      2. Indeed. We may feeeeel that we’ve “evolved” past such things … but mankind is tribal. We don’t actually do well in large anonymous groups. We don’t do well living with cultural clash (multi-culturalism is a myth). Here in the “oh so evolved” High Tech dominated Bay Area … I can tell you where each large group of foreigners live. The Hindus have all congregated in Fremont … the Asians each have a city on the Peninsula, sorted by country of origin. The Mexicans live in East Palo Alto and the old neighborhoods of San Jose. The gays still congregate in San Francisco. The lesbians in the Rockridge neighborhood on the Oakland-Berkeley border. And the rich have fled to the hills, suburbs, and insular pockets of neighborhoods carved out of otherwise sprawling urbanism. Atherton, Piedmont, Woodside, Palo Alto among others are highly-policed islands of rich people in the midst of the urban jungle.

      1. JWest, I said precisely that a week or so ago. If he can blow billions on the Covid thingy, and as he said, Canadians have dodged a bullet, because our beloved government is paying for it, so we don’t have to! Boy oh boy, aren’t we lucky:) It’s plainly obvious that the CRA no longer needs to collect taxes because Justin can just print what is needed. However, I don’t think the CRA have gotten the message yet. The new tax return forms should be returning tax money to us, because we are now free of any responsibility to support the country. How glorious is that, Justin is so benevolent, he’s like the rich uncle I’ve always wanted.

Think of Lori Lightfoot in Chicago, Eric Garcetti in Los Angeles, Ted Wheeler in Portland, Jim Kenney in Philadelphia, Tom Barrett in Milwaukee, London Breed in San Francisco . . . the list goes on and on, with a few exceptions, but not many.

    Don’t forget to raise taxes on small businesses. They are just tax dodges for the rich (according to your liberal buddy Justin Trudeau).

    And you can also raise taxes on all internal combustion engine vehicles in NYC. This will raise lots of money and cut down smog.

    Oh, don’t forget a sugar tax. Let’s keep New Yorkers slim in addition to being green.

And when most commerce has left your Communist hell hole … including the Stock Market … property values will plummet across the ENTIRE city … commercial AND residential. The Assessor will have to re-evaluate every tax bill in the city. And when that happens … you “take” less and less in taxes. Your entire confiscation scheme implodes and dies.

    My only advice? Harder! Faster! It might be the HEALTHIEST thing we all need right now … to see a Communist laboratory in real time, in NYC. Go for it! You have repeatedly claimed “the rich” aren’t fleeing NYC … and won’t ever flee NYC. Prove it. Nick everything they’ve got! You’ll be a working class Hero! Right?

    I’m hoping your FAILED experiment might hold off Gavin Newsom from plunging our entire State into a Communist hell hole … what with his “wealth tax” and all.

  16. Article in the Toronto Sun today on the quickly increasing crime in one of the most vibrant areas of the city, Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant. Restaurants are being robbed, people hassled, drug dens opening, the Roehampton Hotel is a homeless shelter with all the crap you can think of happening there. I lived in the area since 1974, born on Davisville and settled in Leaside. Just a fabulous area with great schools, stores and restaurants.

    Many have now gone out of business due to high rents and the pandemic. Truly sad to see as John Tory uses this neighbourhood for his social destruction. So glad I left a couple of years ago.

    Either the attitude that the US are allowed to do whatever with whomever should be dropped, or they should stop allowing immigrants to come to the US from the countries that it butchered and raped.
    You cannot have everything both ways 100% of the time. You really cannot. Either you, as a country, behave, or you should not be surprised why the foreigners sabotage you.

    You allow someone of German-Italian heritage to be a mayor of your major city. What could possibly go wrong?
