Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Hmmm…interesting. I have several of these in my shop. Will take a careful look at them later today.
Is this how one receives CSA certification?

Seems about right.
Ties in rather beautifully with what johnboy posted in “readers Tips” this morning.
Amazing how the “helpers” assume they are the experts, judge jury and executioners.
Can Ahh Duh has a Just Us System perfectly reflecting our glorious Laurentian Kleptocracy.
Totally corrupt but “done by the rules”.
Eskimo – I think you may be right!
These “safety” glasses wouldn’t be made in China, would they? And perhaps certified there as well? Maybe?
I used to have to wear them a decade or so back. I didn’t worry about the UV at the time.
I have noticed over the decades how quality in products coming from China has fallen off the cliff terrible.
No matter what I want to get, it is not what is advertised in the product. Even when I do get the product I want and try to re-order, it has been switched for a poorer quality.
Try not to ever order now as almost all are not as advertised.
This is what we get relying on other countries to keep up quality when they cheapen out to poorer quality.
I once worked for a retailer who imported most of their goods, including private label stuff, feom China and a 15% defect rate was the norm. AND perfectly acceptable. I often said that our motto should have been, “We sell cheap shit to stupid people”
Can I get the rose coloured ones that the Liberals all wear?
Noticed how many PPE failed quality tests and yet they fail to check other products that we get from China.
A little late in the day to worry about it now I guess after using them for over 30 years.

How did our ancestors not go blind from the UV rays before these polycarbonate lenses? Hmm, maybe the whole thing is a scam?
Perhaps they didn’t use arc welding? Lots of reasons to need UV protection. Clear poly carbonate will protect your from the UV of a arc flash from a welder (not the brightness) so wearing real PC glasses while working or walking in areas where work gets done can save your eyes.
Who says they didn’t? ‘They’ didn’t live long either…

I would iove to volunteer but I can’t seem to find my “coke bottles” right now.

Of the 5 pairs that I have sitting on my desk, all of them blocked the light from the UV flashlight I have.
what didn’t block the UV light is the UV filter I have for my camera.
Lexan is a polycarbonate product. Back in 1969 when Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were on the moon, their face shields were allegedly made of Lexan. A year later, my Dad bought a ” Berec unbreakable flashlight” (Made in England) that was coated with rubber and had a Lexan lens cover. It was advertised as The identical flashlight that was used by NASA on the lunar surface.”
It was virtually indestructible.

It was virtually indestructible. We had it for decades in the glove box of our tow truck.
