Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

She’ll have a hard time convincing astronauts such as USAF Col. Eileen Collins (who not only flew the space shuttle, but was a mission commander), Dr. Peggy Whitson (who commanded the International Space Station), Dr. Sandy Magnus (who flew on the final space shuttle mission), and USN Capt. Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper (who did repair work on the International Space Station), or engineers or executives such as Gwynne Shotwell (president of SpaceX).
Bah, we should be more concerned that the Tesla Roadster that Space X deployed into orbit is causing the red spot storm on Jupiter to dissipate due to carbon emissions.

If one cares to check out the scholarly achievements of astronauts like Roberta Bondar or even Julie Payette, they will show degrees somewhat beyond Womens Studies. Their comments could be worth listening to.

“martin says… they will show degrees somewhat
beyond Womens Studies.”
RED ALERT! RED ALERT!
dangerous patriarchal oppressor detected…
release the [all female] hounds!!!

It’s amazing how many fields of study where Woman’s Studies applied. I used to think that mathematics and calculus was the key to physics and natural sciences. Who knew that true mastery STEM fields depended on Social Justice and Redistributive Theory. I guess ‘Nature Abhors a Vacuum’ is just another way of saying “You have more money than I do so fork it over, asshole.”
So. When women finally achieve academic equality, if not superiority, with men … they use all their knowledge and positions of power to … bitch … about men. To … bitch … about things created by man. Not to actually CREATE anything positive for all of humankind (hat tip Socks). But just to … bitch.
Sorry. But if THAT is what highly educated, powerful, whimmen bring to the table … I’m not interested. Stay in your own cloistered academic echo chambers, and leave the rest of us alone.
Valentina Tereshkova? Svetlana Savitskaya? Roberta Bondar? Mae Jemison (who also appeared on “Star Trek: the Next Generation”)? Uhura?
I guess it’s not “progressive” to explore the final frontier.
It had to be posted.

She learned all she needed to know about space exploration watching the old porno movie Flesh Gordon.
Kenji – make that highly “educated” women. Real women, the ones I am friends with, have real degrees – and some in STEM subjects. They don’t go around whining and bitching, but are quietly competent as what the do, whether in the paid workforce or at home and in the volunteer sphere. You won’t catch any of these whiners helping anyone else; they’re too busy bitching and complaining.
BTW, I have a STEM degree myself.
“Space travel is Patriarchy”
Why not, Sea travel used to be all male. Be there or be square, eh? Want equality? Be equal, be cutting edge.
You ain’t cutting edge, Marcie Bianco. You embrace and epitomize the Crab-in-a-Bucket problem.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crab_mentality
Civilization would be much better off if universities shuttered their grievance studies departments, i.e. women, gender, race, etc. And the people who waste years getting their brains filled with nonsense could then perhaps learn something useful to society. Note to employers out there – never, ever hire someone whose degree has the word “Studies” in it. Especially gender or women’s studies. Those are labour problems waiting to happen.
crab mentality.
there was a time when E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E in the class knew E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E else’s marks.
the edjukashun cystem is at the deep centre core of what’s wrong in society.
they ‘teach’ that not only is gay sex ‘inclusive’ but the actual *mechanics* of it.
they DONT and NEVER WILL teach the little infinite gendered darlings how to watch out for get-rich-quick schemes, how to hire a contractor,
pitfalls of buying a used vehicle. etc
