  1. In response to the question posed by the billboard, as a matter of fact, the answer is Yes.
Not the only reason, by any means, but it is one of the reasons.
    Eat it raw, commies.

  2. Facts? They are for the little people, not those of us elite politicians who know how the rest of you should live.
    Wankers, the lot of ’em.

  3. Ms. Vallerand said the image was put together by a graphic designer, but there was some “confusion” over the image.
The Gun Grabbers know little-to-nothing about guns except that they hate and fear them.
The problem isn’t guns, it’s these hatred and ignorance of these Leftists.
If only the NDP didn’t work so hard to make sure Gamil Garbi’s ilk could immigrate here.
Remember folks, guns don’t kill people, haters like Garbi and Commies who think like the NDP kill people.

  4. Excuse me. The dippers look at facts? Bwhahahahaha. They have only one plan…commie Russia…although they won’t admit it.
I told a dipper rep to get off my step when she knocked on my door. She asked why…I said my private property.Guess what? The only “private property” the dippers believe in is their own!
    Hypocrital a*%holes that they are.

  5. They’ve pulled the ad …given that the clip displayed is illegal.
In a rush, they replaced it with a Steyr HS .50 cal which weighs 30 lbs and costs $5K.
    The NDP are clearly incompetent.

  6. That gun is restricted basically because it looks like a automatic weapon but it is not. It shoots the same as all the other deer hunting guns with wooden stocks. Boy, that’s a big difference and those guns should totally be restricted – NOT!!!! Ooooo but it looks scary. Bah humbug! Next on my list to the Conservative government: get those guns off the restricted list.

  7. Let me guess, the three cities they plan to run the ads in are Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
    Right?

  8. gord: don’t forget, that model Steyr is also single-shot and has no magazine. Perfect for afternoon shooting sprees downtown.
Also, I believe part of the problem with the Tactical is the shorter barrel length.
For myself, scary-looking weapons are filled with more awesome.

  9. To a journalist, anything with treads is a tank.
To the NDP, anything with a barrel, a hand grip and a magazine is banned assault weapon.

  10. The signs are ominous, the NDP(Q)is imploding. It won as party but in truth, a party of ONE, that ONE died. What’s left? A party of twits who can’t shoot straight.

  11. AtlanticJim… two out of three.. No vancover… three signs, one in Trawna, two in qweeebec.
I’ve e-mailed a pic of the steyr in question with a lady to provide scale. Its pretty apparent its not an assault weapon, being as how you’d need an ATV to lug it around.. and its single shot.

  12. Right, for the Left (understand fascist) citzens must be disarmed, for it does make controlling and oppressing them so much easier. The ad is meant to prey on ignorant urbanites who know nothing whatsoever about guns. It won’t work on urbanites knowledgable about guns, but it will scare the others silly.

  13. Lets re-write that headline.
‘Dippers attempt to save the Marc Lepine memorial registry, proves industrial strength stupidity’
    Or how about:
Fear mongering attempt exposes dipper morons.
    or
Vegas gal, calls Ruger mini-14 cute, but all pointy and stuff.. Ask’s what the hole in front is for.

  14. Liz J: ” … the NDP(Q)is imploding.”
That’s for sure. ‘Good article on just that topic by Lysiane Gagnon in the Globe and Mail today:
    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/lysiane-gagnon/inexperience-costs-the-ndp/article2250149/
On top of their inexperience, they’re just too partisan/dumb to do anyone, including themselves, much good.
Their PR ineptitude also gets a column in the G&M: NDP ad backfires …
    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ndp-ad-backfires-with-use-of-wrong-gun/article2252213/

  15. It’s probably because the only guns graphic designers are familiar with are the ones they use in video games.

  16. Note to NDP,it’s not the only reason I voted Conservative, but it’s one of them.Kyoto, kangaroo HRC courts, the ceeb, lower taxes are some of the other reasons I voted Conservative, but this will do for now.

  17. Truth what truth. The NDP is about feelings not the truth. Like so many out there who think theory is more important than practical application. It about ideas and dreams it has nothing to do with living in the real world.
The scarier the weapon the better Thus twisting the truth of the problem

  18. I am a graphic designer and I recognize scare tactics and wedge politics. This is a reprise of the Liberal’s famous ‘guns in the streets’ ad. Why is it that the party that complains the most about PMSH’s nasty tactics, uses them? The ad is also disingenuous in that it suggests all us righty gun clingers can run out and buy a gun without any government supervision. Not so. Has not been for quite some time. The LGR was a political sop to the left. BTW, I do not own a gun and I live in the country. Thinking about it though.

  19. nmc… I understand ruger’ll give you a 10% discount if you reference the dipper ad whenyou buy..

  20. ” was another version of the Ruger Mini-14, the Ranch Rifle, that was used by Marc Lépine in the Polytechnique rampage.”
Oh sh*t,I apologize again for owning guns that I’ve never used illegally in 63 years. Forgive me.
    I’m sorry…times three million.
btw, those terrible guns enabled me to legally obtain about 450 pounds of moose meat this year,so my carbon footprint will be slightly smaller as I don’t have to go to the grocery store to buy beef.
But then,I’m not supporting the beef industry, which makes me feel guilt again,BUT cow farts are destroying the planet….
    I’m just SO confused. 🙁
The NDP makes it quite clear, vote them into power Federally, and none of us will have guns anymore.
    At least not legally.

  21. These are the same people who want drugs legalized, sex education taught to 6 year olds, and reduced jail terms for violent convicted felons. Nuff said really.
These idiots don’t know a thing about guns, they get all their life information from Hollywood because they are crazy fantasy prone drones that live amongst us and try to control our lives through their sick and distorted fantasy worlds.

  22. It’s nice to see the Socialist NDP show their true colors to their “Rural” electorate that they so carefully tried to hide last Nov 2010 during the registry debates.
Another gripe I have from ALL the political parties is the polarization of “Urban” verses “Rural”. People of all stripes own guns whether in the city or country, for allot of different reasons. The whole cultural shtick is a red herring to be used later as a divide and conquer for future gun control.
If you want to make it a cultural issue you need to see it as a “black” inner city issue as Rex Murphy once brilliantly laid out. That is a problem that has again been created by the leftosphere of western countries. Solve the Black crime and Liberal drug issues and you solve the so called gun issue.

  23. Perhaps the dippers should be reminded that there are almost 7 thousand mini-14’s in Canada, at an average value of $800 for rifle and accessories. For the last 20 years, there have been no crimes with one, and more importantly – no crimes with a registered mini-14. Perhaps if a mini-van is used in a hit and run, we should ban them all?
I own a mini-14, and it does exactly what it was promised to do. Short ranch rifle for protection against varmints. I have chickens and they attract Coyotes. Thanks to my mini, I have no coyote problem.

  24. Robinns 111- I was thinking more along the lines of a bird gun. Two barrels and the ability to use bird shot. Not terrible accurate but gets the job done without being fatal, well unless you are a bird!

  25. Well I for one am offended deeply by that billboard. Anyone that pimps out a mini like that should be shot with it! If you want an AR15, BUY an AR15. The Mini14 is an expression of utalitarian elegance the way it comes – right out of the box!
Those friggin scum sucking dipper commies are the reason I own guns like that.

  26. I know someone who had a mini 14. Not a bad little rifle until the bolt head snapped off. Then Ruger wouldn’t sell him another one unless he sent the whole rifle back to them for repair. Not much of a Ruger fan after that.

  27. The truly awesome irony here, utterly lost on the NDPee moron-itariate, is that the Ruger Mini-14 Tactical and the Mini-14 Ranch Rifle are -identical- except for purely cosmetic issues.
What makes a Tactical different than a Ranch amounts to racing stripes on a Mustang.
And for my taste, the walnut stock makes for a stronger, straighter shooting piece. Not a fan of folding stocks, they tend to wiggle. Wiggling is bad.
Besides, no more “safeguards” is EXACTLY why I voted Conservative, thank you very much.

  28. wnmc Ruger makes shotguns as well.
But the guys in the factory must be just peeing themselves with laughter..
Best advertisment in years, provided by the ND-Bloc

  29. minuteman / The Phantom >
I own a mini 14, purchased back in the early 90’s and it is a piece of crap. Has a super thin barrel which they have since tried to improve a little with a thicker taper from the receiver. They’re still not very accurate unless you buy or make an “Accu Strut” or “H Bar” stabilizer.
As Ruger didn’t provide scope mount grooves for the earlier models, I put on an ATI stock that looks identical to the one in the photo along with an Aimpoint long eye relief red dot scope (like a scout rifle) on a picatinny rail to help improve accuracy. It’s still a piece of crap, but on a very good day I might be able to squeeze 4” groups @ 100y out of it. About the same as I can do with an open site .357mag Marlin lever action, whoopee.
These clowns don’t have a clue.

  30. PS: Was not knocking Ruger above, just the mini 14. I have a few other Rugers that are very reliable and TOUGH. My opinion is that Ruger generally is great value for the overall quality.

  31. Another example of the Queerbec moonbats shooting themselves in the foot. I have some neighbors who vote NDP but own guns and see nothing wrong with carrying a pistol on them for self-protection. They’re union types but I suspect there might be some new Conservative voters in my area if the NDP becomes primarily an urban moonbat party.
The one complaint I have about my Mini-14 is that I can only buy a 5 round mag for it in Canada. Spray and pray when coyote hunting requires at least a 30 round mag. Where I agree with the NDP is that it should be illegal to use the Mini-14 for shooting people; I wouldn’t use that rifle for any animal larger than a coyote given the underpowered round. Nice rifle, fun to shoot but definitely not one that I’d carry in the bush if I was worried about bears.

  32. Well I disagree the NDP were ignorant or didn’t do due diligence….I suspect they deliberately did a “bait and switch”….just like they refer to Ghamal Gharbi as Mark Lepine to suppress his true motive….
Something else they picked up from the LIBRANOs….who always featured the image of a fully auto Kalashnicov, complete with a high capacity, banana magazine, with their gun gun control agenda.

  33. Loki >
Precisely, there’s nothing worse than the shoot themselves in the foot hypocrites. My blood always boils when I hear rifle shooters knocking handguns, or shotguns etcetera. It’s either hang together or hang separately with gun politics.
Another complaint with my mini 14 is the 7 – 1 inch twist which is far too fast for any non FMJ bullets. I once tried some of the 45gr varmint rounds and they exploded (disintegrated) into powder fragments about 20ft from the gun in mid air. Very weird, like a little black puff of smoke and vanish.
I’m forced to hand load +60gr @ 2700 fps to ensure consistent bullet dependability, which pretty much negates any velocity terminal effects the round is supposed to be famous for.

  34. I think sasquatch nailed it. Optics, not ignorance guided the NDP choice. I don’t know how they missed the opportuntity to include a photo of Nazi infantrymen in battle, firing StG 44’s.

  35. Sasquatch >
“..complete with a high capacity, banana magazine…”
I think you meant standard capacity magazine, high capacity for an AK is a 100 rnd drum. The lefties have us all singing their tune these days. We’ve been shooting neutered capacity magazines for a decade now, nothing standard about them.

  36. sasquatch nails it.
The radical left needs an unarmed population to facilitate implementing their agenda.
What is a good brand of semi-auto 22 caliber to buy for varmints including coyotes.

  37. Iberia said: “I’m looking forward to ordering one of these for Christmas:”
…and then links to a “CZ 750 Sniper”.
Ooooo, SNIPER!!! You people are funny when you attempt to generate snark outside your narrow, tiny little area of knowledge.
Its a bolt action rifle, you incomparable moron. In fact, it is a Mauser bolt action rifle no different than the GEW98 issued in the 1890s. Take any antique Mauser, stick a scope on it and SHAZAM! you’ve got a rifle with “an effective range of 800 yards” “ideal for use by the elite military and law enforcement snipers it was designed for.” Doesn’t even have a pistol grip.
Truly, you NDPee types are dumber than a bag of hammers. Rubber hammers, even.
You know Iberia, I used to have one of these:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_FAL
    And one of these:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valmet_M76
    And two of these:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Mauser
    and two of these:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gewehr_98
    and three of these:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee-Enfield
And despite having that arsenal in my closet with probably 1000 rounds of ammo, I managed to not shoot anybody (or myself) for the ten years I lived in the States.
Thanks to mindless dolts like yourself I had to sell ALL THAT STUFF before I came home to CanaDUH back in the day. And it p1ssed me off, I have to say.
But -now-, since you retards have been -defeated- and I’m no longer required to -license- my stuff, I’m going to get it alllll back. Yes indeedy doody, Chez Phantom will be packing heavy as soon as that registry is toast. Won’t be long now.
And do you know what Iberia? I know a guy in AZ who builds custom rifles that make the CZ 750 look like a peashooter. .300 WinMag, 1/4 minute of angle accuracy, hits like a freight train out to almost a mile. I am definitely going to get me one of those.
Because why? Because you LOST. It sucks to be you. Maybe you should go hide under the covers now.

  38. I would like to propose a new government safeguard, in the same spirit as the one above, that everybody (but the Lib’s and Dip’s – no guns in it to foam-at-the-mouth about) will surely support wholeheartedly.
From now on, let’s make it illegal to walk beside a road if you are not facing traffic – sidewalks or no – and rigorously enforce it, with hefty fines and jail terms of up to five years for violators. This will make it seriously inconvenient – especially on one-way streets – but if even one life is saved, it will be worthwhile.
    – And in the spirit of Pit Bulls killing fewer people in Ontario than the guy who banned them, you’ve gotta admit that this ‘safeguard’ of mine will very likely save more lives than the long gun registry ever did!

  39. I just went to the linked NDP site and have just one question;
Does anyone know the time and place of the 2 billion dollar bonfire Harper is hosting? I’ll be there with all the firewood my truck will carry and 2 coolers, one full of meat, the other, beer.

  40. Ken (Kulak) >
“What is a good brand of semi-auto 22 caliber to buy for varmints including coyotes”.
Centerfire – any of the good quality AR platforms would be my choice, from Colt, to Rock River Arms, to Swiss Arms. Unfortunately they are all RESTRICTED in Canada that’s why so many own the mini 14.
Rimfire – lots of good choices but .22 LR is pretty light for coyotes in my opinion. Bang for buck it’s hard to beat Rugers 10/22 with a 25 round mag $230.00, expensive would be a Browning $610.00. I find CCI ammunition the best for dependability but the most expensive. Fast 32gr CCI Stinger ammo is great for small game, but you want at least the 40gr for bigger varmints (CCI velocitor). Federal 38gr is the best budget ammo I’ve used.
For the little coyote hunting I do these days it’s hard to beat a good bolt action 25-06 Rem with a heavy barrel. You can load with 75gr bullets to 3600fps for explosive varmenting, 100gr bullets to 3200fps for long range coyote sniping, or 117 – 120gr for deer & antelope, even elk by some people I know. This is a very light recoiling, standard length round with a superb ballistic trajectory out to 500 yards or more if needed IMO.
