.
What IRKS me is watching the clips of Minister Moore a CONSERVATIVE pound home the emphasis that ‘funding to the CBC’ has increased year over year, year AFTER year…and for this we get Corner Gas and Little Mosque on The Prairie?
I would gladly watch HNIC and Don Cherry on ANOTHER CHANNEL and never look back!
Ezra is one of the best people commenting today, either side of the border, along with Mark Steyn and our blog heroes and heroines ( Kathy and Kate, et al)!

  9. Am I missing something? I get a video link to a story about the long term unemployed in the UK.
Could someone post the link so I could see it? Thanks.

  10. Awesome.
I’m in that area every morning.
That building is a monster, the equipment is unbelievable.
The people that work there for the most part can’t cross the road properly. I used to yell stuff like “Avi Lewis is a communist” when they were on strike and all standing around outside with their pathetic signs. The acoustics of that street are canyon-like and loud.
I also tried to talk to some of them during the strike but they were dismissive and would not engage in discussion. “Bunker mentality” describes them perfectly.

  11. Tsk,tsk – that is entirely the wrong approach to get an interview with the CBC. Now, if the Sun intern had phoned and claimed to have “found” sensitive, classified CPC documents he would have had instant access to anyone in the building.
Think like James O’Keefe of ACORN infamy.

  12. Dunno, about passive aggression but what I saw were smug little dweebs with no balls for a fair scrap who prefer to BS, name call and have hissy fits from the safety of their morally superior bunker. I can’t think of a more non-threatening guy as Levant but he sure had this CBC wuss pit buzzing with feigned indignity.
BTW sandwich boy’s obstructionist ballet has got to be the most hilarious form of aggressive foot work I have ever witnessed – have these CBC droids been so emasculated by PC indoctrinating they can’t even muster a manly defense for themselves and their ideals? I’m so thrilled SNN captured Sandwich boy’s dance of the indignant wuss on video for posterity as testament to PC impotency! 😉

  13. Occam, I was divided between the the deaf sandwitch guy and the security nazi on who was the funniest. I kinda expect that if Ezra had really been naughty, they’d a had him in cuffs. Private property, yah its mine, you pompus bunch of arseholes.

  14. johnbrooks, when the CBC faces the criticism SNN makes against it — fact-based and bullet-proof — then you might have a point.
One criticism I do have, however, is that Aurel is on Levant’s show now… I believe I saw him on CBC a few weeks, interviewed on a foreign affairs issue of some kind, maybe Libya or the attacks in Norway.
He can’t decry the state broadcaster while accepting invitations to appear on it.
Having said that, great program so far… I love knowing that the CBC is watching every second of it, too.

  15. Ezra is certainly not above criticism and he’d be the first to say so! and he’s not joking johnbrooks. While he may come across as a buffoon or clown, that is his schtick, what he says is dead serious…and 100% correct.

  16. Haven’t watched CBC for 5 years now (except HNIC)& recently spent hundreds to switch to Shaw Cable from Bell Expressvue, because they refused to come to terms with SunTV.
Really, how brain-dead do you have to be to not see that the Canadian Brainwashing Corporation is just a propaganda leftist outlet?

  17. It’s rather ironic, but that’s how Michael Moore got his start, attempting to interview people from the corporate or political sector, and filming the reaction of the interviewee for his TV show.
Give ’em hell,Ezra! I thin k the time has come for all concerned Canadians to E-mail their MP’s,and demand to know why there is never any discussion about privatizing the CBC.
I know it’s a “national icon”, but so was CNR,in fact,CNR was around a lot longer than CBC,since 1918,and they sold it off.
Ironically, CNR had it’s own radio broadcasting service,so passengers would have entertainment while travelling.
“In 1923 CNR’s second president, Sir Henry Thornton who succeeded David Blyth Hanna (1919–1922), created the CNR Radio Department to provide passengers with entertainment radio reception and give the railway a competitive advantage over its rival, CP. This led to the creation of a network of CNR radio stations across the country, North America’s first radio network. As anyone in the vicinity of a station could hear its broadcasts the network’s audience extended far beyond train passengers to the public at large.
Claims of unfair competition from CP as well as pressure on the government to create a public broadcasting system similar to the British Broadcasting Corporation led the government of R.B. Bennett (who had been a corporate lawyer with Canadian Pacific as a client prior to entering politics) to pressure CNR into ending its on-train radio service in 1931 and then withdrawing from the radio business entirely in 1933. CNR’s radio assets were sold for $50,000 to a new public broadcaster, the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission, which in turn became the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1936.”

  18. Cross-posted @ 5:35 on Reader Tips:
Over at SunTV, Ezra’s getting a real grilling by CBC security.
I’m tired of these sanctimonious, thuggish gate keepers (not the red-headed kid who looked about four years old: whose son, nephew, neighbour is he?), supposedly on the public’s behalf, harassing members of the public who walk into the CBC building and start asking a few questions.
They remind me of the KGB — at least, what the KGB looks like in the movies. Come to think of it, the CBC kind of reminds me of Pravda …

  19. again, speaking for myself outlook, is Ezra above criticism? has he become a pope?
if one can’t voice one contrary opinion on here then we are just as guilty as the CBC and other wind bags ‘we’ are so ardent to point out.

  20. Actually digging deeper, have we become right wing drones without accepting any independent thought here as well?

  21. my niece is a security guard at the rider games in regina sask. i have 3 other security friends, one at nortel in calgary, one at bow valley school in calgary and the other at gulf canada square in calgary. what’s the beef with security guards, very juvinile , highschool boy prankish.
    btw… i love Ezra

  22. “Wow, touchy bunch.”

Hearing a broken record (or skipping CD) over and over kind of does that to people. We get it, you’re not a fan of Ezra. While I am a fan of Ezra, I can only speak for myself.

  23. Dear Mr. Brooks:
Maybe I can clarify this issue for you a bit. Although Ezra can come off as a little ackward and he has a tendancy to run a couple octaves higher than most talking heads, folks in these parts watched this most dignified brave man with a razor sharp intellegence wade through some of the most egrigice slop a western government has ever perpetrated on a citizen in modern times.
In gratitude for his strength and his veracity most here loath the thought of any criticism to Mr Levant. That includes me, because he has done such a great service to this country.

  24. The RT long term unemployment video is also great. In the late 1960s and early 1970s my wife worked in the St. Catharines City Hospital lab and encountered 3rd generation welfare recipients. No doubt the descendents of these families are now 5ht generation welfare recipients.
    Ezra Akbar! Too funny. 🙂
Great job Ezra, keep the heat on CBC Pravda.

  25. Jeff, appreciate the insight. Interestingly the first straight forward display of one’s thought without sounding like a drone.

  26. Maybe I’ll go after Shaw and tell them I want a single station on my cable that being Sun TV. Currently I just have cable internet and that took a while as I tried to tell multiple people who work at Shaw that I don’t watch TV. I might make an exception for Sun TV.
Why the CPC hasn’t moved to defund this commie moneyswilling monstrosity is a mystery. Does the commie broadcasting corporation have video of PMSH in a compromising position that they’ll broadcast if he decreases their funding? If PMSH won’t do it, then perhaps it’s up to us to start bombarding our MP’s with requests to get rid of this statist relic which deserves the same fate that befell the Berlin wall.

  27. Ezra can be grating at times, but he’s still the godfather. Nobody can tell me what Ezra has done has been easy or has been self serving. The guy’s a friggin hero so yeah some people get touchy about him. I would very much like to see him become more polished.. but it would suck if he lost that straightforward blunt truthiness too. Come on, he chainsawed a tree on earth day. What’s not to love?

  28. max: “One last thing about Ezra.. he’s waaaay better after about 2 beers.”
After *he’s* had about 2 beers, or *you’ve* had about 2 beers?
And is it 2 beers or 2 beer?
The chainsaw massacre on Earth Day was particularly touching, in my warped view; I can say from personal experience that Ezra grows on one. He embraces insults to his person with relish… as opportunities to duke it out and convert his attackers to conservatism. The guy is just plain goofy and likeable, but one underestimates his fierce intellect at his peril.
