The FBI has arrested a Chinese government official as part of China’s massive scheme to illegally obtain American technology by recruiting experts in high-tech fields.
Zhongsan Liu was arrested after a lengthy investigation into his role in directing a Chinese government front group in New Jersey called the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel (CAIEP), the Justice Department said in a statement.

You wouldn’t want to know the number of security compromises that routinely occur across the Five-Eyes community.
However, few of them seem to be deemed newsworthy.
60 Minutes re-ran a story on Sunday about the opioid crisis in the USA. They discovered that of 52 companies sending opioids thru the US Postal system were all from China. While all common carriers in the USA had to produce manifests of their shipments after 9/11 the USA Postal Service was given a period to comply. They never have after 18 years. I remember the bruhaha when Trump pulled China’s special postal rate which had packages coming to America for less than $5. Good work by the Donald!
I was in our Post Ofiice (Canada) today and mentioned the program to the worker there. I was told they handle ‘lots’ of packages from China. She could not tell me if those packages were screened or not.
