    – He has favourites. I’m so tired of listening to him ramble on and on about gender issues/inequality/lgbt. WE GET IT. What happened to learning about REAL english? He is an unfair marker. If you don’t write about what HE wants you to write about, you get a bad mark. I HATE IT. I’ve always gotten marks in the 90s in English. With him, I’m hanging by a thread. He should be a full time counsellor, not a teacher.
    – Maybe he should focus on teaching feminist theory instead of English …

  7. Yeah, it’s so outrageous that some parents don’t want their eight-year-olds being taught about things like transgender issues and “gender fluidity” in school, or being fed anti-family, anti-tradition, almost dystopian propaganda in comic books.
    The “Royal We” attitude of the progressives is beyond presumptuous. Their attitude is essentially “WE don’t say things like that”, or “these are the views WE hold”, and by “we” they mean “everybody.”
    Get stuffed, Erickson. Royally.
    As an aside, I *still* can’t believe how great Sun News TV is. Their evening lineup in particular is superb all the way through. If you don’t have it, get it.

    The Northwestel outfit in the Yukon still claim that they do not know of any TV station named Sun News!! I have phoned them on and off for the past year, they have five or six American news stations – finally they got Fox News last year – no Fox Business- 5 or six French channels, Global, CTV, BBC,and the big CBC on three or four channels; gazillions of sports channels, Italian, Al Quadia – but they have never heard of a Canadian News Channel called Sun News. They are dinosours at best, lefty censors at worst. Sad. When I remember the Last Frontier freedom loving, independent souls who lived and worked here (not for the gument either ) only 3 decades ago before the Yukon had elected King Tony Ding Dong and his Dipper piglets; that group chased all the miners, hunters and free business people out – the Cigarette smoke ban fanatics drove out the tourists – now the Yukon sits on it’s fat thighs with its hand out and a stunned look on the face of this mighty majesty. Robert Service would never believe his eyes if he saw the Yukon today.

    $21,500.00 per person!! Even Kabec gets less than $3000.00 per person. The Yukon gets 750 million dollars for 30,000 people (and about half of those warm bodies live on reservations so they are receiving direct Fed funding). The metal prices are a romantic notion some people tend to try to pin the welfare prosperity on so they can ‘feel good’ about living up here in the ‘wild north’ – it is the ‘control capital’ of Canada and would be flat on it’s face without it’s Ottawa nanny. You maybe did not live here when the Yukon mined for real – not just on paper.

  18. Yeah, so? Per capita funding for the other territories is even greater. It’s the cost of sovereignty. It’s always been like that. The party in power doling out those fed funds is immaterial. The fed funds are the baseline that keeps everything running. When metal prices are high the Yukon private sector economy picks up, when metal prices are low it slumps. It’s been that way for the four decades I’ve been here and for decades before that.
    The Yukon mines for real, every clean-up tells me that.
    There are no reservations in the Yukon, you should know that.

  20. Bell ExpressVu is suppose to have Sun Tv available again starting (sometime) Nov. 28th on channel 506 over here in Eastern Ontario. It is included in the basic package.
    I’m not sure what HD channel….but it will be there someplace!

    Their approach is always “values neutral”.
    the message the kids get is that there is none to be considered.

  22. A month ago, National Post bowed to this pressure. They issued an apology (for the ad) and donated the cost of the ad to a Gay Awareness group.
    I cancelled my subscription as this is the only way I can object to their decision.
    Whether I agree or disagree with the ad campaign is irrelevant. My issue is the way NP folded and effectively said that dissenting views are not allowed to be discussed in this country.

  25. More and more there are two sets of laws. One for the peasants (that would be us), and one for The Connected/Protected. If The Phantom complained to the CRTC whatever about SUN news, probably not even going to get an automated acknowledgement email.
    Slaphead Erickson is Connected (Hogtown NDPee) and Protected (flamer), so his one complaint carries the weight of federal law, pretty near. He might be able to get a Royal Inquiry out of one letter.
    Nice to see SUN tell him to shove it on national TV.
    As to the McGuinty sex-ed BS, just inform the school your child will not be there for those classes. Dentist appointments. Allergy shots. Whatever. You don’t have to do what they tell you, so don’t.

The educational systems of this country have bent over forwards to, first of all, accommodate and now to actively promote the LGBT(x3)TSI, that is, L(esbian)G(ay)B(isexual)T(x3:Trans,Transsexual,Transgendered)TS(two-spirited)I(Intersex) sexual deviations. And no deviation from this script is allowed. Talk about diversity and inclusivity, eh?
    There happen to be a few conservative, observant Christians still teaching in our public schools. Their sensitivities, their beliefs and values are blatantly assaulted by our ministries and boards of education all the time. The bloated, activist, educational bureaucracies have created gulags (even in Catholic boards), governed by written “Equity Policies”, which, like the Human Rights (sic) Commissions, are only used to protect the “rights” (how about license?) of their favoured groups: LGBT(x3)TSI, aboriginals, visible minorities (some are more visible than others), feminists, Greenies, Muslims, etc. On the other hand, these same policies are used to bully and beat into submission any teacher/group who dares to question this progressive, repressive, and utterly HYPOCRITICAL orthodoxy. (No wonder the boards’ anti-bullying programs have been utter failures: the biggest bullies around are the powers that be, who rule their charges with a politically correct, iron fist, from top to bottom.)
    I’d also say that a critical mass of non-Christian teachers, who’d happily watch CBC and read the Toronto Star, are also disturbed by the sexual politics being shoved down teachers’ throats. I actually know of a school where the principal was once again highlighting the board’s “Equity” policy, as it related to the LGBT(x3)TSI community. A Christian teacher spoke up and mentioned that, in reality, the equity policy favoured certain groups and left others—like his—out. Apparently, there was dead silence, and then, without a word, the principal quickly moved on. But afterwards, many of his colleagues spoke to the Christian teacher, sotto voce, thanking him for saying the unmentionable. They said they bitterly resented the board’s utter unfairness and hypocrisy, and felt quite oppressed and offended. Teachers feel altogether bullied and threatened by their boards’ activist, progressive, repressive, hypocritical agendas. Public school boards actually have re-education officers and “sentence” teachers who step out of line—second hand, hearsay evidence is more than welcome—to re-education sessions. In one jurisdiction I know of, the re-education “goon” was a homosexual administrator. “Nice work if you can get it”, eh? Couldn’t the unions help? Well, no: they’re cut from the same activist cloth and are no use whatever. In fact, they’d doubly condemn the teacher. With such heavy, loaded guns aimed at their heads, no wonder teachers endeavour to keep them well below the ramparts!
    One can only imagine what would happen if an observant Christian ran for the Conservative Party and aggressively spoke out against society’s embrace of the LGBT(x3)TSI’s sexual agenda—for everyone. (Isn’t that a lack of diversity?) That teacher’s career would meet a sudden end. Of course, the Michael Ericksons of this world are given a free pass. One notices how like the OWS idiots Mr. Erickson is: he possesses a man’s body with the arrogance and lack of self-control of a toddler. But, hey, that’s what he’s been taught and allowed to get away with. I think ordinary people are really tired of this: “We’re mad as hell and aren’t going to put up with it anymore!” Let’s hope so. Thank God for SUN News. Finally, those of us who are thoroughly tired of the bullying of the activist, LGBT(x3)TSI community and their nasty, PC enablers have a powerful voice of dissent.

    I read a statistic the average same sex marriage last about five years. Gay people are promiscuous by nature and their life styles are flamboyant, shallow and frivolous. Although, they do have a keen sense of color.

  46. For dkjones and anyone else interested, while I do not have Telus television, I received a call from them trying to get me to change over to them. When I asked if they carried SNN the fellow checked and said no at which point I stated I would not be interested. I then went to their website and sent an e-mail to their customer relations suggesting that if they want to attract more customers she have to carry SNN. I received a reply stating that they are in the process of negotiating the launch of SNN. You may want to follow up on this and ask when to expect it.

I have many friends and relatives who now accept and even defend illogical viewpoints that 15 years ago they would have abhorred, simply because they had mantras repeated to them often enough. Anyone who chooses to think (even for a moment) about what Erikson says will see that his repetition of the word “diversity” is the ultimate hypocrisy. Diversity unless you divert from what I say.
