  14. Lost three hours sleep last night, worrying about the disaster that unfolded yesterday. People can flame me if they want, since I am in the minority at SDA, but here are a few thoughts:

    — I disagree with the majority of SDA posters who dwell on violence (fantasy violence) as the way to correct the dire situation we are in. I also disagree with the majority of SDAers saying “all is lost” and “there is nothing we can do”. This type of thinking is quivering, cowardly whining that does no good;

    — I support constructive ideas about what populist conservatives must do moving forward. The elite enemy is exploiting what happened last night, gleefully announcing the end of populism. Last night probably ended any possible Trump run in 2024. But the populist right should carefully organize to win congressional seats in 2022, and the White House in 2024;

    — since the Republicans lost everything now, they should, using the military analogy, begin a (political) guerrilla war. This would include beefing up the conservative media and building research savvy to investigate the forthcoming Harris-Biden corruption in the Harris-Biden government. Note that last night’s violence will trigger a leftist repression against conservatives, over what is going on now;

    — in Canada, conservatives should work to support the Wexit movement, the PPC CPC and grassroots conservative groups and media;

    — Trump brought to the Republican party support for lower-income Americans and grassroots organizing, rallies and street demonstrations. Since street demonstrations are meant for people out of power, more conservatives should undertake more and bigger demos.

    These are my thoughts. One 80-year-old lady making phone calls for Wexit is worth more then 20 men blogging about antasy violence, under the safety of assumed names.

    3. Here’s the problem with your scenario. The establishment Republicans are very, very good at what they do, which is subverting and destroying uprisings against their rule. They wiped out the Tea Party. They fully planned to nominate Jeb Bush in 2016; the chess board was perfectly aligned to do so. It took Trump’s unexpected entry into the race to disrupt that plan. Only Trump, with his fortune, his fame, his personality, was strong enough to do that. Even after Trump won, the establishment ensured his presidency was hobbled and hamstrung at every turn; they abandoned the House to the Democrats in the midterms and then effectively threw away the Senate this year.

      The Republican party is NOT friendly to conservatives. They have not been so for a very long time. They make that crystal clear in every action they take.

      The Republicans will NOT permit a candidate such as Trump to ever run again. Populists in the 22 midterms? A populist POTUS nominee in 24? No, no, no. They will stack the deck even heavier for their next “chosen one” in 24 (suspected to be Nikki Haley) who will be 100% bought and paid for by their multinational donor class.

      The only path forward for conservatives and populists is to start a new party and begin the necessary process of burning the Republican party to the ground (at least at the federal level, though many state level parties aren’t worth a damn either).

      You are correct that the only path forward for conservatives in Canada is PPC & Wexit, though I suspect those movements sorely lack and will likely never reach the critical mass they will need to ever achieve anything. Canada’s political power structures are too skewed, by design, to favour ON & PQ, which in turn favours Liberal hegemony with only brief interruptions by a Conservative party when Liberal corruption becomes too foul to ignore.

      It is.. quite sobering, to realize you, as a political conservative, are in a minority situation in the western world and that you are unlikely to EVER see that change.

      Democracy, free and fair elections ushering in “Government by the people and for the people”, has been stolen. It is now gone and there is no evidence whatsoever that what took place in 2020 to facilitate that theft will ever be reversed. It can only get worse.

      More than a year ago Trump tweeted “In reality they’re not after me. They’re after you, I’m just in the way.” No truer words have been spoken. America is no longer in the hands of “We the People …”. Democracy has been lost, the People have have been disenfranchised. What was sacred is now profane. This is just the beginning. What is to come? The US Constitution, the Amendments, all of them, are next. One by one they will fall.

      If you really believe that “constructive ideas about what populist conservatives must do moving forward” is the best answer to what is confronting America then you are at best naive and at the worst deluding yourself. Eighty year old ladies making phone calls to wake a nation up is not a plan. It is an inscription on a tombstone.

      Violence cannot and must not be the response under any circumstance. Even in the face incitement, sanctions, incarceration and systematic state-sanctioned edicts crafted to demoralize the opposition, violence must not be given any quarter.

      What must come next is the realization by some eighty million Americans that they are in a real war for the very soul of their country. This is a war that will require a resolve like America has not seen in more than a generation, a war where corruption and lawlessness must be vanquished, a war where justice and truth must in the end prevail.

      The standard that must be raised is the restoration of real democracy and the inalienable rights and freedoms of “We the People …”, the rights that are enshrined in the US Constitution. Nothing can or should dissuade people from achieving this end.

It is a dismal assessment of what has transpired in the election, and for now it looks like the corrupt globalists have won, but Americans must wake up and take back their country.         David, I totally identify with the “losing sleep” issue, and wanting to do something to correct the situation. Expecting democracy to work as normal, however, is not the answer. Far more aggressive tactics are needed.

Just want to say that perhaps a third-party in the U.S. is the way to go, if the old-style country-club Republicans refuse to accept the Trump populists into the party. Clearly the U.S. is in a crisis of confidence, as to corruption of the elections, the deep state, the ruling elites. It reminds one about the issue of slavery, where the upstart Republican party formed up to combat it, and the Whig party disappeared. Today the confidence issue is so great, perhaps if the Republicans shut out the populist right, then a new party has to be born, attracting populist Republicans and independents. Today’s malaise is equal to that of slavery.

        One article mentioned that the two losing Republican senators were old-styled Republicans — rich and well-connected to power elites. Both had fewer lower-income, non-white voting support than did Trump. Clearly returning to country-club Republicanism would be a disaster. A third party would be necessary, in order to thwart one-party rule.

  17. For years, I read news and commentary off a certain website. Earlier this week, one major contributor, like many, repeated the bull cookies that “there was no evidence of fraud in the election”. That website is now off my list.

    1. There are a lot of sites showing their true colors now, condemning the violence while admitting that the election sure was hinky. So the election was hinky, what are we going to do about it? Whine, apparently. They insist we need an honest accounting of the election, but asking politely is the only way to get one – despite the polite asking getting us nowhere. Violence is never the answer. So I guess we should condemn George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and FDR, all of whom thought in certain circumstances violence is indeed the answer, that there comes a point where you have nothing left to lose. Have we reached that point? I don’t know, but saying violence is off the table, that there’s nothing worth dying for or killing for is not an acceptable answer for a free human being.

    It’s hard to see what choice the president had. The Capitol Police, the murderers of Ashli Babbit, and the Maryland and Virginia National Guards made clear that they were not above a Tiananmen-style bloodbath if that’s what crowning Sistah Kamala Queen of America took. With the army and police acting on the orders of Mike Pence, moreover, the president was no longer in effective control of the situation.

  26. I agree, up to a point, with David Murrell – but he focuses the future within the GOP – and I reject that. As I.M. comments, the GOP is not for the People.
    Both political tribes are The Elites; they have moved into control of the federal Washington government over the past generation – and can’t be considered as each different from the other. Functionally they are identical: both are elite tribes focused on the power of their own members and networked connections in Washington.     The question is: What to do in this internal civil war; a fight between The People and the Washington Elite? My suggestion is two things. Twitter is not enough. Some new media have to be developed, both TV, radio, newspapers – to voice the Popular Will.
    Protests won’t do it – since the Elites will try to repress protests, even if peaceful, by defining them as ‘riots’. The tactic has to be Freedom of Speech in mass media – and The People have to develop these media.

    As for Canada, since the Charter, with its bilingualism [imagine a nation where, in order to be a member of government, you have to learn a new language] – and its electoral map that privileges the big bureaucratic cities – renders true democratic change impossible…the only hope is Wexit. And the sooner the better.

  31. I disagree with the doomsday scenarios – ie, that democracy is over; that the Elites have won; that China will become dominant – and so on.

    I don’t think we can underestimate the power of the Elites. We’ve seen it in how they overthrew an election, and rigged it to retake control in Washington. We’ve seen it in the four years of massive propaganda attacks against a Populist governance [as run by Trump – who rightly says that he’s merely the ‘front man’ for The People]. They hav a lot of money; a lot of networking contacts – and they aren’t about to give that up – just because The People have a different agenda!

    But- my view is based on a concept of population dynamics, economic viability and ‘la longue duree’…a view of history over long terms, not just months or even a few years. My view is that a two-class infrastructure, made up of an Elite set of Rulers [whether ‘elected’ or not is irrelevant] and ‘the people’ is economically and socially untenable in a situation where the population increases. If you have population increase – then, the system MUST have a free middle class, ie, capitalism, where production is in private hands, in small businesses [not large corporations, not franchises of large corporations] – but small private entrepreneurships. There is no economic choice for this – a growth population requires a growth economic mode – and there is only ONE type of that: small business private enterprise.

    Producing cheap goods from China won’t fill the needs of a growth population – it will do so only for a decade and then – it too collapses – especially if the tax basis of the nation [eg, in USA, in Canada] starts to collapse, and where the bureaucracy exceeds GDP capacity.

    My point is that – this is only the beginning of the War between the Elites and The People. It’s happened before – and …the People always win. Because – they must . When the population increases – beyond the carrying capacity of a two-class system – you must enable a free middle class. The People must win. Not ideologically ‘must’ win. But economically ‘must win’ -.

        1. Some employers use that tactic to get even with employees that they didn’t like. The bosses try to get rid of someone simply because they don’t like that person, but that individual not only stays on but pushes back.

          Then, finally, the employee in question leaves of their own accord, dictating the terms of their departure, something the bosses didn’t like. That person then has a hard time finding another job because those bosses make sure that his or her reputation becomes permanently tarnished, thereby making them unemployable.

          It’s simply a personal vendetta and there’s not a whole lot that anyone on the receiving end can do about it. Trying to prove slander or defamation is quite difficult, so one is better off doing something else.

          I know about that sort of thing because it happened to me.

In a small rural community near me, a black woman has set up her own women’s shelter for blacks and Indians, because the local shelter serves white people’s food and doesn’t supply proper hair supplies for black women.
