Blog Notes

My apologies for the slow blogging this weekend. I was busy helping an old friend finish a project.

A few quick photos taken with my camera yesterday as the job took shape.

The finished car, as it rolled out of the booth this morning, 23 years after I painted the first one. The pieces of the old Scat Rat can be seen in the background.

  1. Hats off to Kate! Brought back memories of the days when the North American auto industry ruled our streets and roads.
One of the saddest days of my life is when I read a story about GM’s Oldsmobile division being shut down. It was always the experimental branch of the company. I can still hear the rumble of a 425 or a 455 ”Delta 88” getting it’s final touch on the Dwell meter or the timing light then going with the mechanic for a test run. Few cars could outperform an Oldsmobile within it’s class.
There are a few traditional models that still set you back in your seat. Enjoy!!

  2. Can’t make out the driver. Is that you Kate?… Love the sound.. Sounds “Grumpy”!

  3. Much as I loved you before, I’m an even bigger fan now, Kate. That thing sounds evil, what’s it run? Elevens? Tens?

  4. Brilliant marketing slogan: “It is not your dad’s Oldsmobile” was the final nail in the coffin of that brand.

  5. Remember when the Trans-Am came out with the big fire breathing bird on the hood?

  6. Oh Man that thing sounds and looks incredible.
    Just beautiful!
I miss my 72 Cutlass Convertible, I’d have never sold it if it sounded anything like that freak.
    Great job Kate!

  7. Libertarianism at work. Once these chop shoppers have done their 6 months in the Provincial all inclusive they should have crosses tattooed on their foreheads. Then air drop them behind ISIS lines. Them jihadi folks can finish ’em off.

  8. Would have preferred a muskrat, we’re a might cuter. But, not on my 68 Cyclone.

  9. Nice car and well done Kate.
However, as the owner of a fully restored, number matching 68′ Firebird 350HO, the airbrushing almost makes me ill.
Regardless, nice job but not my thing.
    A Ziggen
