U.S. slips out of top 10 most prosperous countries, while Canada keeps No. 6 ranking

The U.S. fell to 12th position from 10th in the Legatum Institute’s annual prosperity index amid increased doubts about the health of its economy and ability of politicians. Norway, Denmark and Sweden were declared the most prosperous in the index, published in London Monday.

  1. I would be curious about their methodology. According to the chart, Canada is #1 in personal freedom, which doesn’t seem accurate to me.

  2. To us , it is obvious the US falling back in the prosperity index is a bad thing
but to the average leftist this prosperity is seen as some injustice ( they believe the only reason the west has been so successful is because of slavery and other such silly unimportant factors ), so the less prosper the US is the less evil it is in the dysfunctional eyes mind of the average leftist.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking leftists are like us; The average leftist is happy with a weaker US.

  3. Here’s my prediction, for what it’s worth – this is a tight race ( it shouldn’t be because Obama is anti-American and racist and has made the US a debt slave – shows how many Americans have been lobotomized by their media and petty handouts) – as all tight electoral races of the past 3 decades in the corrupted political system of the new American corporatist syndicate, this election will be stolen by ballot rigging – I predict the incumbent wins with a narrow but clear margin gained by rigging Diebold devices and other easily corrupted balloting systems because this current regime is the most corrupt/malfeasant in US history.

  4. I suspect the American Electorate isn’t about to hand the keys to the guys who drove the country off a cliff. The Mitt is about the hit the fan, probably a lot harder than people were expecting too.

  5. These “rankings” are worse than useless. They *always* reflect the views of people with an agenda, and 95% of the time that agenda is “progressive”.
America has it’s share of problems, but the idea that Sweden is more “prosperous” is absurd — if for no other reason than its per capita GDP is substantially lower. Norway — with a tiny population and huge oil reserves — is an anomaly.
As for Canada being #1 in personal freedom, uh, let me consider that while I’m cleaning the .22 varmint pistol THAT I’M NOT ALLOWED TO OWN.

  6. Steve Canada is and always has been, very good at creating the illusion of freedom.
Yes, you DO have more freedom than in the old Soviet Block,China,Cuba,North Korea, but under the facade are a well-orchestrated group of government agencies, backed by regulations, laws, and a Human Right Tribunal, to subvert those imagined freedoms.
The government still controls the production of food, our choice in medical treatment, the guns we can own, auto insurance, and our every word that is spoken, printed,or E-mailed.
    Yes, we’re FREE,with limitations.

  7. It doesn’t take a lot of personal freedom for Canada to be ranked No.1, it just takes a tiny bit more than the next ranked country. Look at the list and think how much it makes you feel like moving because of the personal freedom allowed elsewhere. Not at all? I bet it isn’t just comparison with what you have here, it’s that there just isn’t that much anywhere.

We need the old america . Not the new communism plus Islam is the best one.

  10. Just heard on one of the networks that auto workers of GM Chrysler and Ford in Ohio were given the day off so they could go and vote. You can be sure that nearly every one of them are voting for Obama as a way of thanking him for “saving their jobs”.This is nothing more than political manipulation, those votes were bought and paid for with taxpayers money. My next vehicle purchase will not be built by any one of the big three domestic auto makers.
