  1. It’s been a tough go lately for Catherine McKenna, Canada’s shouty minister of — this makes me laugh — Environment and Climate Change. Or, as she says, with a straight face, “the minister in charge of the weather.”

Imagine having a staff of 24 people working on her Twitter communications, and not one of them saying, um, boss, it’s a bit off.

She’s had a tough go of it lately, as voters in province after province have kicked out governments that supported Trudeau’s carbon tax, and have voted in governments that vigorously oppose them. The latest of course being Jason Kenney in Alberta; but Doug Ford before that, and even the Atlantic provinces.

The Liberals are behind in the polls. Her party’s going to lose office if this keeps up.

Maybe that’s the time to do less, step away from the Twitter a bit.

    But nope:

    All here

    1. There is no science that says that we/man can do squat about the climate.

    2. Here let me correct that for you Big Mouth Barbie

“It’s concerning that today’s Conservative politicians want to tax less, not more,”

      Yer welcome.

  2. U.N. Official Reveals Real Reason Behind Warming Scare

Economic Systems: The alarmists keep telling us their concern about global warming is all about man’s stewardship of the environment. But we know that’s not true. A United Nations official has now confirmed this.

At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.

Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

Figueres is perhaps the perfect person for the job of transforming “the economic development model” because she’s really never seen it work. “If you look at Ms. Figueres’ Wikipedia page,” notes Cato economist Dan Mitchell: Making the world look at their right hand while they choke developed economies with their left.

  3. The Candace Owens Show: Imam Mohamad Tawhidi

    ————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
A former Islamist Imam left the Muslim world under death threats. He has become a most erudite and articulate counter-jihad campaigner in the West. The death threats continue, of course, nowhere is truly safe
anymore. No government, nor MSM has yet to jettison their Muslim Brotherhood “advisors” and appoint him to replace them. Because, well…

  4. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) – U.S. government biologists have launched a special investigation into the deaths of at least 70 gray whales washed ashore in recent months along the U.S. West Coast, from California to Alaska, many of them emaciated, officials said on Friday.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) declared the whale die-off an “unusual mortality event,” a designation that triggers greater scrutiny and allocation of more resources to determine the cause.

So far this year, 37 dead gray whales have turned up in California waters, three in Oregon, 25 in Washington state and five in Alaska, say officials of NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service. Five more were found in British Columbia.

Many of them emaciated, so they starved from a lack of food, what killed off their food supply in the Pacific Ocean?

Nah, Fukushima would have nothing to do with it now could it.

      1. I wish I had one of those single person submarines that require scuba gear.
lots of freedom of movement to shadow them and bang the bottom of the hull until they
        LEAVE THE WHALES ALONE GODDAMMIT.

I would not object ot a highly sophisticated drone hovering and taking live vid feeds on the web
to satisfy the curious and provide funding via subscription fees or etc.

I had the same bloody problem when I DID engage in scuba diving. always some fcukhead ASSHOLE chasing after the wildlife away instead of letting them approach the diver who would remain motionless, and thus get a REAL closeup look at their behaviour.

one of the reasons I gave up the sport.

        1. Years ago, while I was a grad student, the lab I was in had a post-doctoral fellow from a certain European country working in it. One day, he said that he had some friends visiting and they decided to do some sight-seeing.

I thought that with Canada being the second-largest country in the world, with a wide variety of topographies, that he might want to go see the NWT with not only the continental shield but all that territory north of the treeline. They could have driven to Alaska along the highway, where there are areas where there’s no one else around for tens of kilometres. There were the Alberta Badlands or the the area north of Grande Prairie where one can see dinosaur remains that even attract paleontologists from China. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Nope. Where did those Euro-yuppies go and what did they do? Why, they went to the left coast to–wait for it!–whale-watching. Aaaaargh!

    1. @ 2:16 am
“Nah, Fukushima would have nothing to do with it now could it.”

Possibly a diet of (non-nutritious) plastic bags is making them waste away. Their guts may have intestinal obstruction.

    2. Fukushima was 8 years go. The gray whales were probably interfering with the human food fishery.

    3. Food source disappearing because of warming waters?? What makes more sense is food source disappearing because of cooling waters. The fake ocean warming numbers are creating a lot of bad science.

    4. Soylent Green not too far away if the oceans are dying. Watch for green new energy bars out soon…missing elderly, homeless, etc.

Truth maybe more stranger than fiction it seems. Even today after watching that movie back in the 70’s I still appreciate those tine natural strawberries and a vine ripened tomatoes and wonder how much longer…

    1. Any guesses who is murdered more than Indian women? Indian men. And they are mostly all killed by Indian men. They both live in a very violent society. White people’s homicide rate is a fraction of Indian’s. The inquiry could have asked why Indians are killing each other? Instead they went with fiction.

If they want to know what genocide looks like I would show them my family tree from Russia with massive amounts of young deaths from starvation in the 1920s and 1930s and the deportation to Siberia in 1942. My fathers uncle, likely an apolitical farmer, was executed in 1937 for the crime of being German.

  5. Maybe Climate Barbie should have a little talk with her boss about his carbon footprint. Today our environmentalist prime minister burns jet fuel at taxpayer expense to B.C. to visit a fire hall. What a guy.

  6. The bold headline and front page story at the Saturday Toronto Star, is GENOCIDE! Yes lots of stories on the genocide of indian women. No word on when we are going to have our own Nuremberg war crimes trial. And don’t miss the special multi page supplement that Doug Ford is Hitler. Yes UNIFOR and the Star have put together a special supplement to describe how evil the Conservative Party in Ontario is. We need higher taxes to support public sector workers. And the UNIFOR president stated this week that he will continue to fight against all Conservative Parties while on Groper’s panel to bribe newspapers.

    1. “while on Groper’s panel to bribe newspapers.”

      Don’t you mean:

while on Groper’s panel to strong arm newspapers.

  7. • Some details of the mass shooting in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    https://youtu.be/LDXnPF_JyL

Back in the day I spent some vacay time there. It is a beautiful place. Saw many naval ships floating by while on the beach. It is a naval town.

(One has to be careful of ‘asset’ biting crabs if lounging on the beach. They sneak up on you!)

    1. Could be for the same reason the United Church decided to take on sex education for young children, making sure the kindergarten set knows all about LBQT, etc. They think they are standing up for tolerance and justice, but really they are undermining our culture, traditional values and (in the case of the oil) the economy.

  8. Pickit Wilson, let that kid eat his Boogers. Good news for Autistic children and others. Gut bacteria apparently when it is out of wrack can cause big problems. These kids who had severe autism have been basically cured by providing beneficial gut bacteria. Amazing. Pass along to folks who you know with autistic family members. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. https://www.economist.com/science-and-technology/2019/05/30/more-evidence-that-autism-is-linked-to-gut-bacteria

  9. June yikes?
lard tunderin. how about 2019 yikes??? LOL !!!

I made a joke once after a history lecture about how I was on the city bus in 1969
and dozed off and when I woke up it was 30 years later.

    LOL !!!

  10. The report … concludes that a genocide driven by the disproportionate level of violence faced by Indigenous women and girls occurred in Canada through “state actions and inactions rooted in colonialism and colonial ideologies.”

Just the sort of lying carp we expected. Doubtless this “genocide” can only be healed with lots of wampum.

  11. my take on the Raptors hooplah:

a smart team owner does NOT want them to take the championship.
    why would that be?
because the star performers will all want their contract renegotiated to the tune of >50 Mill per year, that’s why.

but 2nd place means he can sell the whiners for top dollah, all the while brushing off demands for
cash with ‘yawell ya didnt PRODUCE’

ticket sales the *following season* set a record.

    see what I mean?

ps. I do NOT watch pro sports. Im NOT a couch potato. I *never* yammered and yammered and yammered at the office
non fcukin stop about lindros lindros lindros lindros lindros lindros lindros lindros lindros either.

    1. I’m a sports agnostic as well. I don’t ever recall participating in workplace sports pools, nor did I spend much time, if any, discussing what happened during a game the night or weekend before.

I had no idea about the Raptors and, frankly, I couldn’t care less what happens.

  12. “this “genocide” can only be healed with lots of wampum”
A federal election is coming up. Can some kind of reparations payment be far behind.

Leon Redbone has been featured lots but his cover of an old Blues standard, ‘Jellyroll’, is so good I had to link it.
It starts 6 minutes into this video.

  13. The Pakistani Muslim Sadiq Khan, who was elected mayor of London over the objections of its English residents, has dared compare President Trump to the sort of 20th-century fascist brought to power by Khan’s own globalist paymasters.

Meanwhile, loyal Englishmen will be glad to hear from the president that England is not alone in her struggle to take back control of her trade and her borders.
