You know you’re on the side of light when….

AP:

Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez has signaled a preference in the U.S. presidential campaign by comparing Mitt Romney to his own challenger.
Chavez, who is up for re-election a month before U.S. President Barack Obama, has in recent weeks expressed a clear preference for the man currently in the White House.

  1. I dare say all world Leaders who aren’t friendly to or are competitive with the U.S. hope Obama the Weak will win.
Only place where the people still love him unequivocally is their Northern neighbour, Canader, which is strange as THEIR Leader, Stephen the Bad, is the anti-Obama.
    Must be wishful thinking.

  2. These are strange days dmorris, strange days indeed.
Note: I just threw up a little after quoting Lennon.

  3. dmorris @ 10:30 pm – only place that people love him unequivocally is their Northern neighbour, Canada, which is strange as THEIR Leader , Stephen the bad , is the anti-Obama –
Where did you get that strange idea – if the US goes down, so does Canada. So …

  4. joe, without putting words in dmorris’ mouth, I expect he meant the left in Canada, which would be the NDP, Liberal and the media parties.
It is not surprising the Chavez would root for his ideological soul mate.

  5. Well of course Yugo is for the Zero. They both want the same thing.Birds of a feather and all.

  6. Pretty impressive list of endorsements…. All the world’s leading despots….

  7. Hugo Chavez might well admire the disgusting Obama. After all, Obama is more anti-American that he is, and has the distinction of nationalising GM.
I don’t know where V. Putin’s preferences lie. They are probably conflicted.
Personally Putin shows every sign of contempt for the preening metrosexual. Furthermore, Russia is a lot closer to the Middle East than the US is, and probably has considerable concern about upheaval in the Middle East. On the other hand, M. Romney’s weird idea that Russia is the no. 1 geopolitical problem for the US
doesn’t seem to be going over well among Putin etc.
It really is a problem. The no. 1 geopolitical threat for the US is radical Islam, as has often been discussed on SDA.
The no. 2, which is an equivocal threat, is China. No. 1 threat, radical Islam, has demonstrated that it will do as much harm as it possibly can,
and furthermore has a highly exportable contagious ideology. Both points differentiate it from the other geopolitical hazards.
