  1. Man, they did a number on this guy. I suppose with that much smoke, there’s probably some fire. The Republican pool is getting kind of shallow. I’m afraid Obama’s chances are getting better. If Romney picks Newt as a running mate, and lets him do most of the debating, they might still pull out a win.

  2. Obama’s friends done gone and lynched themselves an N-Word. Such a crime. What motivated the last woman to come forward and tell the world she was a slut, exchanging money for sex? Amazing. She got her 15 minutes.

  3. If the man has been cheating on his wife for thirteen years ,he is not fit for office. It is a matter of personal integrity.
A one time affair,I can accept. Serial indiscretions show a lack of morality. You dance with the one you brought,or you tell her that you are leaving, and then leave.b The man is a cad.

  4. Spectacular flameout by Cain. Besides Ron Paul, he was the only candidate I liked. He had some bold ideas in terms of tax and regulation reform. Considering the amount of skeletons in Cain’s closet, I am surprised he even attempted a presidential run.
Cain’s various excuses came across as lame. He reminds me of a guy I worked with who was a well-known womanizer. He was hitting on an acquaintance of mine at the bar and when she asked him about his wife, he replied, “We have an understanding”. From what we gathered “the understanding” was that he cheated and she didn’t know about it.

  5. Cain’s foreign policy knowledge was too thin to make him a legitimate contender. The media actually did the GOP a favour on this one…would have been much worse if he had won the nomination before the train wreck began.

  6. I too don’t think Cain was the man for the job.
Mind you, neither are Perry and Newt! Good lord – all Obunghole needs is a gentle push to make him hang himself – and the repubs can’t even manage that!
If I had my way Sarah would still be in the game.

  7. The first ones were oppo research that found out he had allegations made against him. Not proven but they nicked him.
This last one, and who knows if the Cain opponents knew about her, absolutely did him in. He lost all personal credibility on that one, 13 year “relationship” that involved exchanges of money…..well this is why primaries are worthwhile…..better now than after he was the nominee

  8. Soooo, as far as the media is concerned – hand on her knee – then not fit to be prez, eh?
On the other hand,- forced sexual favors, cigar treatment, blow on dress, multiple charges of sexual harassment from good looking women,.. on and on during his whole life and yet the media gives him a pass and promotes him with fawning speaking engagements for ever and ever complete with ‘best prez ever’ columns and TV specials.
Double standard ?? Naw, their guy has the morally correct ideology. Thats all that matters to the left liberal crowd. They know whats best for us.

  9. “If the man has been cheating on his wife for thirteen years ,he is not fit for office.”
Kinda rules out most Democrats . .
    Roosevelt
    Kennedy
    Clinton

  10. I have to admit – I don’t get it.
As others have pointed out, the Democrat candidates, including the beloved Kennedy and Clinton were well-known, factually proven, womanizers. Yet no-one bothered to complain and no-one deemed them unfit for office.
With Cain, the early allegations were unproven, and made by women with a history of financial and harassment problems.
This latest claim – and at no time did I hear the woman say it was a sexual relationship but a ‘relationship’ and ‘he gave me money’ followed the same trend: a woman with a history of financial problems and harassment charges.
These certainly don’t sound like sexual affairs.
So- who paid these women to suddenly come forward with these claims?
I’m going to speculate but I think the Democrats are trying to run the GOP nomination! Yes, sounds paranoid, but remember, Obama’s campaign history, ever since he got into politics, has been run this way. He has, again and again, removed all opponents by the same tactic: accusations in the media of sexual affairs. Check it out; he’s done this again and again.
I suspect that the Democrats would like Gingrich to be the nominee. Sure, he can talk and he’s smart; he’s also old Washington and that’s not good.
I hesitate about Romney. He’s so slick; he’s almost Ken to Barbie. He tells you what you want to hear. So does Obama. What he’s good at, is debating – and he knows his stuff. But…I still hesitate and change my mind day by day..
I still think Perry is a good bet; he’s not a debater or talker. [And he’s been in a lot of pain due to his back surgery; I don’t know how he managed to stand up for so long during those debates – must have used massive painkillers.]
    So – I’d go for Romney-Rubio. Or Romney-Pawlenty.
    Or Perry-Rubio.
I think, I suspect, I wonder…but I think the Democrats want Gingrich to be the nominee and they’ll move in to smash him for his baggage..

  11. And in a related development:
Monica Lewinski is voting Republican in the next election.
She stated: “The Democrats left a bad taste in my mouth.”

  12. Hey ET, careful there with the “Ken” analogy. Other than that, great analysis.
    ron in kelowna nails it.
The bomb throwers win another one.
I like Newt, but am concerned about the ambush the Democrats will be setting for him. Too bad Rubio is not running.

  13. Watched as much as I could stomach on messnbc today. It was just despicable, vile vomit-inducing stuff.CNN wasn’t much better. WHY can’t people see that the media for the most part are NOT doing their job, that they destroy people for partisan reasons.I need to shower after sitting thru that.

  14. Ask moocheele about that former Bammy Campaign Finance woman who had SFA to do with finance and was moved out of the country after Moochelle found out.
    Where’s that story?

  15. Herman Cain may have figured that even if he had been guilty of serial womanizing and plagiarism he might eventually get his birthday recognized as a national holiday.

  16. Was thinking about this for awhile and I am starting to believe that for America (re: the American voter) will never have a candidate that will be the answer or the messiah that they want. To have a candidate to topple Obama will not appear. Given the disillusionment, apathy, and whatever else affects the voter, I feel that in order for America to survive, if not revive itself, will be up to the individual states to take the bull by the horns and to challenge the federal level and the president themselves.

  17. Ah yes, Ken, it is an unfortunate name..to be linked, sigh, forever, ..with Barbie.
But I’m concerned about the ‘constant’ in Obama’s campaign strategy – and this constant is that he always, always, vilifies his opponents. Personally.
Remember how Sarah Palin was vilifed. McCain, who was the wrong candidate anyway in my view, essentially disappeared in the 2008 campaign.
His whole political history has seen that tactic used again and again; every step of the way. Sexual complaints are the easiest and he’s done that in several races (senator) and of course, his tactics of inciting adversarial group-divisions (race, class, ethnicity) are well-known.
So, Cain was moving up – and the Democrats/Obama want Gingrich as the nominee. Then, they’ll move in, and Gingrich has a LOT of baggage – financial deals (with Fannie and Freddie!), backroom deals, and his several marriages. The issues will be lost in the uproar over the personal. Obama will come out of it looking like a White Rose.
Remember, the decision won’t be made just on the basis of the debates! Sure, Gingrich is great at debates. But…his baggage will be what the public will hear about, read about on an hourly, daily basis. It will be relentless and no-one will bother about issues.
And that’s exactly what the Democrats want. They do NOT want the issues, such as the economy, jobs, foreign relations, energy devt, discussed. No way. They want image. The image of Obama as a pure noble clean Being. And Gingrich as a corrupt cronyist capitalist.
    That’s what it’s all about.

  18. As a married man of 42 years, my main issue with the last one — the alleged affair — was that if the relationship was innocent he should have fully briefed his wife about it. He should have discussed his desire to help out this person financially while reassuring his wife that there was nothing to it beyond that, and kept her in the loop. And can he have been that dumb as to run for the POTUS with those sexual harrassment settlements in his background.
Up to when he admitted paying money to this woman over so many years without his wife’s knowledge, I was with him. No more.
As to the differential treatment of Dems and Repubs in the realm of sexual dalliances, the whole subject is trite. We really ought to grow up and stop wynging about MSM/Dem hypocrisy and take it as a given for all time.
Finally, as mentioned on other threads, his instantaneous playing of the race card with the first accusations and his descent into madness wearing that PIMP HAT made me very doubtful about him. That he’s no worse than his Dem competitors matters not one whit to me; what matters to me is CHARACTER. Bachmann and Palin have it. Clearly he doesn’t.
ET is right. Obama has used this ploy from the very beginning of his criminal career. Oh, and ET, I presume you’ve read about Andy Stern’s commie manifesto op-ed!? He’s a very close confidante of The Thug in the WH.

  19. ET,
I think the GOP ticket you will see if romney is the nominee
    Romeny-McDonnell
    http://www.governor.virginia.gov/AboutTheGovernor/mcdonnell-bio.cfm
Apparently his Conservative cred is deep and being a governor he has experience as well as deep GOP roots, managing the party is always important. Moves Virginia back to GOP realm likely.
I think he makes the electoral politics look good, shores up the conservative wing and gives is a strong choice as both a back up and in the mechanics of government. Getting “stuff” done in year one is going be critical for the GOP winner.
Reality is there isnt much time to undo the financial and bureacratic damage the “O” crew have done. I find it chilling when Obama says “I need another term to finsih the job”….yup one more term on the current path should just about do it.

  20. stephen – I’d agree that a Romney-McDonnell ticket would be excellent. I think McDonnell’s continuity and stability of political life as a conservative would counter Romney’s ‘flip-flop’ image, and Romney’s experience and debating skills would function very well in the public view.
My concern is Gingrich. I don’t want him because the Democrats do- for the reason that the Democrats cannot, absolutely cannot, discuss the issues that are vital to the US: the economy, jobs, the private sector economy, tax reform, health care etc…Obama doesn’t want his record and issues discussed.
So, they want Gingrich in as the nomineee. That will ensure that no issues are ever brought to light. In the MSM it will be hourly salicious debates about Gingrich as the very epitome of corrupt corporate cronyism – and that term will taint the whole GOP image.

  21. While some would say that because the Dems are willing to ignore their candidates dalliances the GOP should do the same. My point is that since the perpetrators of said dalliances were so bad for the Republic the GOP’s stand against sexual misconduct is a reasonable stand to take.
To make a comparison which candidate would you choose? A philandering PET or a monogamous PM Harper. Personally I would take PM Harper for the simple fact he is more likely to do what is best for others rather than fulfill his own lusts. I seriously doubt that PM Harper is going to be accused of pocketing billions from the sale of some oil company his family just happens to own.

  22. Cain was interesting but he just couldn’t figure stuff out. He did most of this to himself the media is not the primary problem here. That leaves Huntsman as the only electable one worth supporting over Obama.

  23. Stepped in a pie of Schadenfreude thought I’d share.
Read how complicated and costly it is to hide John Edwards’ “beast-with-two-backs”ing.
    Nice Melon, Felon.
“Bunny Mellon, the 101-year-old socialite who provided the bulk of nearly $1 million used to support Edwards’ pregnant mistress, Rielle Hunter, as he ran for president in 2007”
“As a trial lawyer, if there is a good chance I will be needed at the trial to testify, then I would not want to be part of the trial team,” Smith said in an interview with The Associated Press. “It would be very awkward, and really inappropriate.”
Edwards has pleaded not guilty to six felony and misdemeanor counts related to campaign finance violations. A trial is scheduled to begin in January.”

  24. I hope he went home at Thanksgiving and enjoyed his time with his wife and family. Then said to himself I’m an old man with a good life and the price of retail politics is way higher than $9.99 — just not worth it. I hope the allegations weren’t true. It was a great ride, I was cheering for him even though the thought of putting an untested politician into the POTUS chair conjured images of a recent experiment that is not working well!

  25. All the sex stuff is irrelevant to me. Cain just doesn’t have the chops to run the country. I don’t know how many of you saw his answer to the question on Libya – he sat there for over half a minute, stuttering and stalling, before lamely saying he disagreed with Bambam’s policy, and then couldn’t give any specifics when asked a follow up.
As I’ve said in the past, I doubt the Joint Chiefs sit eagerly around the table, waiting for Bambam’s latest nugget of military strategy. Nonetheless, he had the smarts to accept their recommendations on how to proceed in Libya, and the policy worked, insofar as it got rid of Q-Daffy, and didn’t cost any Allied service personnel. Of course, it left behind a power vacuum that will inevitably be filled by another Islamist theocracy, just as Egypt is, but that’s going to continue until the West has the cojones to confront the Islamists. I’m not holding my breath.
Cain’s 9-9-9 plan was simplistic, but better than the current 8,000 pages of tax code. Other than that, I can’t think of a single thing that Cain brought to the campaign, other than his colour, which we’re supposed to ignore, right?
My biggest question is how will the media contort themselves to ignore Ron Paul after he wins Iowa?

  26. Cain may or may not have the “chops” to be POTUS but I am sick of these comments when the idiot occupying the white house is beyond incompetent. If the GOP continues to let their candidates be selected and vetted by the hostile and corrupt MSM then heaven help us all. Gingrich comes with more baggage than an opera diva. Romney is a statist with a distinct leftist bent. Paul is a libertarian who has some intriguing thoughts on economics but his foreign policy “chops” are beyond stupid. The balance of the field has been thoroughly dismissed and that is a shame. I think Rick Santorum deserves a serious look. Huntsman should go back to China; he’s a democrat fercrisake. Bachman’s biblical bias makes her unelectable. There, now I feel better.

  27. Like the guy but come on – did anyone really think “they” would let him get there? There are several kinds of assasination. You’ve just witnessed one of them.
Good night, Herman. At least they left you with breath to carry on.

  28. This situation smells alot like the Ross Perot thing years back. Has left alot of people saying WTF just happened? May I suggest a closer look at Rick Santorum. Or Michel Bachman. At least they are not rino’s.

  29. Just goes to show how big Sarah Palin’s stones are. Mr. Cain folded after a few months of the media flame thrower, she’s been standing in that fire since 2007.
Character assassination -of conservatives- seems to be on the rise. Maybe they should start vetting their candidates a bit better. Cain might be pure as the wind driven snow, but it really doesn’t matter. Dems are making stuff up at this point, the Republican nominee is going to need a teflon hide.

  30. Funny how Bill Clinton’s affair with Gennifer Flowers — for which there was actual evidence, including incriminating phone tapes — wasn’t a stumbling block to his presidential candidacy as far as the media was concerned.
As for John Edwards, the MSM ignored his mistress for as long as they possibly could, only “breaking” the story when they were finally scooped by the National Enquirer.
But the MSM pursued the rumours about Cain (a popular black Republican challenging a black Democrat president) on a 24/7 basis. CNN in particular just couldn’t seem to get enough of them.
    Odd, really.

  31. “suppose with that much smoke, there’s probably some fire. The Republican pool is getting kind of shallow.” – coach
Coach, that’s the point of that character assassination. Getting people to assume (with not a shred of credible evidence, mind you!) that “where there’s that much smoke, there’s probable some fire”.
I strongly suggest you start reading about this Obama-Machine-Character-Assassination by reading Ann Coulter’s 11/30 essay Once You Go Conservative Black, You’d Better Watch Your Back”.
We’re going to see a lot more of this gutter politics by Obama & Co. -aided and abetted by the MSM- over the next year, because they don’t have a single damn positive thing to run on.

  32. Personally I don’t care what politicians are up to in their personal life as long as it doesn’t affect what political decisions they make. It seems that any male who is in a political position ends up with female groupies and I’ve always found it curious that it’s considered normal for DemocRats to have multiple sexual partners whereas it’s considered the height of hypocrisy for Republicans. The biology is identical and the only time it should be a subject of discussion is if the politician has a strong stand on absolute monogamy.
With Cain gone from the race it’s back to hoping that Ron Paul will get in. The problem is finding someone who can wipe the floor with bambam but get elected. The former is easy for any of the Republican hopefuls as bambam is simply unable to debate and has absolutely no ideas of his own relying on the TOTUS. The hard part is convincing a sufficient fraction of the parasitic population of the country to either stay home on election day or vote for someone who won’t be running on a platform to impose a uniform level of poverty on everyone.

  33. Herman Cain should keep his indiscretions private.
In order to become president he should have high moral standards and control his sexual urges..
    Bill Clinton
    “Hi! there sweet thing,
    are you married?”
    “Yes I speak Canadian.”

  34. I notice “Newt” chugs along just fine. I wonder why the machine has never turned on him? Its not like he’s a Virgin or anything. Not that Cain didn’t help his own demise. If you have secrets be sure, unless your Obama protected by money, powerful men, with a dishonest Media, they will come out.

  35. ET
“I’m going to speculate but I think the Democrats are trying to run the GOP nomination!”
    Ya think? Duhhh…
They are not trying they are succeeding. The DemoncRAT/MSM alliance nominated both McCain and buckwheat last time out and but then essentially panicked when McCain picked Sarah Palin and transparently went into derangement mode(they had lost control) and finally defeated her….they already had set up McCain to lose. Blatantly….transparently…
It has been obvious to me, right from the start, that Romney was the DemoncRAT/MSM alliance nomination for Republican candidate….
The MSM has all but ignored Romney and systematically, with considerable success, eliminated all other front runners…
The Republicans have sensed this and to an extent have adopted an “anyone but Mitt” stance/mentality…….we shall see.

  36. I cannot see why anyone would support Romney. I’d rather Obama win again. Romney has essentially the same policies as Obama and since he has an R by his name, Congress would support his insanity where they at least put up some resistance to Obama. This is not going to end well or peacefully. This is a mess we can’t vote our way out of when you have two parties that differ only by the areas of your life they want to control the most. Both are BigGov, authoritarian statists.

  37. Simon Jester is absolutely right Obama has done just about all the damage he can Romney would be worse.
And stop it with this crap about the MSM running the GOP nom. The idiots of the GOP rank and file are doing this to themselves.

  38. Dave in Pa at 11:45 P.M. “I strongly suggest you start reading about this Obama-Machine-Character-Assassination by reading Ann Coulter’s 11/30 essay ‘Once You Go Conservative Black, You’d Better Watch Your Back’. Including Fox News, except for Sean Hannity, who is fair.
Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Martin Luther King was interviewed by Charles Adler on SunTV News. She’s extremely supportive of Herman Cain and called the allegations an attempt at character assassination. The woman is conservative, astute and eloquent. I’ve read and listened to statements made by Ginger White. She comes off as very unreliable and the press/media probably deliberately obfuscated the ‘details’ of the scanty ‘evidence’ presented by White re. their supposed “on again, off again,” “casual,” “simple,” “13-year-long affair” where the consistency appears to be all about her needing money. Why are all the women gold diggers? Despite being in continual dire straits financially, they all seem to be able to afford high priced Democratic lawyers.
Why do you think David Axelrod left the White House to focus on Obama’s campaign? He’s the fixer!
The liberal media keeps saying what coach said, that the Republican field of candidates is shallow. Yet, watching the debates as an interested Canadian, I see a lot of depth, strength and intelligence in those candidates. The well-run debates, such as the one that was hosted by Wolf Blitzer, are worth the time to listen and learn. There are no lightweights!
Don’t count Herman Cain out yet. “Suspended” is what his campaign is, not “ended.” I hope his detective is GOOD.

  39. I think this next election really matters. Obviously Obama is incompetent at best at criminal most of the time; obviously it’s vital to get him out of power. But it should also be obvious that whoever replaces him has to be able to do what’s needed to get the US back on its feet. Anybody would be better than Obama; but not just anybody will be good enough to do the job.
So, much as I like Cain, if he doesn’t have the stones to stand up to a cheap-shit smear campaign like this, he needs out be out of the race. He can find a lot of other ways to serve his country. And another candidate can win and make it worth winning.

  40. Just watched Geraldo Rivera, who tried his best to be judge, jury and executioner of Herman Cain, get chewed up and spit out by Niger Innes, who just spent time with Herman and Gloria in Georgia. Rivera ended up the loser, again.

  41. Oh no, I’m not a citizen of the USA, but Herman “Pizza” Cain was my favorite :(( *sob*
