Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“Advocates close to Trudeau are pushing for a transformational social and economic agenda and see Morneau has an obstacle.”
Hey Willy Porno, that bus isn’t stopping, it’s rolling over you.
Morneau will be able to spend more time at his Villa in France, the one he forgot he had.
And run for the oecd or is Coyne being sarcastic?
https://twitter.com/acoyne/status/1295506864847847425?s=20
More chances for travel, gifts, and family jobs with the OECD?
He’ll be back, even if it’s to put a political dagger between Prinz Dummkopf’s shoulder blades. The main picture says it all. The SS Liberal Party of Canada isn’t a happy ship.
Was it ever? Buncha entitled, primadonnas and law school failures.
You are about to be thrown a bone, and all you do is gobble collectively, whereas you should be demanding an investigation into both the handler and the puppet.
this is cover for the Thief in Chief, of course..
Trudeau last Tuesday expressed his full confidence in Morneau.
Morneau’s finished. That type of statement is a death knell. It’s just a matter of when, because he’s going to be the fall guy.
“The big question is how ambitious Canada can afford to be. Advocates close to Trudeau are pushing for a transformational social and economic agenda and see Morneau has an obstacle. Too “orthodox,” is how one official close to the prime minister describes him.”
My translation: Who cares if in the process of changing Canada forever because we have the chance we’re not worried about bankrupting it. The Finance Department people are paper-pushing worrywarts.
(And that doesn’t include the moral bankruptcy that will inevitably come from this agenda.)
I would suspect the reason it hasn’t happened is that Morneau is putting the screws to the PMO saying “ the PM is just as guilty as me on this WE thing, why am I the one being pushed off the train?”
This could get dirty like Chretien Martin dirty.
Chretien and Martin fought because they knew how politics work and what was at stake. Morneau didn’t even know he was in a fight until Thursday of last week. Clueless dilettante. OECD is not going to want anything to do with someone who couldn’t stand up to a lightweight like Justin.
That vote of confidence is ALWAYS a death sentence, to anyone that gets it. SO predictable!
I think this is just drama for public consumption. I did hear via the Ottawa grapevine that the old guard is not happy with Trudeau (no surprise), but sldo thst they don’t like Freeland either, which I found interesting.
I’m not surprised at the dislike for Freeland. She didn’t do any of the party grunt work, so to speak, to get where she is now. She was handed a nomination, given positions in the Trudeau government way beyond her abilities and qualifications, and pretty much from Day One it was obvious she was Trudeau’s hand-picked heir apparent. Veteran Liberal MPs parked in the backbench have to sit back and watch her stratospheric rise. And more than likely it will be expected that there will be a glide path to her becoming the next Liberal leader. No need for a contested nomination, just a coronation.
The negotiations to replace NAFTA likely didn’t help either. They showed she was way out of her depth, and they took place on the international stage. But afterward she got promoted upward anyway.
“Veteran Liberal MPs parked in the backbench have to sit back and watch her stratospheric rise. And more than likely it will be expected that there will be a glide path to her becoming the next Liberal leader. ”
And they’d sit there like the cowardly ovine nothings that they are and applaud her coronation.
I think it is a cover.
I doubt that Morneau will be turfed BUT if he were, then it wouldn’t be because of the WE scandal that never happened.
(wink-wink)
What the hell. turdo la doo, morno and the whole rotten collection could disappear from the face of the earth tomorrow and Canadians would replace them with new scum in a heart beat.
And as far as these two sewer rats go, the best we can hope for is that they go after each other’s tiny nuts.
Watch out for the progressive weasel Carney. This is all about setting stage for him.
The whole “act” since before the last election, is just role playing by every arse warming a seat in the HoC. Burn it down, preferably with the occupants warming their seats.
As green progressive as Carney is he is still a banker at heart.
There has been so much economic damage done in the past 6 months (five years) I can’t see him being less moderate than Morneau.
I believe that Carney is clever enough to realize that that the bay street old money must be tired of the current economic melt and need stability before the coming economic roller coaster really starts rolling.
However, Trudeau may well name a hard core woke (2+2=whatever you want it to be you racist), economist from the East Van upstairs rainbow justice school of business redefinition, eco reparations, and safe injection site.
Ward – Well said.
And, if Morneau does resign his seat, expect a byelection with Carney being parachuted into the riding.
I used to think this. Like last week. But now I think to myself: Why the hell would Carney want to hitch himself to a sinking, steaming Trudeau mess? Would ANYBODY want to be Trudeau’s Finance Minister? Or would they rather be his replacement as Liberal Party leader? I think Carney is going to take a pass, for now.
What happened the last time a liberal government was mired in a major scandal and the finance minister was used as a sacrificial lamb to make it go away?
For your speculation I offer this hypothetical meeting between two folks, purely for comic relief.
Telford:”look Bill, it’s not personal it’s just that we need you to step aside and we need you to be a team player about this.”
Morneau:” is this about WE?”
Telford:”well it has been a nuisance and some of the caucus is getting nervous reading some of the polling, what we really need is a distraction. Just say that you and the Prime Minister are not seeing eye to eye on the budget or something and we can cite differences as the reason . I’ve even got a word in with Gerald we have a corporate friendly that has an opportunity all set to go, how about it. For the team Bill. You know how he is? He really wants this.”
Good post by C, agree with every point. Gotta remember that all this is a Liberal vs Liberal dogfight. And, IMO Justin is tired of the job and wants out.
Oh please…Kabuki theater. All of it. I know the NP have papers to sell but even this drama is embarrassing.
This latest B.S. would be like Sach putting a contract out on Slip Mahoney because he wasn’t happy with how things were being run in the gang.
You think sh*t for brains and Canada’s de facto leader Gerald Butts are going to go out of their way to shiv Morneau and make him look like the bad guy? Bill Morneau? Married to Nancy McCain of McCain frozen food empire and huge New Brunswick Liberal Party
donorssupporters. That Bill Morneau??You’re not paying attention. Besides, Morneau I’m sure knows where all the WE bodies are buried so you can bet they’ll all be treading lightly.
An honorable and graceful exit I’m sure, whereupon he’ll retire to his French villa to write a book no one will buy.
Exactly, you can guarantee a backroom conversation might have went something like “Bill, if you do us a solid and just resign you’ll get handsomely rewarded later”.
Liberals are shit. When they fight each other, the shit flies. Hopefully its a Mr. Lahey-sized shit-o-rama.
Hear that? That’s the sounds of the whispering winds of shit.
the lead line in the article, “After spending hundreds of billions to prevent an economic disaster”
It’s garanfriggingteed that it’s brought on an economic disaster! Bankruptcies, loss of months of income, disappearing businesses, suicides and so on. Remember, the Turd took this on, so Canadians wouldn’t have too.
He thinks he’s saved the day, and can do no wrong, I sure hope the backroom gang ARE “dissatisfied” with
that frigging idiot. I know I am. Dissatisfied Doesn’t even come close!!!
Here the comes the bus and Trudeau is waiting right there to throw Morneau under it. Not to worry. I’m sure he has a nice bundle tucked away somewhere. Maybe he can retire to Africa and get a job arranging volunteer work for a year or so before he gets to come back with all forgiven and forgotten.
It’s 7:30. I have better things to do than wait for Bill to get his story straight.
Get back to me if he self-harms on the podium. Budd Dwyer was one of the very few north American politicians to ever do the decent thing by the voters.
Make note of how thick Morneau’s envelope of taking points is. Is there a 9mm stuffed in there or not.
Don’t kid yourself this is carefully orchestrated. They are in serious trouble and they know it.
This move has to work. It’s rare that a Minister of Finance is taken out.
Not so. Happens all the time. Harper and Flaherty had a huge falling out. Trudeau Sr. had career ending spats with several of his finance ministers: Lang, MacEachern, Turner. Chretien had a colossal bust-up with Martin that terminated both their careers.
cgh
The difference is, this move was forced by the public and opposition. Ministers clash with the leaders all the time.
Morneau is gone because he was forced out over the WE scandal.
cgh
Your right. I had this one wrong.
The WRONG STOOGE is resigning, but a STOOGE nonetheless is gone!
The Liberals would torch Cretch, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela, if thats what it took to save His Twitness!
Bill Morneau is starting to prepare campaigning to become the secretary general for the OCED. Geesh.
He’ll be closer to his villa in France, if he remembers where it is.
Mark Carney has entered the chat.
One down, one to go!
So the printers print debt and the Keynesians know there is no way back. They can hardly believe their good fortune.
This has a similar effect to “QE to infinity”.
“And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins….”
Print, Justin, print.
Does this please the bloc? Hopefully not, we need an election
“And from his Montreal seat as well.” s/b Toronto Centre.
Slip? Maybe you were hoping for the member from Papineau to resign.
Morneaus riding is downtown Tronna (natch) not Moan Tree All.
And it’s a very safe Lieberal seat so watch for a quick by-election call and a certain Mr Carney getting the nod.
He fell on his sword…

Willy Porno is no more no
Come on Willy Porno, fight back, flush Blackie down with you.
Trudeau must also resign.
So our Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau has gotten rid of another cabinet minister who disagrees with him. The rumours have been swirling that Morneau wouldn’t sign on to Blackie’s upcoming efforts to make major changes to Canada at a huge financial cost. Our little dictator wants to reshape the country, and he will get rid of anyone who stands in his way.
And he wants to head the OECD. Hopefully they tell him where to go.
So Trudeau indicates that Canada ( that’s us) will support Morneau’s bid for the OECD. I wonder if that means supporting with cash. I’ll bet it does, and I’ll bet they have even negotiated a figure.
With Morneau no longer an MP, how long will it take the Liberals to call a halt to the Ethics Commissioner’s investigation?
Doesn’t work that way. The investigation will be completed. His violation will be punished to the full force of the law (max. $500 fine, by the way. LOL.)
Unfortunately, Rosie will be fired soon. She uttered GG, a term deemed traitorous to Grit grifters – good government.
I doubt there’s anything that Morneau did that Trudeau didn’t agree to support.
They’re equally guilty, as are any of the Liberals currently sitting in caucus.
An election is what’s needed here.
And a referendum on staying for Alberta and Sask.
Was he ever our finance minister? I thought Launderette Barbie was the Liberal finance minister, she is in charge of washing the money via the infrastructure funds. But now all that artful graft is blown by the Wuhoo Flu, which allows the Liberals to throw money away to their cheering friends in industrial quantities with nary an excuse or a Hi-ho.
It reminds me of Obomber’s “palettes of cash”.
FFS stop with the CBC links.
We need somebody managing the till real quick.
Welcome to Venezuela……..
The photo of the ‘boys’ making the ♡ shape with their fingers is ready for the trash heap. It’s way too immature for their positions and utterly cringeworthy.
That’ll be the last of that, like photos with JWR or Jane Philpott.
Boy, does the boy ever go through people!
“Morneau claims he forgot to resign two years ago.”… The Beaverton
https://www.thebeaverton.com/2020/08/morneau-claims-he-forgot-to-resign-two-years-ago/
“The Toronto Liberal MP says that he has also realized that he is the owner of various companies, castles, and the part owner of the Wittelsbach Diamond. He can also recall that he has a family and is an elected Parliamentarian.
“I hope many people who are struggling during this pandemic understand how hard it is to own and receive so much money from so many people,” said Morneau.
Morneau says he plans on continuing to serve his country by failing upwards.
