Reader Tips

In tonight’s entertainment en route to the tips the late Red Sovine, who was most famous for his often maudlin spoken-word country songs like “Teddy Bear” and “Phantom 309”, covers Eric Clapton’s 1978 crossover hit Lay Down Sally.

“On the Obamacare health insurance exchanges, being married can cost you a lot. Get divorced (or avoid getting married, if you live together), and you save $7,230 per year if you are a fairly typical 40-year-old couple with kids (example: the husband working full-time, and the wife working part time, with the husband making $70,000, and the wife making $23,000). If you are a 60-year-old couple with equal incomes and no kids, and you make $62,041 a year, you save $11,028 a year by getting divorced…”

  2. No surprise that Obamacare collaterally attacks the institution of marriage, and in a much more serious way that letting gays marry could ever do.

  3. BTW, this one really p*sses me off and I’d post on it myself if I could find a way to embed this image: http://www.covteachalliance.org/CTAKudos/KnottyOakMS/PDFs/2012-2013/ASFMSAdminsMakeGoodonPromisetoStudents2012.pdf
The fat, allegedly mute greasy-looking slob is Behavior Specialist Kim Sturdahl, and Glinda the Good Witch is the principal, Arthur Lisi (he’s been promoted). These two seem to be primarily responsible for persecuting this kid. (He’s been suspended and they’re trying to get him kicked off a field trip too.)

Just really interesting. (It’s Takimag so they start raving about The Jews by comment #3.)

  5. As of last night the gang of traitors in charge of foreclosing on Europe’s first Christian nation on behalf of Deutsche Bank and SocGen have given up even the pretense of democracy. The leadership of the patriotic Golden Dawn party have been interned without bail by Greek police, and the party declared a terrorist organization.

The collaborationist government used as a pretext the killing of an “anti-fascist” thug and self-styled “rapper” in a streetfight by a man who claimed to be a Golden Dawn member (nobody in the party seems to have ever heard of the killer), which was used all over the collaborationist media as a cudgel to beat Golden Dawn.
Of course, Golden Dawn’s only real crime was taking the side of the Greek people in the streets of Athens and the Greek parliament, where they were the only significant opponents of Romanianization and regularly named and shamed Greece’s enemies, foreign and domestic.
The Golden Dawn, if the elites get away with this, will not be the last patriotic party in Europe to be purged. Rest assured UKIP is next in line.

  6. Not only are they really not nice to animals, they seemingly enjoy snuffing human opponents as well:
“The RSPCA is being scrutinised by the Charity Commission over claims that it uses intimidatory and bullying tactics, particularly when bringing prosecutions for animal cruelty.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that the watchdog has written to various organisations and voluntary groups asking for specific examples of such behaviour by the RSPCA.
The concerns are expected to be raised by the Commission at a meeting with RSPCA trustees.
The incidents that have triggered the review include the suicide in May of Dawn Aubrey-Ward, 43, a former RSPCA inspector whose character and integrity the charity had publicly attacked.
After she accused the RSPCA of unnecessarily killing healthy animals, the charity posted a critical statement about her on its website and she was besieged by hate mail, death threats and abusive telephone calls.

  8. In Canada, the marriage penalty extends further than CPP. It is the child tax credit based on family income, it is the student loans and bursaries program, it is a myriad of means tested programs. But the worst marriage penalty is the inability to income split between spouses.

  10. And now all the kids who hate school are firing key chain guns and getting out of school. That would certainly be a big temptation for most kids!
