  1. So they are whining that Harper is alive and jack is dead? …. The universe is unfolding as it should.
Here are a few words of consolation …. I enjoy your fear, anxiety, frustration, hate and helplessness. It looks good on you …. you weak-kneed spiteful fairies.

  2. People who make comments like “I wish Harper died instead of Layton” are pissing on Layton’s grave before he’s even been placed in it.
    Excusez mon francais.

  3. Greetings comr… er.. Short-term-overweighted economic units. I’m “lived under communism” and I’m an alco… Conservative.
The last election demoed the superiority of a Parliamentary Democracy. People shifted from centre to poles when sick of elections or unissue. I think AGW is an important enough issue to supercede imperative for efficient government, but had one seat with me.
When commies go mentally ill, they stop doing their jobs right and tax. When the RW goes mental, still works; have superior Protestant/Muslim/Chinese work ethic. This keeps us healthy with good human capital. Probably forced part-time work is most efficient.
It will take a while for me to blend in equally. I’m worried about the CPC splintering. I’m not a mole. I know some will probably leave to liblogs or dippers just to get away from my comments. I’ve gamed that I should follow you around for unity. I’ll follow to liblogs, follow to dippers; let’s keep this Party going!!
I believe health care transfer payment should be regional or Provincial. I intend to make a ranking of cost-effectiveness. Likely best data outputters (chance to cut secretive unions) be ranked highest. North doctors burn gas and USA has gunshots; reasonably similiar.
    Feminism is communism for girls.

  4. Funny, after discussing the death of Jack Layton yesterday with my young-20’s daughter, I told her I was very sad for his family, that his death after his election triumph was a shame, and that I admired his accomplishments and tenacity. I then told her just watch, Dipper supporters (who obviously cannot help themselves) will soon be stating they wished Harper had died instead. She said “Oh no, that would be crazy, I don’t think so”. And yet, here we are. The progressive mind personified. I look forward to sharing this link with her.

  5. Incidentally, the first I heard of this phenomenon was early yesterday, when Evan Soloman read aloud an email saying “Cancer took the wrong man today”…Maybe Evan left out the last bit of the email?…hmmmm I wonder who the “right” man would be?? I knew it was only a matter of time.

  6. “Layton’s cancer was an inside job”
Pretty much sums up the NDP’s appeal to arrested intellects.

  7. HDS. Harper derangement syndrome. Simple as that.
That said, there were some pretty ugly remarks in yesterday’s thread from people who couldn’t put partisanship aside, slagging Layton within hours of his passing. Lance was correct to shut down the comments.

  8. interesting to note that “Layton’s letter” was actually crafted by Olivia and Brian Topp, as Jack was probably in alot worse shape than we were told. He would have also known he was terminal when he met the press in tough shape only a few weeks back . So a fighter or a liar.
and the family has become forever on the public purse. His father an MP, jack a city councillor and MP , his son a city councillor .
forever on the public purse. subsidized housing by using his immigrant mother in laws name , and now a state funeral.
whatever his public claims, it was always Jack first when it came to the trough.

  9. Kate,
I’m on the lookout for the self proclaimed “unbiased” “tolerant” leftards to reveal their hypocritical selves while the moment is raw. The first such example flagged by my friend Biaced (I must admit I have been trying to look the other way as the left come to grips with their dead “saint”) was Alice at Pundit’s Guide who came up with this beauty:
“the airtime was filled with recollections of his life in politics, some of them warm and personal, and some the warmed-over sentimentality of those who smeared him short months ago”.
Leftards who won’t admit, and maybe truly believe they are not biased, and show their lack of tolerance are double dipper hypocrites in my estimation.

  10. Every time the NDP goes ape-shyt over something Harper does, we can remind them that Jack “Positive Politics” Layton would be ashamed of their lack of civility. Let’s use it to our advantage.

  11. I posted a link to the Moose & Squirrel piece on the Facebook page of CKNW, as they were having Christie Blatchford on as a guest to “defend” her column.
One nitwit named Julie Campbell wrote: “haha……all those tweets wishing cancer on Harper……not likely. I don’t even think he is human :-)”
How much of a moron does someone have to be to miss the point THAT badly?!

  12. The left are nothing but violent mentally ill Nazi’s clamouring for power over others.
Their words and actions define them.

  13. And WE are supposed to hold our disgust at the life of this parasitic socialist?? Naw, we’re just getting started.
    Oink Jack!

  14. Don’t count on liberal media reporting the hatred the feral left are espousing, we’re suppose to sit quietly whilst the NDP party and the Media Party Cannonize Jack whilst we pay for his lavish funeral.

  15. The unusual result of the last election regarding the NDP and the ensuing mystery as to just how that had happened was answered by the left by indicating it was Jack and his personality that swayed the votes toward the NDP and shot them to Official Opposition status.
In my view, nothing could be further from the truth.
Layton was known to have been in Washington before the election ‘discussing the election and the “youth” vote with officials there.’
Translated: Flash Mobs can skew the outcome of ANY election. Count on it. And he did.
    And they did.
The results were a completely unexplained vote that saw many unqualified people who had NO relation to a riding ‘get elected’.
It smacks of manipulation to me. Regardless of Jack Layton’s ‘personality’it does more to explain the strange results than anything else.
Let’s say it was a ‘dry’ run and NEXT time they would be more than prepared to see that Jack Layton became the next PM of Canada… a PM elected by flash mobs, tweets, facebook manipulations and ‘arrangements’ of armies of people completely unqualified to vote. Perhaps of people not even IN this country.
The signs were obvious during the election if one remembers that idiot from the CBC, Rick Mercer, running around ‘getting the youth vote’ …making sure the “youth” were “interested” in voting.
And the incidents on campus, let’s not forget.
It may be that voter fraud has never happened before in Canada and it may be that it has and we just have not had it reported. It might explain why the party of brown paper bags of cash ruled this land from 1993 until they had power wrested from their sticky fingers…. or it might be that voters were just uneducated enough to vote into power folks whose penchant and thirst for money, OURS, was greater than their commitment to service.
We DO know, however, that voter fraud is common in the states so when we see some of the same kind of tactics used along with new technology, one has to wonder.
Now that Jack Layton is gone and the party has been taken over by factions whose aims are the break up of this country we may be spared a nasty
    fight.
For Jack Layton’s family their grief and mourning will last far beyond this day and this week.
Our sympathetic Canadian hearts go out to those who lose loved ones and whose suffering we can do nothing about but indicate sympathy and empathy.
Beyond that, one must hope for the sake of the country that the NDP does not survive it’s stated aims.

  16. Should it have been Stephen Harper I doubt the press would have been in such a frenzy of over exposure, indulging in manic comments a la Heather Mallick.
It should be remembered that the left is full of idiotic and unseemly rhetoric at the best of times so in this instance, the passing of one of their own , a certain amount of over the top histrionics can be expected.
My patience as a conservative is short, however and do not intend to tolerate anything beyond this week.
Once the man is laid to rest they can do the same with their hateful rhetoric.
I have a sense that many conservatives are just as fed up as I am and many millions like me, who have absolutely HAD it with the left and their off the wall juvenile hysterics. It costs us too much money and is in danger of costing us our freedoms.

  17. Oooooh, that’s gotta sting! Layton’s former chief-of-staff Anne McGrath just told poor Evan Solomon that the PM,and PMO has been ‘very helpful’.BTW,new Facebook page up,”Turn your porchlight on in memory of Jack Layton”..BUT only eco-friendly ones!

  18. To wed their pathological hatred of Stephen Harper with the death of their hero Jack Layton is just creepy. Yech.

  19. No Disrespect to Jack Layton. Its been my observation in life that Dying makes instant Saints.
The NDP is using this terrible event. That all the living see in the end. To fertilize the Party’s fortunes on his grave.
I see no end of Eulogies that are laced with Anti-Conservative rhetoric.
In part because their Party is about to go volcanic.
The left never plays fair. That still doesn’t stop me from acknowledging Layton’s part in the Canadian Play.
Many sorrows he’s seen such an early end.

  20. I’ve always wondered what the socialist version of Valhalla looks like and I guess Jack will be able to tell us through ouiji boards around the country. My guess is that he’ll be greeted by 72 nude masseuse’s – all of whom look like Libby Davies.

    Count me as one Snowbunnie.

  22. Late to this but just heard the “family” is asking people to donate to the Broadbent Centre in lieu of flowers.
Not the Canadian Cancer Society. The Broadbent Centre.
These people make me want to puke.

  23. That is absolutely disgusting. I know there are zealots and whackos on every side of the political spectrum but wishing for someone’s death just because you disagree with their politics is ridiculous.
I hate saying this in light of a man’s tragic passing, but do you think that the left would be showing Mr. Harper the same respect that we have been showing Mr. Layton? I highly doubt it. All you have to do is look at election night. When Harper congratulated Jack, everyone in the room cheered. When Jack congratulated Harper, everyone in the room booed. Layton was clearly disturbed by that and tried to calm it down, to his credit.
Maybe the left ought to take a page or two from Layton’s common decency. Could it be that that is why people liked him so much? Of course not, it’s cause he was an NDPer and only because of that. Yeah I’m being sarcastic.

  24. Sick people! The left cheered when Tony Snow dies of cancer.
Don’t forget that the Marxists have a mission to make the countries of the world a clone of the former Soviet Union.

  25. Sorry syncrodox, just had the image come out of nowhere and the urge to share it – perhaps I was channeling Jack. I’m personally trying a few shots of Jaegermeister to see if it will do the mental equivalent of changing the channel.

  26. No prob loki, I figure only a few million synapses were permanently damaged and the Crow Royal seems to be kicking in quite nicely 🙂

  27. “”Why couldn’t Stephen Harper die instead of Jack Layton…”
Uhhh…because Heaven has a shortage of socialists?

  29. “That is absolutely disgusting. I know there are zealots and whackos on every side of the political spectrum but wishing for someone’s death just because you disagree with their politics is ridiculous.”
Dude, where have you been? Know thine enemy.

  30. I guess my response to this idiocy is “Why couldn’t it have been both Jack and Olivia?’

  31. I think the moral of the story is that there will always be people on all sides who lack decency and respect. Some of the comments on this site certainly show that there are people on the right who can spew vitriolic speech just like the worst of them.

  32. Tim says there are ‘people on all sides who lack decency and respect’ and attempts to indicate that there is a moral equivalency to rhetoric on the right and left.
There IS NO equal to the vicious and disgusting rhetoric from the left. It is plainly INSANE.
I have listened for 10 years the lefts penchant to vilify and destroy ANYONE who disagrees with them in thought or deed. There is just NO comparison whatsoever.
Plain English is what’s wanted and needed these days and the left are going to get it. IN Spades.
This verbal, social fight is to the finish.
The left know it and we had better catch on like the Tea Party has in the States. Join them and our conservative brothers and sisters everywhere.
The US need to take their country BACK. We need to ensure the left do not EVER get any further foothold and not a few grasps of the left need to be firmly and forcefully removed from around the throats of our civil society in ALL areas!
