  1. Sounds a lot more progressive than conservative.

    Terrible speech.

“We are going to defeat Jeremy Corbin “?

    Is Corbin the current PM?

Better statement, “we are going to win”

    1. “Defeat” is the correct word. Jeremy Corbyn is not just the political opposition, he is the enemy.

    2. Wrong, Ward. It was a good speech. It struck just the right notes of reconciliation within the party. And it closed with one good line, “The campaign is over and now the work begins.”

  2. I can hardly wait for the first photo op with Johnson and Trump. I hope its a windy day.

  3. The opening sentence of his acceptance speech should have been, “Kill moose and squirrel.”

  4. His predecessor proved that the UK is quite capable of undignified prostration in front of EU bureaucrats while telling them that they have taken their best alternative to a negotiated settlement off the table. Lets see if Boris can Brexit with no deal as that’s likely now the only way that it can happen. I could only stand so much of his speech as he mouthed the requisite niceties to the Party “Brass”.

    1. John, he needs their votes, to defeat a bill that would prevent a “no deal exit” .
Boris is fine with a “no deal exit”, too many in the Conservative Party don’t want to leave without a deal with the EU.

      1. Yet he’s been given the JOB to BREXIT the hell OUT of the EU. Clean. With no entanglements or sell-outs to the globalists. We shall see just how dedicated he is to that goal.

        Sorry

All I got out of his speech was … ‘bait and switch’

  5. Where the government still packs your lunch, the foxes still caper unmolested, and Nigel Farage is a shoo-in to be the next first Prime Minister, and the first in a very long time to be loyal to Britain and Britain alone.

Forgive me if I don’t wish the best of British to the first Turk to reside at Number 10—with his mistress in tow, no doubt.

  6. Boris will, in a much more colourful, vibrant and amusing way, … keep the UK in the EUSSR.

  7. Prorogue Parliament until the end of October and British independence. Parliament can then meet to tidy things up.

    1. Scar, that’s an interesting solution. Can they do that in the UK?

Of course the EU might then vote to extend the deadline.

      1. Yes, that is possible. The globalist MP’s are working on preventing it, so they can bring down the Johnson government and trigger an election, a second referendum in all but name.

The EU are working on another extension in hope of getting a more compliant government after a general election.

    1. Words in a speech from any politician is just words we will know who he really is on what actions he is truly trying to sell.

  8. Johnson will probably push immediately for a no deal Brexit and once that is blocked there will be a general election.

There is no easy way out of this and he will have to move quickly with a no deal Brexit. Once the Tory Remain saboteurs have scuttled that, he will call a general election to gain a mandate, and to weed out the Remain saboteurs in his party.

If he is clearly going for a no deal Brexit Nigel Farage will coordinate with him so that the election isnt spoiled, allowing a hard left minority government.

Theresa May was such a pushover that many Conservative voters have practically given up hope and optimism for the future.

If Johnson moves quickly and clearly states his intention to finish this on Britain’s terms very quickly, deal or no deal, he will win.

  9. Well to those that mocked a few years ago about the whole get out of EU, here we go again. A little later than supposed
The idiot is no more a BREXITeer than was “Sharia May” or the “Boy Dave”. Any old reader of the Spectator(UK) will know exactly what I mean.
The clarity of the deviousness and plotting of UK’s deep deep state and the blatant usurping of the peoples will is the only thing the whole charade has been useful for.

Which way will this go? My guess is that the deep state has plotted that the idiot is the one that will get Treasonous sharias deal through. My guess is that there are enough worried gravy train panic-eers around that chaos will ensue and I hope that the best bet for us, the filthy commoners, the few remaining English people is despite (and really it is despite) the best intentions of the ruling class we somehow get out of the UCSE (United countries of socialist europe) otherwise know as the “beast” by default.

    1. Sorry about the bad grammar an’ ‘all.

      Long hot(for the UK) day
Written after the beer session and a few G&Ts.

  10. How much crap can an intelligent person take. Jeez, the world really is coming to an end.

  11. “Mr Johnson paid tribute to Theresa May’s “extraordinary service to this party and this country”.
Yes it was extraordinary the way May promised to respect the Brexit vote over 3 years ago and then weaseled out of implementing it.

That said, since the vote for Brexit was 3 years ago; Boris can take UK out of the EU right now, not in October, RIGHT NOW.
That’s right Boris, the vote was 3 years ago for a No Deal Brexit and it’s high time you and your party stopped dithering.

  12. He’s probably as far to the right as any electable person could be in the UK, don’t see Farage as ever breaking the 10-15 per cent barrier but who knows, maybe in time more people will wake up to reality. The Brits are fairly used to a progressive social environment and there aren’t a lot of safe houses for anything too stridently non-PC so you have to put up with a bit of watering down as we will likely see with Boris. Anyway, on to the war with Iran … which we don’t need, but seems to be almost inevitable. Ask yourself this, who does a war against Iran actually benefit the most? Right.

    1. He’s not “right” at all. He’s big government just like his pal Cameron.

  13. I don’t trust him, he’s an old pal of Cameron and an Etonian. However, if he’s watched like a hawk, he should bring Brexit home.

  14. “…if he’s watched like a hawk, he should bring Brexit home…”

Well, we’ll have to depend on the public, because there’s precious few in his Party who will push him to a clean break.

And if Canada had balls and brains (it has neither) it would recognize this as a golden opportunity: they’d be meeting him tomorrow and pushing him towards a Brexit and making trade deals.

    1. But it’s a very lucrative one for the EU and German industry has made it very clear that they are desperate to keep friendly relations with UK as it is the largest export market for German cars.

    2. Agree with Buddy on Britain being a shithole and will add that sentimentality is a useless emotion.

If you ever need to understand what a shithole UK has become, watch on YouTube the TV series “Can’t Pay. We’ll Take it Away.”
It’s about Crown High Court Enforcers going after debtors and seizing their assets to pay past-due debts. Addictive and educational.
