  1. Done! Thanks for that post.
The people at “Adbusters” are beginning to really irritate me. The whole “occupy” idea was THEIRS,and they’ve caused a lot of people a lot of trouble, not to mention all the money lost by merchants in the “occupy” zones, the misery for commuters.
Yet Adbusters gets off scott free.
To quote a great Canadian politician,”it ain’t fair”.

  2. The CBC website is a lost cause.
It’s posterboards are hangouts for paid leftist organizational brats, and the mods are leftwing dolts, banning posts that are not politically correct.
    it’s an echo chamber

  3. The CBC’s headline question — “Do you plan to Occupy Christmas this holiday season?” – speaks volumes about our state broadcaster, doesn’t it? I mean, a tiny minority of low-life, addled scumbags advocate revolutionary exploits, and our state broadcaster almost pruriently asks – as if it’s an open question – if their readers – “Canadians” – are going to participate in this radical action.
What a joke. The CBC is a rat’s-nest of propagandizing leftists, an obsolete holdover from the Trudeau era that promotes moribund, 1970s GTA-Liberal ideas about what Canada “really” is. Why should Canadian conservatives who don’t support the CBC’s political agenda be forced, year after year, to pay for the non-stop, coast-to-coast broadcasting of political viewpoints – anti-Israel, anti-free-speech, anti-free market, pro-big-union – that are entirely antithetical to their own?
The CBC headline that Kate linked to — “Do you plan to Occupy Christmas this holiday season?” — is asking, in effect, “Hey there, Canada, is there any chance you might be inclined to act in accordance with the directives of a tiny minority of radicals that we’re hyping because they’re anti-conservative?”
Why no, CBC, we’re not. Why do you ask?

  4. Isn’t ‘Adbusters’ effectively a one-man operation?
I seem to recall it was exposed, discredited and disgraced a few years ago as a rabid Jew-hating operation.
    What’s changed?
And why is our government mass-media arm promoting Adbusters?

  5. Speaking of the CBC:
Imagine wanting a channel, just one channel. Your cable provider tells you it would cost $60 a year to watch one channel on top of your regular fees. Now imagine the opposite, that you didn’t want this channel, but you had to pay for it anyways. That’s what the CBC is.

  6. EBD, exactly and well said.
My kids know how I feel about CBC and three of them agree, the fourth not so much, but she has been turned by her NDP husband.

  7. Poverty on native reserves is getting a lot of media attention lately. On any reserve the Chief and Council and their relatives don’t live like that. Nowhere in Canada is the disproportionate division between rich and poor more acute than on the reserves. More money will just increase the already rampant corruption and favoritism.
The money won’t be used to help the poor members, it will continue to disproportionately benefit the Chief and Council and their relatives. Of course nobody in the government wants to deal with that ‘elephant in the room’.

  8. Caught a CBC radio “report” which ridiculed the RCMP in Nelson, BC for placing surveillance cameras near a noted “graffiti artist”. The RCMP started monitoring the “artist” when he used a slogan from a video game which made some sort of violent statement.
They interviewed the “incredulous artist” who was shocked the RCMP didn’t “get” the reference. He found the cameras and returned them to the RCMPS.
The “reporter” ended the story snidely stating that the RCMP could even get their surveillance right.
Shoddy reporting. 1. Exactly how are the RCMP supposed to know that the graffiti wasn’t at threat? 2. Isn’t “tagging and graffiti” vandalism?
I wish someone would “tag” that reporter’s home, car, etc. Wonder if he would gush over being the recipient of this so-called art.

  9. Thanks for the link, always makes my day to screw up their world view. I’d be curious to know what they make of their results.

  10. I may not be caught up in the bank account destroying Festival of Mammon this year, but I’m certainly not “Occupying” the mall.
Maybe I’ll buy a cheapie RIM Playbook. Support Canada.

  11. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the “occupy” “movement” was a complete failure.

  12. Privatizing the CBC is not the answer. Do to it what was done to the Canadian Airborne Regiment. Fire all its staff. Turn its building into condos, sell all its equipment on ebay and auction off its bandwidth to the highest bidder.

  13. CBC’s Religion: Human Narcissism & Hubris.
CBC’s credo: “man’s triumph over nature.”
From which all left-liberalism’s blessings flow; a snowblower.

  14. cbc has no more credibility than the supermarket tabloids..
Difference being is that the tabloids don’t take themselves serious and cbc does..
Which only adds to the humor..

  15. I agree with you minuteman @ 3:09 – as my Grandmother used to say ‘you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear’.
North of 60 – have a look at Kelly Block’s new bill – posted earlier here at sda.

  16. The other cbc (ctv) just did an interview with some loon re Occupy Christmas out of Van.ctv desk-puppet Brad Giffen shared with all of Canada, that he and his family have chosen NOT to buy/exchange gifts this yr! My new hero…BARF.

  17. Nice to see the poll is going horribly wrong!
I added my No and the current numbers are:
    Yes 6.87%/69 votes
    No 92.43%/928 votes
    Not sure .7%/7 votes

  18. From the CBC article: ‘”I think the people who want to continue business as usual, making as much money this year as they made last year, I think they need to go deeper and look at the larger perspective,” said Adbusters co-founder Kalle Lasn.’
From the little anti-semite’s Wiki entry: ” He reportedly started Adbusters after an epiphany that there was something profoundly wrong with consumerism. It happened in a supermarket parking lot. Frustrated that he had to insert a quarter to use a shopping cart, he jammed a bent coin in so that the machine became inoperable. This act of vandalism was his first (quite literal) “culture jam” — defined as an act designed to subvert mainstream society.”
Deport him. How dare he immigrate to Canada in order to destroy it? What was wrong with the socialist paradise that was Estonia? Oh, and Kalle: Since you’re so generous with other people’s money, give back the $$$ you’ve collected over the years “produc(ing) documentaries for PBS and Canada’s National Film Board”.

  19. I wonder how the CBC website accounts for the jump in hits every time SDA lets it’s readers know there is a poll? That is why I don’t go to with any link to WK’s site precisely because the arrogant bastard will think the increase in traffic is support for his already inflated ego.

  20. Texas – it is funny, though, to imagine Warren curled up in a foetal position sobbing because all the hits to his site are coming from Kate’s.

  21. “there was something profoundly wrong with consumerism.”
I’ve had epiphanies like that in supermarket parking lots, sort of like…consumerism is bad…everybody should go home so I can park easily and buy stuff….

  22. So, asking a question and showing how people answered is biased and “left wing”? You people are insane.

  23. Every time I see a copy of Adbusters on the shelf at Chapters etc I rip the cover on it. Can’t be sold that way. Let’s see how they like it when WE start to fight back.

  24. No, Iberia, you dumb twit, framing a question in such a way is biased, misleading and phony. How about, “Do you find the Occupy movement as inane, ridiculous and as a big a failure as we do?” Would you consider that objective?

  25. Watsamatta Iberia? Don’t like it when the Silent Majority finally speak? We’re all just supposed to shut up while you and your boys set the policy?
Too late! Fat Elvis has left the building! We have MOVED ON .org, baby. You should too, or you’ll just end up even more of a bitter clinger. Or cling-on, if you prefer.

  26. Nah, what’s occupying Doc?
These two bit propagandists can barely occupy a water closet, still less a futile attempt to shut down Christmas.
Oh and I look at the calendar and lo and behold it’s the first day of Advent tommorrow.
Stuff that in your Christmas stocking…harrumph!
Add to that a hearty CHEERS

    Army Group “True North”

  27. 3 hours later, my comment still hasn’t passed approval. I guess i’ll have to write an email to the CBC ombudsperson.

  28. and of course it now seems that the poll has conveniently disappeared…not even on the ‘question of the day’…as is typical for cbc and other moonbat havens when something doesn’t go their way…they pretend it doesn’t exist then post excerpts from the piddling few who signed onto their drivel as ‘proof of a majority’…

  29. Reality is that CBC has become TSN surrounded by unwatchable programming. Take away the hockey and their outbidding private broadcasters for say the World Cup, nobody would watch them.
Mind you, CTV is not much better but at least it is paid for from my Bell bills and not my tax bills.

  30. The poll is still there.
However, only a nut would think “Do you plan to “Occupy Christmas” by boycotting holiday shopping this season? Can gift shopping, gift giving, and spending time with family and friends co-exist during the season?” is equivalent to “Do you find the Occupy movement as inane, ridiculous and as a big a failure as we do?”
And yes, Phatom, I am terribly upset that CBC ran a poll and then hid the results because they didn’t fit “the agenda”. Oh, wait…they didn’t hide anything. God, you are such a dolt.

  31. Funny how the use of “Christmas” is ok with the CBC for this weird negative poll question, and not the more PC euphemism “holiday” or “season”. What hypocrites.

  32. The occupussys never did get it right…..out of the 99%…they were only.00006%….so why do the press think that they represent the 99%…we work thats the big one…they don’t: or pay taxes.. when times are tough you take what you can in work….better days will come and better jobs…not for the welfare people…generation after generation…will still be on the public tit…//

  33. When the CBC is defunded — hopefully soon after the gun registry is scrapped — I will use my share of the money to buy a Ruger SR-22.

  34. Dear Adbusters: how does it feel to be responsible for the more than 300 serious crimes committed by your “Occupy movement”, including rapes, assaults and lethal drug overdoses, as well as several outbreaks of disease? Good thing you people don’t have consciences…

  35. Participation in the consumerism celebration that once was called Christmas is a personal choice. Go ahead and buy more disposable crap you don’t need with money you don’t have to make China even richer, if that’s what makes you happy. Ho-ho-ho!!

  36. Imagine if a story about this poll question were appearing on CBC News on TV. I guarantee you that at least 3/4 of the people they show in the clip would be in favour of stopping Xmas shopping.
In a nutshell, this is a perfect example of how the MSM lies to suit their own predetermined narrative.
