In tonight’s amusement en route to the Tips, from the 1945 short film called “Randle and All That”, the fictitious, couldn’t-possibly-try-harder acrobatic duo of Donovan & Byl perform one of the flat-out funniest pieces of physical comedy you’ll ever see. I have no idea who the smaller fellow on the left is, but the performer on the right (at the start) is almost certainly Frank Randle, the Lancashire-born music hall comedian of the film’s title, who first performed on stage 29 years earlier as an acrobat.
Swallow whatever you’re drinking so you don’t spray your screen, and watch Donovan & Byl’s Tumbling Tomfoolery.
The comments are open, as always, for your Reader Tips.
The Romney campaign “has now leaped to a double-digit lead in Florida (54-40%) according to Foster-McCollum-White, a Michigan-based pollster – the margin for error is 2.53%.”

Cenk Uygur and Jonah Goldberg discuss Liberal Fascism.
Jonah drops the ball when Cenk asks if Jonah would read a book called “Conservative Nazis”.
Jonah should have said “If I was interviewing the authour, you bet I would, how else could I intelligently discuss the book?”
Still, Cenk is an idiot.
Now they’ll be able to give America the finger from their cars:
Jim Karger writes why the west is done.
I can’t really disagree.
Thanks for the funny video EBD.
EBD @ 10:10, hopefully that poll is right and is indicate of similar moves elsewhere.
Once again, no reader comment, just an appreciative note about the video. I have never heard of this team before. And I have not been much of a fan for slapstick such as the stooges or Abbot & Costello.
But these two demonstrated comedic genius. Maybe because I had a brutal day, tough day in business and additional bad news about my wife’s health status, whatever.
But I definitely needed the two or three belly laughs that had watching the piece…
Thanks for that EBD.

Will Obama Keep Power ‘by Any Means Necessary’?
Let’s go there: if Obama thinks he’s losing, will he allow safe and fair elections on November 6? And if he does lose, will he peacefully turn over power to Mitt Romney on January 20, 2013? Or will he cling to power “by any means necessary,” as a highly placed insider alleges?

They were falling all over themselves last week proclaiming how progressive they are, this week…not so much.
There is no bigger coward than a progressive.
Hey EBD, I jumped on a link about Obama and the youth vote from your tip. Here’s a new acronym for this election cycle in the US…
CENGA
Zogby has been especially interested in the youth vote this election. In 2008, 66 percent chose Obama over Sen. John McCain, the highest percentage for a Democrat in three decades. But their desire for hope and change has turned to disillusionment and unemployment. Zogby calls them “CENGAs” for “college-educated, not going anywhere.”
Say it loud and proud lol
Oh, lovely.
The moderator of the lone October vice presidential debate was previously married to a top Obama official, an association both ABC News and the left-leaning Commission on Presidential Debates do not view as a conflict of interest.

It’s a battle for minds, not bodies. And they are winning.
Which is all as per plan. It’s a ‘the bigger they are, the harder they fall’ thing.
EBD, 10:10p.m. —
My guess is that the poll is directionally correct, but the margin is probably a bit wide. Nevertheless, I’ve become increasingly optimistic about Mitt’s chances since about the time of that ad he put out with Obama juxtaposed against the Bain Capital talking points (we discussed it at the time). Looking around the internet, the commentary is becoming more confident, while at the same time more outright dismissive of Obama’s nonsense (I’m finding that people are spending less time providing reasons why Obama’s wrong; of course, he’s done a lot of damage to himself).
The CEO factor, IMO, is really starting to show with Mitt. The campaign, including that ad, seems to have the sort of prepared professional roll-out one would expect from a successful and experienced businessperson. My impression is that CEOs of Mitt’s calibre tend to be less ideological and more practical, are accustomed to reaching for consensus prior to acting and are less prone to angry posturing tactics than the lawyers in the crowd (Obama, Rae, Mulcair, etc.). On the other hand, they are pretty big on growth, income statements and balance sheets — which is the focus that the United States certainly needs at the moment.
I watched the speech Mitt gave when he hooked up the other day with Paul Ryan after they spent the week campaigning separately. He seems comfortable now in his own skin, in the role he’s playing and in what he’s selling — he actually reminded me a lot of Ronald Reagan.
“German solar company Sovello to sack all employees”
“Another German solar module maker, Sovello, has fallen victim to fierce global competition. Insolvency adminstrators say the firm based in eastern Germany’s “solar valley” will stop production within the next two weeks.
The German solar-cell company Sovello announced on Tuesday it would have to end production at the end of August. The company which filed for insolvency in May said it would be forced to lay off its 1,000 employees.”

The trend is, slowly, moving in favour of the GOP. They must keep on track dealing with the issues and only the issues. The economy, jobs, the debt, entitlement, tax reform, medicare.
The Obama and Democrat team are constantly trying to derail the focus from these issues to the personal. These attempts are slick and easy to do and the media swing into focusing on them as it brings in the audience. Most of the media are leftist anyway.
But never underestimate Obama and the Gang: Jarrett, Michelle, Pelosi, Reid and others. Obama pushed through his key bills without the Congress reading and debating them. Congress can refuse bills and Obama will enforce their actions via Executive Order. That is, democracy and its institutions and requirements doesn’t have much meaning for Obama. Then or now.
Another question to consider is, will the black vote remain with Obama? Purely as a racist issue? Obama has done nothing for the morass that the black communities in the big cities have fallen into.
The unions, taxes and regulations have destroyed the manufacturing base, particularly for entry level jobs and this has left the black community unemployed. They have moved to the illegal economy of drugs and to welfare and state dependency.
This has also contributed to the destruction of the black family unit, and led to a generation and more of single parent families dependent on the state, with the children moving into the illegal market.
Then, the movement of the influx of Asian and other populations into small businesses of small stores, corner stores, etc, has further isolated the black community from a legitimate economy.
Obama has shown no interest in this area. Can the GOP make a move in this direction, to draw them into the GOP side and remove the false image of the GOP as a ‘rich man’s club’?

“The vicious hatred of the left for its conservative opponents, belied by the liberals’ constant protestations of their high-mindedness and tolerance, is also easily explainable in tribal terms. It is the hatred of the righteous for the sinner, of the acolyte of the one true faith for the heretic. Distilled to its essence, it is the hatred for “the other,” of “us” for “them.” It is also the reason why liberals so liberally lie and cheat in their dealings with the conservative “enemy.” Everything is fair in love and war, and politics is war by other means.”

A Republican election can be predicted if they just repeat these two facts in every speach..
1. Obama & Pelosi funded Obama-Care by stealing
>700 Billion, & Counting, from Medicare…
The Democrats have no answer that doesn’t include an outright lie… They are type cast as dishonest.
2. You didn’t build your Business!
Communist VS. Capalist, nothing more needs to be said!

“Economic rot spreads from Beijing to Berlin”
“The eurozone is on track for its second recession in three years, China’s once booming manufacturing sector is contracting at a faster pace than previously reported, and the United States is widely seen as struggling to keep up its pace of growth.
Business surveys released on Thursday painted a global picture of economic malaise from Beijing to Berlin.”

“Federal government grants licence for new nuclear reactors for first time in three decades”
“The last time a similar federal licence was issued was 1981 for construction of Darlington’s four existing Candu reactors.
OTTAWA — For the first time in 30 years, a preparatory federal licence has been issued for new nuclear reactors.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has formally issued a site-preparation licence allowing pre-construction activities for up to four proposed nuclear reactors on land adjacent to Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) existing four-reactor Darlington nuclear generation station, near Bowmanville, east of Toronto.
The move comes as Ontario’s reliance on nuclear power last year hit a record level, supplying 56.9 per cent of the province’s energy needs, according to the Independent Electricity System Operator.”

I haven’t had a chance to read the article yet but wired magazine has put a very telling story on their front cover this month. I would say we’re wining on this one. If popular science starts putting articles like this out too then I’d say the war is over.

Another typical example of CBC bias. Harper announced a new National Park in the north.

“Leaves room for mining”. What would the alternative be, to make the entire North a National Park?
According to candidate Akin, the GOP have nothing to worry about regarding the hurricane about to hit Florida. Apparently, Tampa has a way of just shutting it down.
James, the actions and thoughts of Akin are not those of the GOP.
I refuse to accept that there is no way for the GOP to oust Akin.
I agree with james. He has to go.

“How hip-hop fell out of love with Obama”
“Barack Obama was once hailed as America’s first hip-hop president. Why have so many rappers now given up on ‘B-rock’?”
“Supporting Obama at a rally in 2008 (from left): Kevin Liles, Mary J Blige, Russell Simmons, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z.”
“Killer Mike is just one voice in a growing chorus of dissent from within the rap world by artists who believe Obama has failed to take up the pressing issues facing black people in the US.
“Quite obviously, black America is in terrible crisis,” says Tricia Rose, professor of Africana studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. “The racial and class dimensions of this crisis have simply been largely sidestepped by the Obama presidency and muted by black leadership, which seems largely frozen by the effect of not wanting to undermine the first black president.””
