When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

IG Report identifies “seven significant inaccuracies and omissions” in FISA warrant application.

This is legal speak for – 7 lies.

Sen. Lindsay Graham reacts.

@tracybeanz Thread: Analysis of the IG Report on the Review of Four FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s CrossfirevHurricane Investigation

More:

Durham says: “last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened“. This is important because the difference between the inspector general and the U.S. attorney is that John Durham has interviewed Downer and Mifsud, and Horowitz has not.

Therefore for Durham to state the predication was not justified, has to come from his contact with Ambassador Downer or Joseph Mifsud.

  1. AG Barr and US Attorney Dunham were not impressed with the IG Horowitz conclusions either, and they are the ones that decide things like criminal indictments too.

I personally hope thar Carter Page, George Papadopolous, and anyone illegally surveilled sue the heck out of the government AND these people personally for violating their civil rights with these phony wiretaps and politically corrupt investigations.

If we cannot put them in jail, their victims should sue them into bankruptcy.

    1. Durham apparently had something to say:
      https://www.foxnews.com/politics/barr-blasts-fbi-over-intrusive-probe-of-trump-campaign-in-wake-of-fisa-report

Not a legal scholar, wish I had been a fly on the wall. Anyone with a speck of intelligence could see the whole thing is BS. Just look what is happening now with the “impeachment” hearings.

Why would Russia collude with Trump? He wanted to increase US military spending. How does that benefit Russia? He wanted to increase US energy production. How does that help Russia? He gave Javelin missiles to Ukraine that could kill Russian soldiers. How does that help Russia? Obama gave Ukraine blankets.

The only thing I can see Trump doing to help Russia is that Trump actually wants NATO freeloaders to step up and start to pay their share. (Canada being one of the worst but what do you expect from a welfare state) Or the fact that Trump doesn’t want American kids to die in needless, stupid foreign interventions.

Or would Russia want to support and help a known supplicant who, when handed a brown paper bag full of cash to her “foundation” would be more than willing to help no matter what the cost to her own country. Unfortunately, I see a few more suicides from Clintonitis in the future

      1. You forgot the part about MAGA TRUMP supplying Ukraine WITH Missiles, the Javelins, to defend itself from those nasty Ruskies.

Of course, these are the same weapons that Orange Man Bad didn’t give away immediately to the Uke’s, and that’s why he’s being impeached(?????????????).

Remind me again how many weapons Obongo gave to the Ukes, no strings attached, after the Ruskies invaded Crimea……….oh yeah, Bongo didn’t trust the Ukrainians, cuz the 80s wanted their Russians back.

No abuse of power there, no sirree BOB!

  2. Dems are hanging their hats on Horowitz’ statement there was no documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the FBI’s decision.” Good luck with that, considering this was not a criminal investigation, with prosecutors disagreeing, having investigated beyond DOJ conduct. Plus Horowitz documented sweeping omissions that certainly prejudiced courts and others from making proper determinations and granting of surveillance. Imho, these omissions were intentional and meant to serve as plausible deniability so their non-evidence could slip through the FISC cracks.

Barr and Durham’s investigations have much more scope and apparently have uncovered evidence or suspicion of criminal actions by some high level Obama officials, even members of his Cabinet. So we shall see, but the IG report at best is a precursor to more sweeping investigations, evidence, conclusions and culpability.

As of now all the Dems can claim is that many in their bunch are incompetent and likely liars who concocted evidence while covering their tracks. The IG didn’t have the scope, purview or powers to get to the bottom of this. Durham does.

  3. Graham is going to make a lot of noise and do absolutely nothing. This is nothing more than an opportunity to distract from the Ukraine issue. Why? Because, good ole Lindsay was cashing in just like Joe Biden. There was never any doubt that the IG report would be nothing more than a curtain written in such away to provide a mulligan to the entire DOJ, FBI and Judicial system as it relates to a Class 1 FISA application. What was the point you ask? Simple…now any indictments or criminal investigations pursued by Barr will be labeled as pure political “lynching.”

This whole thing was over long ago, when the current administration failed to find themselves a sacrificial cow to hang high from the castle gates as a warning to future actions and an encouragement to cooperate. Move along…and carry on. I’ve been pointing this out for over a year now…

    1. I agree, Graham, who has definitely handed out some whoop ass, is all talk and no action on Senate action against Dems.
But can we say the same about Barr and Durham? They’ve been clear they suspect criminal actions around FISC abuse.

  4. Nice weasel-worded phrase:

“… no documentary or testimonial evidence…”

In other words, nobody put down in the official reports that they had violated any statutes or regulations.
    And nobody finked.

    Big whoop.

Time for Durham and Barr to step in.

  5. I am not surprised, but Roberts (SCOTUS) appointed the FISA Court Judge & Page/ Peter met him@ a cocktail party and set the whole insurance policy in motion… The FISA Court was Corrupt…Simple shit

This will not End well…..The Country will not except this BS nonsense & Guns will come to bear.. The lying lawyers need to be eliminated… A Democrat in a body bag will be the pay back..

BTW: Why would the Ukrainians investigating Biden & Clintons be an Election advantage to Trump unless they are guilty as hell.. If they were innocence it would hurt Trump,,

    JMHO

  6. Republicans need to act quickly if there are indictments coming.

It’s already been drawn out too long and at this rate Trump will be impeached before Durham and Barr make their next move.

    1. The Demarxists will impeach, there is no real legality stopping them. They could impeach Trump for eating Cheezies, jaywalking, or Tweeting incessantly…….although as Dershowitz said last night, it sure looks like a Abuse of Power by Schiffty and the House, and there could be fallout from that yet to come.
Impeach means nothing, because it will die in the Senate. The Demarxists know that, they are just making a big show of it right now. They are also fearfull that they will be exposed and under oath in the Senate, there’s no doubt they are VERY concerned about being under oath and not controlling the affair. Their strategy was to change hearts and minds, which it has, but in a boomerang effect as TRUMP’s numbers grow positively.
Leaks already coming out, how the against vote, looks like it will be bi-partisan.
Leaks that the Demarxists might censure TRUMP instead.
Look at Nancy’s drunken meltdown, finger wagging scolding last week, a pathetic response “As a good Catholic”………..

The wheels are coming off the Demarxist bus, they are losing support. These people are stupid as hell. It could be why, they are making so much noise about this right now, as they know they are toast in the Senate.

      1. Yes, impeachment will die in the Senate, but if the GOP is as smart as Trump, by a thousand cuts on the discredited ones.

        1. They need to get it to the Senate, then.

The entire Dem strategy has been to remove Trump and/or failing that, keep him under a cloud of uncertainty.

DeMedia will drag out right through November if given the chance.

Honestly I was a little surprised the Mueller Report was allowed to go on as long as it did but it served its purpose through the mid-terms.

  7. When you lie to the FBI you go to jail if you’re Roger Stone. When the FBI lies to a court they get a strongly worded report.

    1. “you go to jail if you’re Roger Stone.”

And whatever lie Roger Stone told would have been 100% irrelevant to any investigation on any grounds even if the investigation itself had not been totally bogus. Stone was convicted about lying about his contacts with wikileaks. He said he never had any direct contact and there is no proof he did – BUT. He had led people to believe he had contacts and said his attempted contact was through Randy Credico who likely never had direct contact himself and denied everything. The system believed everyone but Stone. I wonder if it had anything to do with being a friend of Trump? He wasn’t even a formal part of Trump’s campaign.

  8. Gaetz gets funniest political quote in some time with his take on DNC lawyers and staffers testifying instead of politicians:

This is a Congressional Hearing involving Representatives who must answer questions, it’s not “Take your donor to work day.”

One of the “witnesses” has given over $100K to Dem party. Then again he works for DNC so his bias is already obvious.

  9. The US would have a far less corrupt justice system if they contracted it out to Mexico. At least the Mexicans can simply be bought for cash while the US “Justice system” is just another partisan mutation of the institutional left.

  10. Is this Schiff’s finally successful jump the shark moment, after several attempts, as WSJ backs John Solomon, hated by the left?

“Mr. Schiff published call records between Mr. Giuliani and me and suggested they involved my Ukraine stories. Many contacts I had with Mr. Giuliani involved interviews on the Mueller report and its aftermath or efforts to invite the president’s lawyer on the Hill’s TV show, which I supervised.”

Mr. Schiff’s team has tried to minimize the conduct because he never subpoenaed my phone records directly but extracted them from others’ call records. That defense is laughable. Once a journalist and his calls are made public through the powers of the surveillance state, there is an instant chilling effect on press freedom.”

Mr. Schiff appears to assume that Congress enjoys unlimited investigative powers under the Constitution’s Speech or Debate clause. He does not. I recommend the chairman examine the record in McSurely v. McClellan, a two-decade legal battle that began in 1967 and pitted a powerful committee chairman against a liberal activist couple in Kentucky. It is widely regarded—along with the McCarthy hearings of the 1950s—as one of most egregious episodes of misconduct in the modern history of congressional oversight.”

  11. The GOP should announce that they are drawing up Articles of Impeachment for the next Democrat President, for abuse of power ond obstruction of Congress.

Because according to the Democrats, the President now serves under Congress…

  12. It’s like AOC was the IG.

    “Some people did some mistakes.”

The report claims it found NO partisan influence in the FISA apps. What bullshit. I guess Horowitz is the only person on the face of the earth unaware of the Strzok/Page emails. I am so pissed off, and I’m not even an American!

This report was seemingly written with ABSOLUTELY NO COMPREHENSION of how the leftist media/Dem cabal will cherry-pick and distort it’s points. Right now, the Democrats are using their usual spin cycle to claim this report vindicates them completely.

Also, where are the FISA judges? Either they are complicit in this conspiracy or they should be hopping mad they were victims, too. Seems to me the talking heads on both sides of this freak show are ignoring this vital question. Collusion by the FISA court would certainly explain the unwavering willingness of the FBI to play fast and loose with the law.

  13. Horowitz is either stupid, or deliberately misleading justice…..Why would the DOJ & FBI insist on spying on the Trump campaign using a flawed FISA warrant (Steele & Page) unless they had a coordinated Command structure that was politically biased…..The WH Jan 3, 2017 meeting (Memo by Susan Rice) clearly showed Political intent….The individual FBI & DOJ members may not have been biased (just following Orders) but the whole operation was biased & it was an organized Operation… The Unmasking & MSM leaks were politically driven….

    JMHO

  14. Horowitz has no choice.
His statement is truth;“… no documentary or testimonial evidence…”.
We seem to forget how narrow and limited the Inspector Generals job is.
    Remember the “Sponsorship inquiry”??
    Same BS.
This is a placeholder position, part of the theatre by which the bureaus avoid any scrutiny at all.
For Gods sake, a full time Grey, tasked with protecting the institution.
    Government investigating itself?
Has never worked in my life time.
So this report is actually quite amazingly damning, written in bureau speak so many people may miss the fine details.
Horowitz is forbidden to interrogate x civil servants, can not follow clues that pass out of the bureau then return through another minion..
So when he says “… no documentary or testimonial evidence…”.
This all he is allowed to say, he then goes on to list serious abuses that were explained to him,by the culprits, as “errors in judgement and simple mistakes”.
He has to take their word for it,unless they recant or left official documents showing they lie.
Horowitz shows no sign of failing to know his place,he quite blatantly damns the bureaucrats involved with “faint praise”.
Those who glom onto this report as “exoneration” are being set up for a nasty fall.
I am hoping they are issued a nice piece of hemp rope,to break their fall,of course.
