  4. Despite how the Army tried to soft soap the whole affair with NDAs that thousands of soldiers were forced to sign, the truth eventually came out. Berghdahl straight up left his post and crossed over to the other side in an indisputable act of desertion instead of the Army’s boilerplate “wandered off… got lost and was captured” line of bullshit.

  13. Did Canada get all their people out? How about the UK? I am wondering if the allies even know how many foreign nationals were left behind: nurses, teachers, charity workers, techs, engineers……. I am guessing most did not have advance notice.
