  1. Peter Robinson interviews George W. Bush for Uncommon Knowledge.
I didn’t agree much with Bush, but I do think he’s a fundamentally decent person; he shows it in his interview.

  2. Great column by Deroy Murdock at National Review: Chick-fil-A and the Totalitarian Temptation.
    Excerpt:

“I have been to this point unwilling to sign on to same-sex marriage primarily because of my understandings of the traditional definitions of marriage.”
If you dislike that comment, you will hate this one: “I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian . . . it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.”
Such divisive, bigoted words surely were spat like venom by Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy, right?
    Wrong.
President Barack Obama uttered the first statement on October 27, 2010. Candidate Obama made the second remark to Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., on August 17, 2008.

    Read the whole thing.

An interesting column about a college graduate and his thinking on who is to pay for his stuff.

This is a young person that grew up in a country that free enterprise made the richest country in the entire history of the world.
Also talked with a young woman at a campground that is ready to actually fight for freedom.

  4. Remember, EBD, Obama lives, totally and completely, in a ‘virtual world’. That’s one that is made up only of words.
Obama’s words have no connection to reality. They are connected only to his desire to manipulate you. He wants you to accept and be beholden to Him. So, he’ll tell you what you want to hear. It’s all about control. Over you. By Him.
SDH – thanks for the link. That’s a really offensive leftist attack on the Tea Party, suggesting that it is a far-right, racist, fundamentalist internal terrorist group that the US military must be ready to confront. The comments of many show their outrage at this attack on the Tea Party.

  5. Quebecois:
He was given a dishonorable discharge. The army can’t do much more than that with its undesirables. Amazing how the MSM doesn’t hesitate to state this guys (known) history, if he was islamic and had said “allua akbar” it’s all he needed to avoid being looked at as a menace.

  6. Quebec’s fiscal union may not be the only thing called into question by international investors !!
[So what’s the overextended, under-revenued state of California planning to do? That’s right: open its carbon-credit market for business in 2013. Oh, and Quebec is joining in California’s suicidal plunge. Eight US Western states that were originally signed up for the Western Climate Initiative (the state-chartered operator of the carbon-credit exchange) have dropped out, but Quebec – on the other side of the continent – is hanging tough.]

  7. Should be no problem for Quebec. Mulcairs whole vision of the future is built on pixie dust and the province is already a basket case. Charest is a expert at caving in and the Feds will just write a bigger welfare cheque. The other provinces will continue to marvel at the cost of keeping their good for nothing ungrateful offspring in the family and life will go on as it does now. No news here. Just what one would expect from a distinct society.

The French have a history of getting others to fight their wars.
Then they kick the veterans in the teeth by making them third class citizens while embracing the diposed enemies.
Example: A US soldier is considered a disposable asset for the UN when overthrowing a country like Lybia to support French & Italian foreign intrests. When he returns he’s simply American scum, a potential domestic terrorist. The 2nd Amendmant is poison to the socialist euro crazies, returning veterans the poisoners of their totalitarian utopia

  9. Remember, EBD, Obama lives, totally and completely, in a ‘virtual world’. That’s one that is made up only of words.
That can be said of anyone who has never had dirt under their fingernails from real work. Nature’s elements are the real reality inducer, and words don’t mean a thing to nature…it sure ain’t a democracy.

  10. James Hansen has new proof of global warming.
“The science in Hansen’s study is excellent “and reframes the question,” said Andrew Weaver, a climate scientist at the University of Victoria in British Columbia who was a member of the Nobel Prize-winning international panel of climate scientists that issued a series of reports on global warming.
“Rather than say, ‘Is this because of climate change?’ That’s the wrong question. What you can say is, ‘How likely is this to have occurred with the absence of global warming?’ It’s so extraordinarily unlikely that it has to be due to global warming,” Weaver said.”
Well, I guess that’s it then, eh?

  11. signaller, the problem isn’t the issue of global warming but the CAUSE of global warming.
After all, as this blog has pointed out many times, with extensive data-filled charts, the earth has warmed and cooled many times over its millions of years. This is normal.
The issue now is a rejection of this data-based analysis and an insertion of a sin-based ideology that Man as Sinner has caused this global warming. In particular, it’s the Industrial West that has caused it and it must pay Sin Money to the pet nations of the UN.

True and the future looks rather dismal, but as long as they are trying to sell you something it must be taken with a grain of salt.
“What The Experts Say: The team has released their investigation to the public and for a limited time you can view a private airing of it online. Learn the steps you can take to prepare your wealth, investments and way of life for this looming catastrophe. Click here to learn how some of the foremost experts in the world recommend you position yourself for the uncertain time ahead.” Strong clue there.
Panic and fright and will always sell. Having said that, I have no doubt that western civilization is circling the drain but money spent on inside tips will not replace common sense in preparation for the inevitable. In Canada we will have at least a 6 month window to watch the entertainment before we get swallowed up by world events. Stock up on dry food and ammo. If possible get out of the city when they start protesting in the streets over government cutbacks. That’s the clue we have reached the edge of the cliff. We have the second largest country on the planet with one of the smallest populations. Perhaps the best investment would be in re-learning the skills of our great grandparents and hope we will never need them. If the sh*t hits the fan it will just be another reset as has happened many times in history. Until then it’s just entertainment as far as Canada is concerned.

“Great Leap Backward: China’s Leadership in Crisis”
“As April passed into May this year, one electrifying story replaced another in the consciousness of the Chinese public. The first involved a ruthless official struggling for control of the ruling Communist Party and the second a solitary activist who, without this being his stated intention, challenged the one-party state from below. Soon, the two narratives began to merge, posing a threat of the first order to China’s increasingly fragile political system.”
“Is any of this true? The country’s journalists, bloggers, and writers are both uncovering facts and making them up at a fast clip. So facts and rumors, one right after another, are heard, circulated, and indiscriminately believed and denied.
To grab control of the runaway national conversation about breathtaking corruption and heinous crimes, Communist Party propagandists are circulating their own version of the truth.”

  15. On the Blaze today there’s a story about Wayne Allen Root who went to Columbia when Obama was there. He says he never met Obama, doesn’t remember etc etc etc. It’s interesting I guess but what he said today on Hanity was even more interesting…. He claims someone from Breitbart phoned him and said he is in Indonesia investigating Obama’s childhood and has hard evidence Obama is a citizen of Indonesia. If this is true it explains the Pah-ki-stahn trip.
