   RESPECT IS EARNED. Always be wary of people who demand it.

2. Strange days indeed.
   CSA’s decision to sue PS Knight has exposed the corruption of our civil servants.
   The spineless nature of our politicians.
   And the collapse of law and order.
   Now the Liberals and SNC have come along and highlighted the systemic corruption of our bureaucrats,politicians and courts.
   All good comrades in a wonderful system of Just Us.
   This is kleptocracy.
   This systemic corruption is necessary for fools and bandits to rule .
   Lawfare is a favourite tool, damn near perfect,because the citizens are trapped,we know the value of law and order,yet we are systematically ripped off by the very agents who control the operation of our system.
   The only route to justice is break with law and order.

   Once again, more evidence our “servants” have declared war on us.
   Kleptocracy works great,until the mugs recognize they are the mugs being robbed. By those we pay to protect us from being robbed.

3. Knight’s first, and really only, mistake was to operate under the assumption that we are country of laws. They have been wronged before and I fear they will be wronged again.

4. We have a brand new government in Alberta. Occupational Health and Safety is administered provincially, not federally. PS Knight is based in SE Calgary.
   Premier elect Kenny; designate the PS Knight code manuals as the only official code books for use in Alberta. It would be a small thing but can you imagine the uproar it would cause and this issue might even get some exposure in other areas of Canada.

   1. As a Tradesman and and now an Inspector who has to use CSA codes…I love that Idea Nold..!!

      Back when I was apprenticing in the mid ’70’s, I started to notice The CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) and its seemingly forcefull entry into Structural Welding, by simply having companies recognize CSA W59 (Welded Steel costruction) an then having them “Certified” as a CWB Certified Structural Fabriation Facility under CSA W47.1, in time the Engineers got on board and Dwgs started to note that all construction must be by a CSA W47.1 Certified Company. (Monopoly or what eh.?)

      At no point was there Federal law involved here that I was aware of…they simply came in and SOLD this idea onto the fab shops country wide.

      Im an Inspector, & As one who must keep his codes up to date, I like many, Simply Refuse to pay out $350 + per code evey few years…and as such get them from friends or colleagues. They (CWB), call themselves NON-Profit, but I can tell ya, its a business – BIG TIME.

      As for pay to play.
      In a Recent change to the CSA W178.2 (Welding Inspector Certification), they inserted that all Inspectors must take an upgrading course in the last 3 years of a 6 yr certification. I was unaware of that…and even though I have Welding Eng Tech Diploma w/honours, (SAIT), am Ab J’man, Spent 10 years with a Global Mfgr of Welding products in Cored Wire Develpement, certified for API 570/510 and took 2 Edm based courses in ASME Sect IX & VIII Div 1 codes, they still demanded I take an “upgrading course.” or lose my certification.

      What I see there is a Nod and likely some serious CASH was floated by these accreditation Companies to keep their $2795/5 days Courses full of those being forced to “upgrade” by getting that inserted into the code.

      Fk that noise. I let it expire, and wrote the exams in under 3 hrs – re-certified for $ 483.00.
      Non Profit my ass.

6. Why would anyone believe the CSA is an isolated case? No government of any stripe has done anything to clean it up either.

   Perhaps the people who are actually in charge of Canada emplace their people in such organizations. It serves multiple purposes. It gives their stooges exorbitant salaries and benefits at taxpayer expense. It allows them to pick winners and losers through a Mafioso-type shake-down where only those who pay the fig get to do business. It allows them to steal the best ideas to give to the companies of their friends. Their people remain untouched by elections.

   Politicians come and go, but civil servants remain forever.

   And the people behind such companies as Power Corp., Bombardier, SNC Lavalin, etc. do very well indeed. Despite their corruption and massive incompetence.

   But I’m just a conspiracy theorist. I imagine that this can also be explained by the usual charges of stupidity, tribalism, and politics. And everything will get cleaned up when [insert name or political party here] gets into power!

7. It seems as if the “Govenment’s Nutty Association” is laying the groundwork for slowly backing into an insanity defense if all else fails.

   Ive been trying for >25 goddamn YEARS to get the bldg code in ontariowe amended to MANDATE decent and sufficient and strategically located BIKE RACKS.
   first time I tried was a CONservatist one-hit-wonder terence young. ’tis the responsibibity o’ da moooonicpality uhuh uhuh uhuh.
   NO fcukface, it is the responsibility of the municipality to ENFORCE *existing* codes, NOT to draw them up. what kind of friggin subatomic particle ZOO would we have if the codes were different for every goddamn municipality in the province?
   but, like I said this shythead CONservatist LOST his seat when mikey cut the number of mpps.
   heh heh heh.
