Simple washing won’t help with some berries. The contaminants hide in between the seeds of black, boysen and raspberries. I know from a couple of trips to the ER.
I never eat these without a long soaking in a *very* dilute solution of Clorox/water for about two hours and then another soak in plain water for 3-5 hours to get rid of the bleach.
Soaking berries, greens and other raw food in hydrogen peroxide, aka ‘green bleach’, is much more effective and leaves no toxic residue.
