  1. “A new poll reveals a large majority Canadians think their government is corrupt.”
There fixed it for you for the general case.
And for the record I don’t want un-corrupt government I want less of it altogether, so that when it is corrupt it’s less harmful.

  2. So? Won’t stop the surrender monkeys from trying to live of the rest of us.The French are corrupt. It’s in their genes. They just don’t have the guts to try full communism. And they are proud and happy that they can suck the ROC in.Most leeches are.

  3. It isn’t simply that the Quebec provincial government is corrupt; the whole infrastructure of governance is corrupt.
The normal way of ‘doing business’ in Quebec is via backroom deals, via the black market, via freeloading off the federal government (which is viewed as a Foreign Nation To Be Milked), via special deals. If you are from outside Quebec, you are fair game to be cheated, to be sold goods three times their value..and so on.
The unions are a massive force in Quebec preventing small businesses from developing because they insist that all such should be part of their union. Free enterprise is strangled in Quebec. The construction industry is hand in glove with government and both corrupt each other.
Then, there’s the massive bloated civil service, made up both of federal and provincial jobs-for-life employees, with outrageous benefits and pensions, most of which are paid not from their salaries but as extra input from the taxpayer.
Add the federally funded universities, and despite Quebec’s low population, it has the most universities per capita in Canada. Seventeen, with seven in Montreal alone. Ontario, with double the Quebec population, has 23 universities. Hmm. Someone is living well off the federal taxpayer.
The result is a degrading economy, moving itself more and more into dependency on the federal public works and funding, and a population alienated from a small business economic mindset and itself, moving more to a dependence on government.

  4. Lazy and greedy leftists will always vote for corruption regardless of how much they’re being paid off at the moment.
Massive corruption gives them Hope that their personal fortunes will Change into being able to spend more of someone else’s money, or better yet, get power over other people and force them to live as subjects of an arbitrary regulatory regime – that’s the most fun a leftist can have.

  5. And here in Ontario, everyone knows that McDinky and Co. are corrupt – and they’ve known it since the beginning……..but they voted the rats in anyway.
Which says an awful lot about the values of far too many Ontarians….

  6. Quebec govt is the most visibly corrupt provincial government going back decades to Expo 67. And with private sector rivals like the indian bands and the bike gangs the corruption is everywhere.
But i think in the fullness of time Newfoundalnd will come to be seen as the most corrupt provincial gov’t – a reaching or rather coming from the premiers office on down: Joey Smallwood, Frank Moore, and probably the king of them all, Danny Williams – Google Dannyland and muskrat falls/alderon to get an inkling of what he has done and is trying to do. The numbers could run north of ten billion…
Back to Quebec… The LP of Quebec has so much money that for several years now it has had a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio.

  7. I think you’ll find similar results if you polled other jurisdictions in western democracies. Government has become incresingly corrupt and intrusive all over the western nations.

  8. The people of Quebec extort billions of dollars from the ROC each year. If they don’t get the money they threaten to separate. They are holding Canada hostage. The people of Quebec have used this sleazy strategy for decades. Their corrupt government is a mirror image of the corrupt values of the people of Quebec.

  9. Besides the usual separatist thing going on (which gives ROC something to whine/worry about), the real political crud and organized crime is alive and well in la belle province. Think of it as Chicago politics with a funny accent.

  10. Not just the government that is corrupt in Quebec. The whole province is corrupt….government, unions, everything.

  11. Quebec – corrupt? Are you all trying to trick us, Kate?
The headline is stating the obvious, everyone knows that the Kebec gument legions are the most corrupt, in Canada. However, the ROC has been paying for the Kebec corruption (see above comments). The latter will now stop because Kebec lost it’s leverage in the last election. heh.

  12. Anyone following the latest Alberta Health Services news? The former CFO was padding his expense account and it was being approved by a board member. I expect this is occuring at all levels. Just think what all these docs are writing off agains their professional corporation at our expense.

  13. Still hawking the old game is why this garbage continues.
Quebecers will shrug and say, “better a corrupt govenment, than a separatist one” while the rest use it as an example of how Canada is not working.
Until the taps are shut off, this game will continue until the federal govenment is broke.
Hopefully, someone will finally find the onions to say no more.

  15. Quebec thinks their government is corrupt because everything is not absolutely free!
QNS – “Bill Gates gets his own private yacht, where is Pierre’s yacht, no? Damned you, you f*cking government now we flame the streets, yes.”

  16. Well they can join Alberta in that Revelation. Redford’s cronies with company are well padded with tax dollars. They even buy Telephones for their Mercedes while enjoying 200 dollar lunches. People wonder where the billions go? You can bet there are thousands like the dude who got caught. Its endemic from a Government too long in power with no conscience of right or wrong..

  17. Trudopia… “the culture of corruption”… or as Trudope would call it… “the just society”. No doubt Quebec is corrupt, maybe corrupt beyond repair, so is BC, Ontario, Manitoba and depressingly, Alberta. Out here in BC we have Kristy the Klown Klark (KKK) spending 400.000 bucks from the Premiers office in less then a year, when she’s not embarrassing us on the national scene, and she wasn’t even elected! Next up for BC, a french language activist and parasitic commie, Comrade Adrian Dix… Mulcairs buddy. The corruption runs deep in this country.

  18. I have no doubt that Quebec politics is corrupt. Ottawa politics is corrupt. It is all about a class of people, no matter what language they speak, who graviatate to the public tit to get what they can.
    – I always admired Mao for forcing school teachers back out to the farm every 2 or 3 years to get ‘regrounded’.
    – Read ‘Booze in Western Canada’. Political corruption from the municipal, provincial and federal levels profitted from booze. Are drugs any different today? NWMP and the RCMP were in it up to their necks.
    – Talked to a retired Revenue Canada auditor who told me that his cases against tax evaders were taken from his authority and transferred to Ottawa where they were trashed.
My faith in what is right and just in this country took a hit a long time ago and I have never seen a reason to change that opinion.
