  1. Breakenridge is a pompous ass. He loves the sound of his own voice and usually doesn’t have a clue what the hell he is yammering about.

  2. The legacy media is still an integral part of the institutional left. They have been and will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of Rachel Notley. The urban left is strong in Alberta. Look at Calgary’s Mayor. What progressive rat hole did they drag her out of to be anointed?

    1. John

I don’t know bout you, but I’d never heard of that Commie Soros financed BEOTCH ever…

  3. Amnesty?? Just pass and one sentence amendment saying that all prosecutions and penalties under the legislation are void and all fines are to be refunded. That is certainly within the purview of the legislature, A cabinet minister phoning a prosecutor to fix a ticket is not.

    1. It’s entirely possible that some or all of those 37 would have even without the genetically modified strains, given that a non-zero portion of the population is susceptible to cannabis induced psychotic breaks

  4. Yeah …
And the media masturbators on the Calgary talk station are on it.
Of course they got the ‘experts’ to support the dis-misinformation.
Like the professors know what is happening in the world outside of their office.

    1. And the most hilarious thing is that the Calgary Herald relies mostly on “experts” from the fifth rate Mount Royal “University”. Constantly.

      1. Mount Royal?? Back in the day students at the U of Calgary or the U of Alberta considered Mount Royal U and McEwan U students to be knuckle dragging morons. Now Mount Royal has 10,000 students and McEwan has 20,000 students. 50 years ago, at the U of Alberta, many of my profs wrote definitive textbooks in their field which I had to buy. At McEwan and Mount Royal, the only paper touched by their profs was flushed down the toilet. Note – this is an opinion which I do not purport to be a fact as I really don’t know the rigor or value of individual worthless schools which I never attended.

        1. Mount Royal U is still considered to be knuckle dragging morons. The laughing that was going on at U of C when Mount Royal was designated as a “university” was heard all over the city. All you have to do is look at their courses, etc., to see it is laughable.

          1. Back in the day when it was MRC, it did have some respected programs, particularly in the arts; music is one I recall. Also, word was that – since the instructors weren’t consumed with doing “research” – a lot of courses were better taught than the comparable ones at U of C.
Actually, I think the government made a mistake when it elevated MRC and Grant McEwan to university status. They should have been left as colleges and acknowledged as being very competent in their own sphere. At the same time, NAIT and SAIT should have been granted greater status as the practical institutes they were and are, and their contributions more acknowledged.
BTW, I’m a U of C grad, and not an overly loyal one.

          2. In the dim distant days when I was in the insurance industry, MRC had a program in insurance claims handling, and graduates were snapped up by every competently-run insurance company in Canada (ie. by no means all of them, but enough to motivate you). So they have done some things well. And I like the campus. But no, it ain’t Oxford.

  5. I heard that the Premier doesn’t have the power to declare an amnesty.
She’s not a queen after all, [nor a President]. There would have to be a law.
Will she also announce, like some truckers, that she will stand up for 2nd amendment rights?

  6. This is all a smokescreen, imo. The great fear is that Danielle Smith will do two things.

    1. Release covid information that will have a ripple effect of putting pressure on other premiers and the federal government. Secretive contracts, hidden data, identify consultants and advisors, collusion with the media, amounts paid for sole source bids, etc. Lots of dirty dealings, I suspect.

    2. That she will follow through in increasing Alberta’s autonomy by ignoring edicts from Ottawa. Once again, the ripple effect is that other provinces will follow suit once they realize how powerless the federal government really is. Quebec has known this for ages. It will get pretty difficult to impose globalist agendas if the provincial governments refuse to comply, given the constitutional division of powers heavily tilts towards provincial control.

    1. I think you are totally on to something. 2 good points for sure. I would LOVE to see some real data that we suspect they have been hiding. They know she is dangerous and will throw the kitchen sink at her.

    2. They likely deleted and shredded a lot of stuff to your #1 point. We won’t learn anymore, my guess.

  7. There may good reason for listening to 770 AM but Breakenridge sue as hell ain’t one of them…

      1. Art

Yep. Once David Rutherford left..BAMN, MASSIVE switch FAR LEFT.

HAVE NOT turned my dial to that AM cesspool since

    1. CHQR is a bunch of milquetoast broadcasters. All of Corus radio is the same. Their stable of talk show hosts all have exactly the same opinions on every topic. The guy that replaced DS signs off every morning with “peace and love”. What’s that supposed to mean? They all sound like they are auditioning for The View.

  8. L – If she unleashes, promises legal protection for, dissident doctors/medical researchers
who speak out publicly(Charter Right) on the lack of evidence to support Lockdowns/Vaxx Mandates and the harms they did and are doing.

Immediately, it becomes public debate/knowledge that prosecution for violations of Public Health Measures is not and was not, in the Public Interest. That is one of the two justifications for Crown Prosecutors pursuing a case in court. Lacking that brings the administration of
    Justice into disrepute.

Secondly, the medical evidence presented by the dissident doctors/medical researchers
proves the Public Health Orders violated the Charter, Prima Facie. Then the other
    justification for prosecution evaporates.

From there introducing legislation for a amnesty/pardon, and a refunding of fines and
court costs formalizes the process. Following that a reform of the entire medicare system
under bureaucratic capture/corruption/ can be exposed and… disinfected!

Other provinces will follow slowly then at an increasing rate. The civil and political liability
that looming has every provincial government and bureaucracy with nightmares. Living
in denial… planning their early retirement to a jurisdiction which has no extradition Treaty
    with Canada.

To be continued, with as many twists and turns as any murder mystery novel.

  9. There once was a number of conservative-minded commentators on the Corus Network, but since they fired them all, including Danielle Smith (Calgary) and Mike Campbell (Vancouver) I have no use for them. Breakenridge is a joke. Curiously, Roy Green is still on the air, but if there’s a particularly controversial issue currently happening, he seems to be mysteriously replaced by another. I expect, like his predecessors, he’ll be entering “retirement ” soon. Their TV news/commentary (Global) is no better.

    1. I have to agree. Corus leans liberal. Not sure if the feds are funding it or not but the possibility remains. That aside the few ‘conservative’ commentators on corus give conservatism a bad name. Green loves to moan and whine but offers no original ideas. Good thing he is on during the weekend so I rarely get to listen to him.

      1. LEANS Liberal? Good God, they are full blown Liberal. Green has even turned a bit like Charles Adler. What a bag of shit.

        1. Yes, Art, I had forgotten about Adler. Once upon a time, one could count on him for intelligent comment but then he became just stupid. Truly a waste of space.

  10. Speaking of Premier Smith, I saw her on Youtube last night being interviewed about her cabinet etc and she said that what she long suspected, that the laws of the provinces were in part being written by the federal government, was confirmed in her briefings as premier. She then went on to say that any such ‘interference’ will now be reported to her and any attempt to interfere by Ottawa will be rebuffed. Brave words. Hopefully she will be able to withstand the bureaucracy.

      1. As I understand it print media are the only ones who got any money. I could be wrong because who knows where the money is going.

Evan Solomon recently quit CTV to take a gig in NYC with digital media company Gzero Media. Guess who recruited him? Gerry Butts.
        Think anything is going on?
