On another thread Robert linked to a video in which Ezra asked the – obviously rhetorical – question of what the media reaction would be if conservative politicians had threatened to deny a business license to some progressive-like business (a “Lush” store, or a gay bookstore), and said “you don’t have our (American) values, so I’m not just going to speak out against you, I’m going to take away your legal right to do business.” As he and guest Kathy Shaidle both noted, it would unquestionably be treated (covered) as an outrage and a *massive* scandal, not just be a huge, front-page story, but an international one.
We just have to accept that progressives’ “standards” are malleable to the point of being non-existent, and are always adjusted moment-by-moment, to their liking, in the interest of winning at all costs. All actions undertaken by their tribe are evidence of pure, sweet justice, and equality, and progress, but if conservatives were ever to use the left’s tactics it would be deemed as self-evident proof of backwardness, injustice, and inequality.
The good thing is that a lot of people are getting sick and tired of the bias, hypocrisy, and double-standards of the dinosaur media, as evidenced by both the decline in newspaper subscriptions/revenue and the decline in ratings for CNN and the other networks, with the notable exception of Fox News who are slaughtering these other networks.

Well, if they will accept cash from “ford” perhaps rush limbaugh could search his sofa cushions for a couple of mill and buy – err- donate to the LAT and The NYT.
The MSM black out does not matter. They do not convey the news to the population at large any longer. They have a constituency that is shrinking for this very reason.
More people know about this than the MSM echo chamber will ever admit. And that is why they are not waiting for the asteroid.
If journalists had brains they’d be writing flattering Chick-Fil-A stories as they’ll be applying for jobs there soon.

Newspapers are owned. This is why many stories, such as this one are suppressed. The major newspapers have government informants or agents posing as journalists or editors within their ranks.
The LBGT community has had their eye on Chick-Fi-la long before the COO stating support for traditional marriage in a remote Baptist publication. It was the LGBT community themselves that started the firestorm.
AS for Adam Smith, was the CFO of Vante Pharmaceuticals. His behavior can and does directly affect stock prices. If he had not been fired by the board, the stockholders would have demanded his firing.
Executive Officers are held to a higher standard for this very reason. Further, executive officers, and all staff who work in corporate head offices, are required to sign ethical conduct agreements. I worked in the corporate head office of a Fortune 50 company, we all had to sign ethical conduct agreements. I was not an executive officer or manager.
If the lefties succeed in shutting down Chick-Fil-A, I wonder where a certain minority group is going to buy their suppers.

Judging by the support for Chick-Fil-A with thousands willing to wait in lines that stretched for blocks, I would venture that the sick puppy brigade shot themselves in the foot with this one. Perhaps they will yet learn that tolerance is a two way street and what is considered normal is still open to debate. So refreshing to see a lack of political correctness by a CEO.
