    Of course, there is a small chance that Trump will appoint competent people to his cabinet (if that happens I will be more optimistic). But that would be completely out of character for the narcissistic blowhard which I why I opposed him even though I support many of his stated policies.

    Decided to flip the radio over after my shift for the drive home.
    Neil Macdonald called an American women nuts for her very clear explanation of why she supports Trump.

  15. I used to be a long-time listener to As It Happens, starting the early 1970s when William Ronald and Harry Brown hosted the show when it was on Monday evenings.
    I stopped listening to it when that twit Enright took over. That man was a pompous ass on the air and, frankly, was a lousy broadcaster. That was about 20 years ago. From your comments, it seems he hasn’t improved since then.

  22. You could not be more WRONG. Trump is all about his “brand. His ego will not allow him to fail. He is a developer. He will assemble a very broad and diverse team of highly accomplished people to build his presidency and rebuild the Country. He will be personally transformed and focused by the gravity and importance of the presidency. The leftist mythology of what kind of a MAN he is … is a joke. Just on the face of his career, the man commands respect. Trump will make it his life’s crowning glory and mission to “close the deal” of his presidency. He knows that he will never be given a pass as the “first white TV reality star” to be president. He knows that he can not play golf and play party host at the White House for 8 years like his predecessor. He was elected … because he UNDERSTANDS the problems faced by a large majority of the American people. He didn’t develop this understanding from focus groups and pollsters. He learned it from the tradesmen working on his jobs. He doesn’t “fly-over” the country like his political opponents. He has actually MADE things, CREATED things … not just had a Muslim personal assistant fetch it for him. Trump is far closer to the common man than his bank book would suggest.
    Me ? I personally HATE the bland Trump “brand”. Schlock architecture and garish clubs. But to deny its success is as idiotic as denying Hillary’s “intent”. Trump NAILED this election. I heard that Hillary was literally giddy at the realization she was running against Trump. SHE had this in the bag. SHE and all the other coastal smug-plorables were laughing in his face. He stumbled, he bumbled, he did everything WRONG … except connect with the American people. Except, get elected President.
    Trump will DO an even BETTER job at running the country than he did running a WINNING campaign.
