It’s not surprising, Wes. For Iran it’s very simple; they want to preserve as much of their infrastructure as possible while getting sanctions lifted. There’s no secondary agenda here. Whereas with the US, it’s all about the secondary agenda of distracting from the President’s collapsing public support. The WH needs anything that can be dressed up as a win, and Obama will lie through his teeth to portray it that way.
