Bastards!” yelled purple-faced NFU board member and Alberta farmer Jan Slomp. “Hey, turn around! I’m coming for you!”
You have no idea the satisfaction I get from posting that.

sounds like something vexes him…
LOL
When is it the CBC’s turn?
Too bad Slomp doesn’t listen to himself saying “gullible, dumb farmers and mandatory” in the same tirade.
Terrible, really, that we have a government so bent on its ideology. If only they could govern according to the pragmatic “Slomp Doctrine,” whereby the most practical course is obviously the one that benefits as many Slomps as possible.
It’s been a long time coming but the time is finally here, members are being called to the house. Hopefully all the nuts in the pantry can’t stop it now.
“There’s too many dumb farmers ahh, the pervasive attitude of the ignorant left. We, the lowly non-elites are just too stupid for our own good.
“Slomp” Are you sure that’s not a typo? Sounds like it should be “Stomp”. My God, I might expect my three-year-old grandchildren to behave like that, but a grown man?
A socialist yoke is about to be cast away. Good riddance.
An old high school buddy who farms here in Alberta has flown to Ottawa to watch the demise of the Wheat Board. Then he and about 30 other farmers are dining with the PM in celebration of their new freedom. According to my friend his sentiment is summed up in that old spiritual MLK quoted, “Free at last. Free at last. Thank God Almighty we are free at last.”
Probably one of the first innovations to spring up will be micro-brewerys…making afrodisiac beer from malt barley grown on the Sask. potash deposits…
Farmer Slomp is mistaken. The CWB has been telling those lies he believes for rather more than twenty years.
I believe this is our man. (From a radio program in 2007 see link below)
I don’t see “wheat” or barley “farmer” anywhere in his credentials. Am I missing something here?
Jan Slomp – Farmer / Alberta Coordinator, National Farmers’ Union (NFU) (Rimbey, AB) – Born and raised in the Netherlands, landed as immigrants in Canada with his wife Marian and three children in the spring of 1989. They bought a small dairyfarm in Rimbey, central Alberta where their herd of 70-80 cattle are raised on grass. Jan is the Alberta coordinator of the NFU – a national organization that works toward the development of economic and social policies that will maintain the family farm as the primary food-producing unit in Canada.

What’s the problem, the guys who want to sell through the CWB,still can,no one’s forcing anyone to go it alone.
To the CPC, congratulations on the demise of the Communist Wheat Board (CWB).
Mandatory membership was required in 1943 to defeat the Nazis. Rumour has it that they were defeated, but the CWB holdouts will go down fighting with their scorched earth policy.
The CPC ran on allowing voluntary wheat sales to the CWB, that is what Canadians are getting. The NFU has some difficulty with the concept of democracy.
Add to that a hearty CHEERS

I can’t wait for it. You promise.
He must be losing a stipend or something…
At long last. Only the senate and royal assent to go. Free at last. When the NFU says something stupid it should not count as news. Only the unusual is news.
Kate, thanks for a job well done.
I just sent a letter to his email listed on the NFU site:

Dear Mr. Slomp,
Reference the impending demise of your beloved CWB: Suck it up, big boy.
Yours truly,
Jamie MacMaster
Interesting. I googled “Jan Slomp Professional” and got a dairy farm in Rimby, AB, or the NFU listings for Ontario. Where’s the grain farmer who, you know, will have their livelihood directly impacted (because they’re presumably a western grain farmer)?
When some yells at you like that.. tell them to get off their knees…..you do not need any more of their lip..the statist just hate free enterprise…
If there’s economic growth in small prairie towns I’ll try and find a way to move back. That part of the world is a little slice of heaven and opportunity there may just keep me in Canada.
Whenever government gets it’s claws out of anything , it’s a time for celebration .
marco, where have you been? Do you need a job? There’s thousands in most towns in Saskatchewan.
Re: microbrew.
Bakken Ale. Brewed with malt barley grown 100 yards from a drilling rig.
The world doesn’t have enough “purple faced” socialists.
Slomp is an idiot who upon arrival in this country has proceeded to tell the rest of us how stupid we are.
He is a dairyman with a self interest (read -dairy quota) who is worried that the marketing boards and supply management will be next on the Conservative agenda.
I hope it happens and Slomp and the rest of his communist buddies have to get a job and work for an honest living like the rest of Canadians.
Jan Slomp = tulip choker
I thought that when I saw the name
nederlund is full of lefties, but I see some escaped:-)))
Like most of the other Slomps, he was given his farm, never had to work about mortgage, cheap interest money from Holland, half to one percent. Shove it Slomp, we should not have to live under your spoiled brat doctrine, you speak for no one but yourself ass.
Jan Slomp is just a visitor from the Socialist Kingdom of the Netherlands. He left the Dutch Treat for freedom and opportunity in Canada and demands more of what he had in Holland. Dutch farmers are all the same…socialists to the core. Jeez I wish they would go home. Being half Dutch myself I feel it fair to say that it is all to typical of the Dutch when reason and democracy prevail they resort to the most childish of name calling and exemplify the shrill and shallow logic of a dying language and culture.
Have I mentioned that I’m really enjoying our new CPC majority? Bwahaha! ~:D
Jan Slomps: Dairy Farmer from Lacombe and NFU flunkie
Fred Lewing: foul mouthed Vetrinarian specializing in herd health and Greenpeace radical
Weibo Ludwig: Cult leader and nature nazi
One thing in common…Netherlands Socialism
“Hey, turn around! I’m coming for you!”
Sounds like a threat. Maybe the cops should get involved. Isn’t that what is supposed to happen in these circumstances?
or will yet another arrogant f-headed lefty get a pass?
Slomp:

wooden shoes. wooden head . wouldnt listen.
TheTooner @ 7:17 and Hans @ 7:22 are bang on.
Being a small scale dairy farmer I suspect that the retard has never grown a bushel of wheat in his life, but presumes to tell us how to market our wheat.
Thanks Kate for posting this.
It won’t be long and the milk board will be getting looked into.(well I can dream, cant I?)
Actually I seem to remember the Ozzies saying something about marketing boards and free trade not working well together.
The bear, you nailed it. That’s the left’s mentality, everyone who doesn’t agree with them is stupid and are believing so called “lies”. “Gullible farmers”, eh? And physically threatening people you don’t agree with? What a winner.
Wooden shoes keeps the woodpeckers off their heads.lol
AS an one time farm boy who stooked plenty of wheat and barley and worked on threshing crews in Gerry Ritz’s riding in the Lloydminster area I let out a big hip, hip hooray when I watched the vote being passed on the HOC. The CBC broadcast outright lied when their introduction dubbed it the dismantling of the CWB then allowed a lopsided discussion of the issue that claimed the farmers had voted for the CWB monopoly to be maintained. The only farmer vote taken was one run by the CWB itself which could hardly be said to be disinterested and fair. I suspect it was bald faced rigged to get the result they wanted and even then was only a small majority of a minority of wheat and barley growers.
“got a dairy farm in Rimby, AB, or the NFU listings for Ontario. Where’s the grain farmer who, you know, will have their livelihood directly impacted (because they’re presumably a western grain farmer”
Dairy farmers buy their feed directly from farmers and not through the Wheat Board, from the glut of grain deliberately left in the country to keep prices down. If a dairy farmer truly believed in the wheat board, he would buy his feed grain from it but he would be stupid if he did.
Nigel Powers: “There’s only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures and the Dutch.”
The cover article of the October 2011 issue of the Walrus Magazine was on Canadian farmers, farming and food security. Jan Slomp was featured as an good-hearted dairy farmer who produced healthy milk the natural way, without high-cost feeds and supplements that increase output but harm the cow. There was no mention that he derives monopoly revenue from Canada’s supply management scheme, nor of his side job as a political activist agitating to preserve it.
Why did they mislead me? Canadian media leaves me feeling violated.
Matt M, the magazine being the Walrus Magazine says it all as to the political leanings of their articles.
Let farmers decide whats best for them.
They own what they grow, not the government or a Union.
Thats how this city boy sees it.
Having worked on farms as a kid,one thing I noticed was that the commie Dutch NEVER raised any grain, all cows. Slomp should be deported back there for making threats against farmers.Where are the cops? Oh wait. Slomp is a leftie,so he gets a pass.
Now can we get an audit of the Communist Wheat Board and Wayne Easter?
And can we maybe start a Canadian Potato Board?
I wish my dad could be alive today to see this. For years he wanted to have an open market. He was a proud man and there had only been a few times in my entire life I had ever seen him tear up. I know this would be one of those moments.
Justthinkin @ 4:11 AM, Canadian Potato Board sounds like a project for the resident HOC Wheat Board expert and trumpeter, Wayne Easter, aka, Doorknob Easter.
The loopy left socialists are reeling, gun registry gone, Kyoto dumped and now the Wheat Board…
Now that the great bill has passed will the good old cwb quit advertising and trying to sue our democratically elected government. Stay out of my pockets and leave my cash alone. Might just have to go celebrate today.
Hmmm, does the end of the CWB monopoly combined with the end of the long gun registry, the withdrawal from Kyoto and the move to abolish Section 13, mean that the CPC is the only political party in the world that is actually reducing government control?
Oh my God! That’s the ‘scary conservative agenda’!
Everybody be sure to write your MP to show your support. Let’s keep the ball rolling.
