  1. I wonder what she means by effective. Effective at reducing climate change? (what ever the hell that means). Nope. Effective at killing the economy? Yep. Effective at currying favors from Tom Steyer and his cronies? Absolutely. Two out of three ain’t bad.

        1. The difference Watcher is that Ontario doesn’t really pretend anymore. Looking at the typical election results, Ontario urban centers vote left and rural areas right. Which areas have more voters?

          The problem in Alberta is Edmonton and Calgary carry most of the population. Alberta walks like a cowboy and votes like a school teacher. And pointing out the obvious is not lecturing. It’s pointing out the obvious. I wish Alberta was full of red-neck cowboys. But they iron their jeans for the Stampede and drink Chardonnay.

  11. The population of the planet will grow exponentially as will the CO2 out put. It is a good thing that CO2 does not cause the planet to warm or have any effect whatsoever on the climate.

      Actually the birth rate is declining all over the globe. Many countries are below population replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman.

      2. joe, in 1945 the population was about 2.3 billion, it is now about 8 billion, and joe, it is growing. the followers of islam are out stripping your 2.1 by about 5.6. never mind china and india.

        1. The global population will peak at just over 9 billion.

          Birth rates are declining all over the world. Some places are still above population replacement rate of 2.1 births per woman. But for the vast majority of countries, including Muslim ones, the birth rate is falling.

    ZERO pipelines will be put in the ground in Canaduh.

      God help me, even the Chinese expected the pipeline to be built by now. In China it would have been. It would be leaking every few miles and the water along its path would be poisoned beyond redemption (something only the Epoch Times would bother to report). But it would be pumping oil to the Pacific.

      That’s why Beijing turfed Harper and why they plan to turf Trudeau. They couldn’t deliver on their promise to get Canadian oil to China, which China will need desperately when Saudi runs out no later than 2030.

      No wealth, no programs, nothing to pay the conscripts that provide security to the politburo. Once the creditors come calling, thats when uncle sam starts declaring Canada a protectorate to keep a foreign entity from getting North American territory at fire sale prices.
      Thats when the west can ask for statehood.

  16. There is little hope for Canada the way things are going right now . Polls showing a lib minority/majority in October do not bode well for hard working Canadians. Western Canada is toast . The deck was stacked in the courts and legislatures long ago to favour of urban and eastern districts.

    1. As I mentioned in the past, I knew this country was finished when we had the federal election which returned PET to office nearly 40 years ago.

      By the time the polls closed in the Vancouver area, the election was already won by the Liberals (thanks for nothing, Ontario and Quebec). It was after that night that I stopped taking politics, and the electoral process, in this country seriously. It wasn’t until this past election that I paid more attention, not that it did any good. It was 1980 all over again.

    I don’t disagree that turdo-la-first’s re-election was a sign that Canada was irretrievably screwed from then on. But face it, turdo la first got elected and re-elected because of urban voters from all across Canada – and that includes St. John’s, Halifax, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

    The divide in this Country isn’t east-west, it’s urban-rural. The life and livelihood of a logger in Prince George BC is totally controlled by a million or so vapid twerps in the lower mainland, just as Alberta pipelines are being held up by tree-huggers in Edmonton and my land-use is dictated by Disneylanders in Ottawa and Toronto.

    1. I was referring to the 1980 election when Joe Who was turfed out and PET allowed back in. After that, we got a Constitution that nobody voted for and a Bill of Rights which turned out to be anything but, being more concerned about the state’s power. Those were inflicted upon us unilaterally and with little or no debate by the Emperor-in-Chief.

      I’m not sure that the divide is necessarily between the urban and rural areas. The town I grew up in, and which I visit frequently as I settle my father’s estate, was largely blue-collar when I moved away over 40 years ago. Now, it calls itself a city and has adopted the worst aspects of urban existence. It’s become quite a loopy place to live and has taken on a distinctly, and revolting, progressive attitude.

      A lot of that comes, I think, from people who moved there from Lotusland and who, no doubt, took with them their fruitloopery.

      Then again, I could say much the same about Edmonton and Calgary.
