Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I swear that the bug at left centre of the screen looks just like UNThing. He’ll be here soon to tell us why we’re all immensely stupid and he’s the only one who never employs a non-sequitur (except he misspells it as non-sequitor – must have been those four years he spent in Grade Three) and make another of his colourful arguments.
FoxNews actually showed some clear shots of the landing sites and the darker bits are rocks on a lighter soil or sand like base.

They got a carbon tax on Mars? cuz it seems pretty kold there.
Speaking of bugs, they’ve turned up on the International Space Station. Antibiotic resistant bugs, no less:

I had forgotten about the interesting things that have been discovered about mars:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zpojhD4hpI
Obama and his (leftist) ilk used to HATE NASA … until they weaoponized it to foment Global Warming Climate Change Sudden Catastrophic Apocalyptic Climate Change Extreme Weather (and Muslim employment). Space travel used to be an unnecessary waste of resources $$$ that could be used to help the poor “urban” population. Until … space travel to Mars became an (irrational) existential salvation for mankind. So … for those keeping score …
Space Travel to the Moon … baaaaaad mmmmmKay … a waste of money
Space Travel to Mars … Good! Mankind’s salvation
Yes it is a bit impractical, especially considering how long it takes to arrive there, but some of the technology and the pictures the gadgets send back are interesting.
And don’t forget that the real objective of NASA was to “reach out” to Muslims. A Koran and sharia on every asteroid, probably after NASA caught them–now there’s a thought!
O’Bungles…. supreme space cadet!

Mars has 0.6% of the atmospheric pressure as Earth but it is 95% CO2. My question is “Why isn’t Mars hot hot hot?”
That’s a question I’m sure Catherine McKenna/Climate Barbie could answer.
But not coherently.
too far from that old heat generator, the sun. of course you knew that.
The sun has nothing to do with planetary warming! I learned that from my middle school “science” teacher … and Bill Nye the douchenozzle guy
In December, it will have been 46 years since the last human being stood on the Moon.
Now we must settle for a grainy picture of nothing in particular from some robotic device on Mars?
I don’t know. It’s as if in 1949, 46 years after the Wright brothers at Kitty Hawk, we were celebrating a 100-metre flight by an unmanned glider along Wasaga Beach.
there are far better pictures of mars from previous rovers. where are they?
Two world wars in the first half of the 20th century spurred a lot of research and development. “To the victors the spoils” and oh, how we have spoiled ourselves since.
heres another suggestion to NASA regarding those 1-way-trip satellites.
hows about churning out hundreds of simple utilitarian versions and sending them all over the solar system, put about 30 of them orbitting Mars alone, each capable of acting as a transponder for the rest, coordinating radio frequencies etc. upon reaching the shelf life, or happening on something real curious, then use the one-time-only onboard jets to decelerate out of orbit and do like the early moon probes taking pictures all the way down. click click click SPLAT.
THEN and only then send a lander capable with bells and whistles.
over time you have mapped e-v-e-r-y planet, moon, big asteroid, wtfever and also determined a choice selection of possible manned mission sites.
but nahnnnn, THAT is ‘too much science’ boring stuff. no space jocks involved.
and NO fatalities and NO contamination worries and NO bloated cost overruns.
