NRA Repeats Call For More ‘Good Guys With Guns’ Following Navy Yard Shooting

The head of the National Rifle Association said on Sunday “there weren’t enough good guys with guns” to confront the gunman who killed 12 people at the Washington navy yard on Monday.
LaPierre’s comments, echoed his response nine months ago to the Newtown school shooting, in which Adam Lanza killed 20 young children and six adults. Following Newtown, LaPierre’s response was to call for an armed guard in every school, saying:”The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”
A Gallup poll showed a drop in public support for gun control laws following the navy yard shooting. It also found that fewer people now blame easy access to guns for mass shootings than two years ago.

  1. Depends on how you define good guy.. If he doesn’t vote the same way as you.. If he didn’t attend the same type of schools as you.. If he doesn’t walk and talk like you.. Then he is just another bad guy without a gun in his hand.. Just the way they like it..

  2. We should all be asking why the “good guys with guns” are always told to stand down. The navy yard incident was a Benghazi deja vu.

And again, the silent partners in this shooting were – SRRI Psyche drugs, the Fed Psyche industry
The Physicians’ Desk Reference lists the following common adverse reactions (side effects) to SSRI antidepressants (among a host of other physical and neuropsychiatric effects). None of these adverse reactions is listed as Rare.
◾Manic Reaction (Mania, e.g., Kleptomania, Pyromania, Dipsomania, Nymphomania)
◾Hypomania (e.g., poor judgment, over spending, impulsivity, etc.)
    ◾Abnormal Thinking
    ◾Hallucinations
    ◾Personality Disorder
    ◾Amnesia
    ◾Agitation
    ◾Psychosis
    ◾Abnormal Dreams
    ◾Emotional Lability
    ◾Alcohol Abuse and/or Craving
    ◾Hostility
    ◾Paranoid Reactions
    ◾Confusion
    ◾Delusions
    ◾Sleep Disorders
◾Akathisia (severe internal restlessness that can cause suicidality)
    ◾Impulsivity
It doesn’t take a genius to recognize that any of the above drug-induced mental aberrations could pass as the mental illness most of these mass shooters are said to have.
On their site “SSRI Stories” lists hundreds of mass shootings in the US and Europe that were the result of SSRI drug psychosis – Aurora, Sandy Hook and the Navy Yard shooters have this in common – but the MSM narrative is silent on this – perhaps big pharma has more pull than the NRA in both the Whitehouse and the MSM?

  3. It is worth noting that the Navy Yard was gun-control paradise. Background checks, weapons away, lots of rules! Rules! Rules! To save us.
If SSRI’s were a ‘partner’ in this then there should be a correlation between the prescription rate and shootings. This is another version of ‘video games corruptin’ our childrun’.

  4. My brother used to work there. Mom was in a bit of a panic the other day when this all went down, forgetting he had moved on. Considering what he does for a living, I’m amazed a nut like this probably had a security clearance similar to my brother’s. It’s like what steyn was saying on Friday – that when 4 million people have top secret clearance, then everyone has top secret clearance.

  5. If your prescribing antidepressants to depressed mentally ill people.. You could be turning a introvert (hurt themselves) into an extrovert (hurt others).. With the only thing changing is they feel good because they are high on artificial serotonin..
Turning depressed psychopaths into happy psychopaths just makes them functional psychopaths.. Makes them act like normal people.. Makes them feel good about their extremely poor decisions.. Masks what has always been a red flag in any social structure..
I dont know, we cant know if there is any real connection between trying to help and making matters worse.. Who is sad for no reason and who is sad because they cant kill everybody in the room..
Lets make them all happy and watch how functional they all become..

Mutually exclusive issues LAS. Video game/movie violence only effects those unstable/suggestible enough to be prone to mimic it. There is ample research and litigation to suggest that SSRI CAUSES drug induced violent psychotic episodes in most of its users who may not have previously been prone to violence. Big pharma has been dodging that bullet for decades by settling out of court with large Nolo contendere payments to civil litigants who stuck with their law suits.

  7. People forget that what kept us from a nuclear bomb holocaust for 60 years, was a system called MAD. Mutual Assured Destruction.
Both sides had enough bombs to destroy the other. When you take guns from the noraml people & only leave the crooks, or political powers with them. You have lost your mechanism that holds off the horror of misuse.
Giving the bad sheep the trigger is absolutely crazy.
Who here thinks if America would have gotten rid of their Nukes unilaterally. They would still be around before the Soviet Union mass terror ended?
That’s exactly what the Government now thinks is a rational approach to gun control. Disarm the public.

  8. Yeah well, I know you are in denial but there is empirical evidence that you are wrong.
Back in 1917, when US troops first encountered German troops….98% refused to shoot and kill.
By 1941, the refusal rate had dropped to 35-40%. Sometime in the ’30’s the US Army had abandoned bulls-eyes and had adopted human siluette targets.
The video games development was financed by the military. Refusal rate in recent unpleasantness has dropped to NIL.

  9. Remember the good old days when comics where considered a corrupting force for violence. Seems petty now.
In my opinion the lack of control in violence is the rejection of God with the adoption of nihilism. The idea where all just matter, with no souls, or accountability to other human beings. Relativism welded to a lack of human respect or awareness. Personnel Narcissism learned by from education , plus no golden rule.
The murder of children, babies. The adoption of eugenics as disposable people like the handicapped became the fashion.
Mass murder from Turkey’s Armenian population, to now the norm.
For most of human history till the 1930’s. It was normal for individuals to carry personnel weapons for protection. Mandatory in certain western cultures in fact. With the onset of the 20th century its was socialism with its twin fascism, that bought into the idea of only the State protecting people, while disarming them. No coincidence I’m sure.
We have abandoned reason for brutality as society reaps its reward for Materialism as a goal, not kindness.
Just a personnel observation. Violent video games are a symptom of this regression.
Banning guns for boys has done nothing.

  10. This pretty much says it all!!
    Interesting…
In 1863 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States.
In 1881 a left wing radical Democrat shot James Garfield, President of the United States who later died from the wound.
In 1963 a radical left wing socialist shot and killed John F. Kennedy, President of the United States.
In 1975 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at Gerald Ford, President of the United States.
In 1983 a registered Democrat shot and wounded Ronald Reagan.
In 1984 James Huberty a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 22 people in a McDonalds restaurant.
In 1986 Patrick Sherril a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 15 people in an Oklahoma post office.
In 1990 James Pough a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 10 people at a GMAC office.
In 1991 George Hennard a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 23 people in a Luby’s cafeteria.
In 1995 James Daniel Simpson a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 5 coworkers in a Texas laboratory.
In 1999 Larry Asbrook a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 8 people at a church service.
In 2001 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at the White House in a failed attempt to kill George W. Bush, President of the US.
In 2003 Douglas Williams a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 7 people at a Lockheed Martin plant.
In 2007 a registered Democrat named Seung – Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people in Virginia Tech.
In 2010 a mentally ill registered Democrat named Jared Lee Loughner shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed 6 others.
In 2011 a registered Democrat named James Holmes went into a movie theater and shot and killed 12 people.
In 2012 Andrew Engeldinger a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 7 people in Minneapolis.
In 2013 a registered Democrat named Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people in a school.
In September of 2013 a registered Democrat and Obama supporter shot and killed 6 people at a Washington, DC shipyard.
Clearly, there is a serious problem with Democrats and guns. No wonder they want to get rid of guns
No NRA member, Tea Party member, or Republican conservatives are involved.
SOLUTION: It should be illegal for Democrats to own guns.

  11. “If SSRI’s were a ‘partner’ in this then there should be a correlation between the prescription rate and shootings”
Lassie, U’v already bin taken to task on some of yer ignorance, so I’ll finish the job. Correlation would only occur IF there common conditions that are “steady state”, as it is there are NO two situations that are identical, that’s why there are so many different drugs that do the same thing. Some of these drugs are good for one person, but not another. And then there is the fact that even within the same person there are varying conditions the effect the use of the drug. Sooooo, a person may go along for a spell and have no ill effects, and then suddenly go off the rails. U see the chemistry in our body changes for varying reasons, and as it does the medication will have varying effects. But what you seem unaware of is that most of these break downs came on withdrawal. Also there is the fact that different ppl react differently to different stimuli, such as some ppl are pleasant drunks mostly while others are obnoxious all the time, they react differently to booz. U see Lassie, I’m a study case on the “different reaction” to> Having ADD I used to become aggressive when I smoked dope, t’is the main reason I quit the sh!t!!

  12. I read your posts Revnant Dream, and I think I’m developing a “tic”. Please look up these two different words: personnel, personal. Thanks.

  13. RE: Antidepressant drugs.
True–and that`s assuming that they haven’t been mixed with booze or other intoxicants and chemicals!

  14. Exactly on the statistics and discussed and evidenced in “Time To Kill”, John Keegan et al, edited by Paul Addison and Angus Calder, Centre for Second World War Studies, University of Edinburgh
One of the first tenants is demonizing the other guy makes it easy to kill him or her and their children. Ask the left, they are masters at this.
Patsplace, great list. Not surprising at all.

  15. Of course good guys were not allowed bear arms in the Navy Yard. Like Hillary Rodham before him, Barack Hussein Obama cannot count on the loyalty of his enlisted men, and hence will not permit them to bear arms on US soil for fear of a Chilean September 11 or a Bucharest Christmas.

  16. They certainly could have used a few more good guys with guns at Westgate Mall in Nairobi the other day.
As long as there are organized groups who want to destroy civilization, like Islamists and communists, only fools advocate gun control.

  17. You’re going to have to provide a reliable source for that 98%, scooter. In the meantime, I’ll call your attention to The Emma Gees, an autobiography of a Canadian machine gunner of that era, who considered killing Germans a fine sport. The ninety-eight percent who refused to shoot – those would be the sons of the Rough Riders? The grandsons of the Americans who fought the Civil War and all but exterminated the Native Americans? Those pacifists.
    I’ll have what you’re drinking.

  18. Indeed dehumanizing the enemy is probably as old as time.
During WW1 and WW2, “The Enemy Is Human” was banned. Similarly Imperial made possession of a copy of “All Quiet on the Western Front” a capital offence.
Generally, in the European theatre, the Allied armies frowned on shooting prisoners…..motivated more for raw intelligence than human compassion.

  19. The 98% is initial contact with the enemy.
I am a witness to how swiftly the brutality of combat produces some damaged mentalities. Indeed I found that treating combat as a sport made my people more effective and increased the survival rate…..ya do what ya gotta do…..we were not delivering bread.
The famous 1914, “Christmas cease-fire and fraternization” only occurred once…..it had both Allied and German commands freaking out.
The one significant matter established during the 20th century was that soldiers allegiance was more to their unit than their country. Indeed the Russians swiftly labled the war as the “Great Patriotic War”…because they realized patriotism was a more powerful motivator than political ideology.
Especially for the Nazi’s and the Reds…publicizing “hero’s” was of major importance….their hero’s.
