  1. So it turns out Britons are rather unhappy about being stuck in the EU three years after the referendum.

Not only are the Tories set to finish fourth in the European election (that Britain should not be taking part in at all), but a general election now would probably make Nigel Farage leader of the opposition, at bare minimum.

Still want your second referendum, kids?

    1. Why you should always never negotiate or use the crooked stacked courts. Just go straight to UDI and wipe out all treaty’s and connections then start over if you need something they have. All politicians are crooks and thieves at heart.

      1. Britain has a big enough nuclear arsenal that giving Europe the finger was actually a realistic option, too.

  2. I have been a fan of little Stevie Winwood since he was 16yo (and I was about 9yo). I am a sucker for blue eyed soul, esp. when it has a deep rooted jazz vibe … such as the 11min. masterpiece …

Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. I was fortunate enough to purchase a pristine state (used) MFSL re-engineered repressing of this seminal lp. Little Stevie was THE MAN … few musicians FEEL the music like he did.

Good call, Robert. Gonna spin the lp tomorrow in honor of his b-day.

    1. I’ve long known that I’m not as moved by music as most people but was a big fan of Winwood since the first day I drove on my own. I dropped off my dad at work in the 1967 Buick he helped me buy and then drove to high school in Vancouver. On the radio came “While You Get a Chance” and it has been my favourite song ever since.

    1. And if it was a Climate Emergency what ever in the hell that was. What would be the Government solution. They would take every last bit of property and money you own in some great swindle. And leave you cold shivering on the street.
The Ballot Box, The Soap Box, the Cartridge Box.

    2. That 34% AGREE..? is why I would have no issue seeing the Lower MAOland dissapear in the Coming BIG one…nor gilligans greenie Island either.

With luck most of the Eco Nazi’s will be there when it happens, suzuki, robertson, berman, may etc.

To think I used to live in Vancouver…. Left in ’76 – 100% transplant Albertan – dont miss it – never regretted it.

      1. To think I used to live in Vancouver…. Left in ’76 – 100% transplant Albertan – dont miss it – never regretted it.

I know what you’re talking about.

I left Alberta to start grad studies at UBC nearly 40 years ago. I left a year later, one reason having to contend with the idiocy of living in clown cuckoo land. I had absolutely no desire to return there except on business, even doing that reluctantly.

    1. It was on a sweltering summer night outdoors that I first saw the group ‘Cream’ with Eric Clapton years ago in Mtl. This was at Isle Notre Dame at the former Expo ’67 grounds. The place was crowded and the band was far off in the distance. However, the sound system was terrific. They played that song for at least 15 minutes.
      What a tease!

Hot fun. The place was bouncing. Everyone was dancing!

      1. Was in Montreal in 67 wild town, all night clubs. Cream, Sunshine of your love, Crossroads, Whiteroom, Ginger Baker Pressed Rat and Warthog. The Fwench Women were fabulous. Ha Ha Ha

    2. No question, one of the great rock & roll compositions for guitar. Instantly recognizable with a beat that can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Clapton always claimed the song was anti-cocaine but I would like to meet the person or persons with a serious cocaine abuse problem and after hearing the song, immediately decided to use LESS cocaine.

  3. “Think of an ice skater who is spinning,” says Felix Landerer of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, Germany. “When you stretch your arms out you slow down, and when you bring your arms closer to your body you spin faster.” Earth, it seems, will hug itself a little bit tighter because of global warming.

In other words we don’t need giant fans or giant mirrors or sparky cars. We just need a pair of giant arms to stick out and slow the earth down. Makes perfect sense to me.

    1. “When you stretch your arms out you slow down, and when you bring your arms closer to your body you spin faster.”

Wouldn’t increased temperature make the oceans expand, increasing the diameter, and making the earth slow down? They’ve got it bass ackwards. mind you, any change would by almost unmeasurable.

  4. Climate Change is a normal thing on this planet.
There is Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.
It is all very lovely and occasionally there are extremes in temperatures and conditions. One must dress accordingly. There really is no such thing as bad weather….only ‘bad’ clothing.

    Yawn.

Mustn’t let the nervous Nellies get to you. They want to charge you extra for their ‘consensus’ as if they they proved it in a court of law. They haven’t. They wouldn’t dare try.

    No, they prefer extortion.

  5. Good article on the Chinese Money Laundering in BC. Seems they have turned up 7B in money laundering in the housing sector. No were do they mention the word CHINA TRIAD. The Liberals best buddies.
Remember when Chretien shut down the RCMP probe into CHINESE TRIADS. Remember how Chretien worked for Gordon Financial all Chinese owned, remember how Powercorp is in partnership with CIITC The Chinese Military Financial Services.
Chickens coming home. But Chretien is wealthy tho. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-05-11/cancer-our-economy-report-finds-over-7-billion-laundered-through-british-columbia

    1. Watcher…!

“..Powercorp” is in partnership with CIITC The Chinese Military Financial Services..”

I did not know that – good info…and totally unsurprising. The Desmarais Family has very long tentacles and a shit ton of $$. They who hold the REAL power in this country…as it has been for decades.

      1. I spelled it wrong it is CITIC and yes big connections to Powercorp and Canadian PM’s. Probably Justina as well. Remember how quickly Chretien and the Liberals shutdown Sidewinder RCMP investigation into China and BC. Maybe all the reason for Justina’s frequent trips to Hongcouver. Every PM out of Quebec has been owned and handled by Powercorp. Everyone of them. And you thought your vote mattered? Ha Ha Ha

      2. Steak there are a lot of sources verifying this. Chretien quickly shutdown the RCMP Sidewinder Inv. because it exposed the Chicoms in Hongcouver and the Triads. Every Quebec PM since PET has been owned and handled by Powercorp. Powercorp runs Canada and you thought your vote mattered? Canada is a criminal enterprise and Canadians are INMATES. Read Bastiat Voluntary Servitude.

          1. I have followed this gangsterism for years. I had files at one time, when my wife got cancer and I had to shift focus I let it slide. Lost a lot of info and I have found that whoever controls the internet has been going in and deleting a lot of dirt on these bigger fish. I suspect that when Obama handed it to the UN. They quickly sent in their censors to clean things up. Soon the internet as we know it will be useless. Private Research and Blogs like SDA will become a thing of the past. As you will not be able to question expose or discuss very much. Much like what has happened at FB Twitter. The INMATES will have to accept their gruel and repeat the lies. Lies like PET was Canada’s Greatest Prime Minister.

    2. Keep in mind, this report was produced by an NDP government, with a pre-determined agenda.

Foreign money =dirty money according to the socialists. Thinly veiled racism.

It’s not to say there hasn’t been laundering going on, but I’m not trusting the NDP story about anything, they are untrustworthy social justice warriors

  6. The CBC warns us this Mothers Day that there are to many white people on TV in Quebec.

  7. There has been a sudden increase in media outrage over guns since the Liberals got crushed by the SNC and Norman debacles. I can only conclude that the Liberals are going to make gun control a central issue on their upcoming election campaign. They don’t have much else to stand on. Gun ownership is not big in the heavily populated areas like Toronto, Ottawa, Windsor etc. These areas typically vote Liberal. So watch out rural Canada and especially Alberta, because the Liberals are coming for your guns in October.

“Fifty per cent of all handguns used in crime, that we’ve been able to trace, have been diverted from legal Canadian firearm owners,” the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police says.

… legal Canadian firearm owners …

    1. UPDATE From the Canadian Shooting Sports Association (CSSA):

Liberal Government’s “Sweeping Gun Ban” to Ban AR-15 Rifles
OSHAWA – M.P. Tony Clement’s question about a possible gun ban by Order in Council, combined with Minister Bill Blair’s subsequent non-answer, sparked a firestorm of speculation yesterday.

Today, two separate, unconnected government sources, one of whom who has direct knowledge of the plan, confirm the Liberal government’s proposed “sweeping gun ban” will include the AR-15 target rifle.

We have no information if any other firearms will be included.

Coincidentally, in response to a question from TheGunBlog.ca, the RCMP revealed Canadians own 66,262 AR-15 rifles.i

In 2016, the RCMP reported 84,288 “registered AR-15 type rifles and variants” in response to an Access to Information Request filed by firearm researcher Dennis Young.ii

Given a low estimate $1500 per firearm, such a buyback would cost $126 million to the taxpayers of Canada. There has only been ONE (stolen) AR-15 used in the commission of a crime (2004) in Canada.
Will current owners of AR-15 rifles be permitted to keep their lawfully owned property under the delayed confiscation system known as “Grandfathering”?

We don’t know, but it appears likely, based upon Bill C-71’s proposed firearm classifications 12(11) and 12(14).

Will current owners of AR-15 rifles be permitted to take their guns to the shooting range for target practice and shooting competitions?

Again, we don’t know but it appears likely, based upon Bill C-71’s proposed firearm classifications 12(11) and 12(14).

The official announcement is speculated to take place at the Women Deliver Conference in Vancouver June 3-6, hosted by the Prime Minister’s wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.

The civilian AR-15 is the most produced sporting rifle in the world and the standard “patrol carbine” used by almost all Canadian police services to save lives. In Canada, civilian AR-15 magazines are limited to five shots and may be discharged only on a legitimate shooting range

We will continue to provide you with the latest on this developing issue as we learn more. For now, all we know from two high-ranking officials is the AR-15 rifle, will be included in the government’s “sweeping gun ban.”

      1. This is one of the reason’s I can not stand the Lying, simpering, POS Harper, he Lied big time on getting rid of the Gun Control. And he did not have the backbone and a set of nuts to sell off the CBC when he had an iron clad majority. Just a POS. He is worse than any Liberal. Very disappointed that Kenney is allowing this LIBERAL Coyote around his campfire.

        1. Watch:
Did you read PMSH book on hockey? A Great Game? Wrote it while he was in office. A good read.

          1. No never read his book Trapper.. I liked Harper but when he started lying and weasel shitting he turned me off big time. His other big BIG mistake was not making way for someone like Kenney.

        2. my view on harper the bully control freak can be found all over SDA.
and like so many bullies, also a coward.

    2. I love the careful deceit in this statement.
“Fifty per cent of all handguns used in crime, that we’ve been able to trace, have been diverted from legal Canadian firearm owners,” the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police says.
      Did you get it?
“that we’ve been able to trace, ”
This how you can tell a Liberal is lying, its lips are moving.
Just like the Cult of Calamitous Climate, this other branch of the police state, neglects to tell the rest of the story.
We have no journalists at CBC, as the obvious question:”How many were you able to trace?” Will never be asked.

Just as the Catastrophic warming of the average global temperature of 0.7C , never do we hear;”What is the error range of this “metric?”.
Given the amount of “correction, infilling and extrapolation, plus or minus 2C might cover it.
Nevermind that the thing is not a measurement or even a meaningful construct.

Plus the other part of the firearms story;Did the RCMP ever follow up on the evidence that their registry was being used to identify handgun owners and expedite the theft of their property?
Of course well all know how “secure” government data bases are.

      1. Yes, I got that one. Interesting reading the comments section. People have opened their eyes – which is a lot to ask for at CBC.

The article states that criminals are increasingly using untraceable weapons and also that half of the traceable weapons were from legal gun owners. I would have thought (using logic and common sense) that all traceable weapons would be from legal gun owners otherwise we have a lot of stupid criminals out there.

  8. When you think Mothers Day at the CBC, you think its a great time to promote abortion.

  9. More attention is being paid to non-payment of oil & gas royalties in Alberta. I’m not sure if this is related to the Kenny win but the increased reporting shows the Alberta government coughing up over $6 million in 2018 to cover payments normally made by now near-bankrupt oil & gas companies.

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/alberta-asrb-surface-rental-payments-1.5127900

Alberta’s oil & gas industry is a socialist’s paradise (when it works). The government owns the oil rights, even on private land. You have to pay the government a royalty, the municipality a royalty and the land owner a royalty. And when you run out of money you screw the land owner first, then the municipality and finally the provincial government.

Ultimately the Alberta government (i.e. the tax payer) is on the hook for closing all the abandoned wells in that province. Those with wells on their land loved getting cheques until the cheques stopped coming. Now they want the government to cap those wells.

“Kirstein [a land owner] now faces three challenges. He may not receive another payment again, even though the gas wells are still on his land. His local municipality is raising taxes because too many energy companies in the area are not paying their property taxes. His property value may also fall without the revenue from the wells.”

  10. Respected Economist Casts Doubt On ‘Record’ StatsCan Job Claim, Compares It To “Dumbest Student” Handing In ‘A’ Report

What Rosenberg is saying matches with what many people have noticed about the economy over recent years. The information reported by Statistics Canada seems increasingly disconnected with what’s actually happening on the ground.

    https://www.spencerfernando.com/2019/05/11/respected-economist-casts-doubt-on-record-statscan-job-claim-compares-it-to-dumbest-student-handing-in-a-report/

Yes, I was suspicious when I heard the “jobs” report. The timing with the Norman fiasco was impeccable.

  11. Just watched ctv’s question period .Our defence minister is nothing short of an idiot

    1. MND Sajjan is sorry Adml Norman went through that, having is life, reputation and career ruined. Weren’t you the “architect?”
Isn’t the “new evidence” precisely what you refused to disclose to the defense? Wasn’t your predicate the belief of Brison et al?
Wasn’t General Leslie set to testify against the government, having already resigned from it, the very day charges were stayed?
IOW, who the heck to you think you’re trying to fool with this nonsense? Water under the bridge? The flood already dammed?
We see. When can we expect your letter of resignation? Without consequences, leadership is impossible. So buck up buddy.
So many questions, so few answers. Perhaps the SNC Lavalin debacle provides perspective and relevance to voters?
Having moved the matter off criminal justice, the Grits now seek to fix the court of public opinion – too.

  12. “Yes, I was suspicious when I heard the “jobs” report.”

The 100,000 jobs were fake. Lying is what Liberals do. I guess it helps break headlines of scandal but why didn’t they save that lie until a month before the election? Because of this lie, there will be no net new jobs for the next several months.

  13. Zman talks about Ben Shapiro’s recent disastrous, aborted interview at the BBC. Like Scruton recently, he did not do his homework for the gotcha interview format.

Another analogy is the boxer who has built a record beating up bums. The first time he faces someone who can fight back, he does not know what to do. That was largely the case with Mike Tyson back in the day. People who knew boxing saw the flaws in his game, but Tyson mowed through aging stars and over-hyped bums, so the fans and media never noticed those flaws. Then he met a guy who did notice those flaws and trained to exploit them. Tyson was knocked out and never the same afterward.

That’s what you saw in that BBC video. Andrew Neil is a professional, who has built a career pressing his guests. He’s heard every trick by this point, so Shapiro’s efforts to derail him were quickly turned against him. Like that fighter who suddenly realizes the other guy is not going to just fall down. Shapiro started to panic and things got progressively worse for him until he just quit on his stool. The only thing missing was his handler rushing in to throw in the towel and protect his fighter.

    http://thezman.com/wordpress/?p=17345

He also mentions that when we click on “Ben Shapiro destroys” links it’s often an unstable youth or co-ed.

  14. ‘A Simple Song’ (Lyle Lovett):

    So disillusioned
    Keep your head down
If you do they’ll never know
You’ll have no answers to their questions
And they will have to let you go
    And disenfranchised
    Revolution
They’ll take away by right what’s yours
And make you martyrs of your own cause
When they don’t know what cause it’s for

  17. How bad can TV get….The granny from the old show “Beverlyhillbillies (Granny and Jed Clampett’s) is now on the Bench of the “Judge Judy” show …. butt ugly hairdo Judy!

  18. Unbelievable Silence from the State Controlled Canadian Media. I have been watching to see their take on Premier Kenney’s visit to Ottawa. While there he told the Senate that full 50% of Albertan’s want out of Canada, and that if Ottawa did not change its ways he would use the Clarity Act to take Alberta out of Canada.
Now imagine the reaction if a Fwench Premier from Quebec did and said what Kenney said.
Get out while the Gettins Good Alberta. UDI Kenney. Smarten Up Kenney UDI. Run off the Coyote Harper Kenney. https://calgaryherald.com/opinion/columnists/braid-kenneys-tough-message-hasnt-yet-cracked-ottawa-complacency
