  1. Midterms update!

Dems have 50 in the senate to Republicans 49. The Dems retain control of the senate, without Georgia. They only needed 50 due to the VP tiebreaker. Alaska will be R, most websites have not attributed it to them because of ranked choice voting. Georgia will be going to a runoff in December

The house is Democrats 205 to Republicans 211. Most sites have it at 204, but California district 34 is Democrat because both candidates are D and no R candidate ran. Alaska is one to watch. Ranked choice voting again with 1 Democrat and 2 Republicans running which makes for an interesting outcome. 218 seats are needed for control of the house. The Republicans are currently leading in 10 and they only need 7, but many of those are very thin leads. The same could be said for many of the districts that the Democrats are currently leading.

It looks like Kari Lake will lose to Kate Hobbs for the governorship of Arizona. She would need 150k of the approximately 266k votes remaining just to catch up. Nevada went red.

Pretty pathetic red wave if you ask me.

    1. I’m going to bump this prediction I made late on election day as numbers started to come in:

      “Allan S
      November 8, 2022 at 11:50 pm
I’m going to call it right now, one of the closest elections in history.

      Senate Democrats with 50-51
      House Republicans with 218-219”

        1. I think the totalitarian control of the US via the media means the elections can be rigged with impunity. The polling and counting shambles in key, close states is just a coincidence, of course. And no one bats an eyelid.

      1. I wouldn’t brag, Allan. You ARE standing on the wrong side of history. Corrupt leadership will eventually fall, and trashed into the dustbin of history, where they, and you, belong.

We are witnessing 2020 all over again, as I HAVE WARNED ABOUT, but everyone was convinced of the coming red wave, and once again, I allowed myself to be optimistic and hopeful, and once again, the shoe doesn’t fit. This election, along with 2020, stinks to high heaven.

I can go through yet another litany of reasons why I think this election was stolen, but based on our last interaction, I’d be wasting my breath. You insist on keeping your head in the sand. Well, you wanted this result, but be careful what you wish for.

So put a lid on your bragging about the most fair election in history — part 2, because you will be proven wrong, eventually.

      2. There is going to be lawsuits this time. Scrutiny was at an all time high, the Dems cheated in broad daylight in full view of the scrutineers. They will be sued and lose.

          1. Where exactly has it happened? I’ve been paying attention to the races, but I don’t have the full picture.

          2. Allen S

            “Where has this happened?”

Surely you jest? Didn’t you say that sort of data dump was perfectly ok?

          3. Allan S

Philadelphia county. Care to look up the vote % for Fetterman?

Now, if it’s still visible, you may be able to find the mail-in, or if it’s still available the drop off box percentages for Fetterman.

Question: If you were collecting mail-in/drop off votes for a Democrat candidate, would you stop to collect ballots from known Republican voters?

        1. From reports I read, the remaining ballots were from election day and were overwhelmingly for Lake. The mail ins were counted first.
The first thing that will be checked is voter turnout, if it is above 90% it will be cheating.
In some counties in Philly in past years there has been 120% voter turnout.
That is the tell when they print fake ballots to keep up.
          The cheating Dems continue.
Says a lot about your character Allan S. that you support this.
Florida with over 4 times the population was done on election night.
They are cheating without a doubt and Hobbs being in charge of the election and a candidate!!!
You can’t get more conflict of interest than that.

Going forward, if a vote is not counted on election night it doesn’t count, this will nip the delays that are caused by the Dems seeing how many ballots they need to add to make it look close.

          1. Florida is faster because of their laws. They can process and count early ballots/mail in ballots before election day. They are also more strict with their deadlines.

But it still took them a few days to complete the counting. You are confusing the races being decided vs the counting being finished.

None of the states were finished counting on election night.

    2. The only red wave is the ketchup being cucked around Mar Lago.

If not for NY Asians and that state’s fairer districting, the Dems would’ve retained their house majority.

EDIT: that was supposed to be ‘chucked’ but it came out so much better than intended!

  2. Tens of Billions of US Dollars were transferred to Ukraine and then using FTX Crypto Currency the funds were laundered back to Democrats in US

Did you ever wonder where all those Billions of dollars were going in Ukraine? Did you ever wonder why anyone was trusting the elites in US politics like the Bidens with billions in funds going to Ukraine?
Gateway Pundit has information that the tens of billions of dollars going to Ukraine were actually laundered back to the US to corrupt Democrats and elites using FTX cryptocurrency. Now the money is gone and FTX is bankrupt.

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/11/breaking-exclusive-tens-billions-transferred-ukraine-using-ftx-crypto-currency-laundere myd-back-democrats-us/

      1. Really, Allan? How is it dumb? I suppose you have all the evidence you need to dismiss this claim too, right?
Your smug, arrogant, typically lie-beral slant will get you into a heap of trouble one day, Allan.

        1. The fact that it comes from TGP – which is trash beyond belief – is more than enough evidence. They grasp tightly on to any straw that fits their narrative.

      2. Allen

        Are you that completely DAFT..??

YES – Yes – yes…as the echos reverberate around your little chamber.

UTTER Blind WILLFUL Ignorance is your Forte
That, sonny boy is a FACT.
And most typical of useless idiots…..

        1. Steakman , Allan and UnMe plus a few others are paid provocaters.
They , among many more of their kind are out on social networks and media to stir up le merde.
They are here to instill pessimism, doubt, rage and division.
Better to talk to a wall .

      3. Absolutely those billions are laundered back to the Dems.
Typical Dem pitch to large donors: Donate $100 Million and you will get a an official tax break but not only that under the table we will give you back your $100M . The Dems are funding their campaigns and their personal bank accounts with stolen taxpayer money. This is why they hated Trump, they knew he would put an end to this.
I am sure RINO’s do the same thing when they hold the purse.
Remember Allan S supports this activity as he gloats about the election results.

    1. And then there’s Ellesmere Island. This is the most northerly island on the planet. Up opposite the top of Greenland.

Between 8 to 2 million years ago Ellesmere Island was approximately 20C warmer than it is today.

“There were rich forests living well above the Arctic Circle”

Just think, 1000 km above the Arctic Circle there were trees.

Trudeau, Biden, the UN, etc all say 2C warming is an existential threat to humanity and life on the planet.

Interesting that we were 20C warmer just before the ice ages started, and last I checked we are still here.

      1. joe, the biggest threat to humanity are Biden, Trudeau, the UN, the WEF and all those desiring tyranny and complete control of their fellow man. They really do want to kill us.

    2. Yes, like how did Ötzi — the murdered, high-status Ice Man — get under a mountain glacier for 5,000 years??

      1. Andy

You could ask the Canadian First Nations, whose oral history tells us, lived, hunted, fished, and picked berries (snow berries?) under 10,000 feet of ice.

    3. Joe: Re: how could it be ice free 2000 years ago when the CO2 was a lot lower.

I think they will find that it was ice-free 1,000 years ago during the medieval warming period.

Besides, I saw a docuseries that in prehistoric times there were millions of cars and trucks. They were all zero-emission vehicles because the dinosaurs hadn’t all died yet so no crude oil. The series focused on a small city called Bedrock… Cheers

      1. Stopped watching him when he promoted the shots, did he get paid to do that like everyone else who pushed the deaths shots…

  3. To continue from yesterday:

“I have yet to see proof of hundreds of dead orcs and dozens of blown up Russian equipment.”

Recent video, not sure if Khreson region but seems likely, the whole column blown to pieces:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/yt65v4/special_unit_of_ngu_omega_destroys_a_whole_convoy/
Another column, this one apparently surrendered, again recent, Khreson area but not enough detail to prove anything:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/yt7wb8/whole_0rcs_column_surrendered_after_1st_vehicle/

      1. It must be so humiliating moving all that all via ww2 methods – by hand – only to have it captured by the enemy.

    1. Ukraine did claim a few dozen destroyed armored personnel vehicles a couple days ago. What do you think thebnext move will be? They’re currently hammering the Kinburn Spit, but that may be to stop Russia from hitting Mykolaiv more than anything. Apparently they’re hitting the Chaplynka air base too.

It could be a southern thrust from Zaprozhzhia to Melitopol, but that’s almost too predictable. I think more likely is the Svatove area straight east.

Another possibility is a thrust into Russian territory as a feint. A real feint, not like Kyiv.

      1. Next step? No clue. I predicted russians will not try to capture Kiev. I predicted russians will win control of the air. I predicted that Ukrainians will not be very good at mobile warfare on large scale (no formal divisional structure and all). I predicted Khreson will either hold or be a bloodbath for both sides. Maybe I just stop predicting? I don’t think they will push into russian territory.

I have one prediction left: the moment we see the 1st armoured division (the one that at Siege of Chernihiv held against forces seven times their size and won) spearheading the attack it will be for the jugular.

EDIT: two days ago I predicted Ukrainians will not be crossing Dnieper. I’ll just stop predicting.

      2. “Zaprozhzhia to Melitopol, but that’s almost too predictable.”

Yes, but if you can tie up a lot of orcs in the south there, and then hit them in one area where they have large forces but no defenses? That’s right, Bakhmut. At the outskirts of Bakhmut russians have been grinding their teeth against determined, at times desperate, Ukrainian defenses. It is stabilized now thanks to two mechanized air assault brigades (yes, air assault mechanized, there is such a thing) that were sent to relieve the hard pressed territorial defense units. What if they hit there and push east along T0504 for Popasna and south east along M03 for Lysychansk? Thus undoing all the bloody grind russians have been engaged in since April? I should not be predicting, I know.

  4. A few days before the war started Kate or one of the mods posted a video with Ukrainian civilians training to resist the orc invasion. The video was underwhelming, it shown a rather elderly lady practicing with an airsoft gun and everyone had a laugh at the stupid Ukrainian fantasies about resisting the might of the Pootinistan. The reactions were sad and embarrassing. Well maybe this video seems more to your liking: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/yrzj3q/message_to_the_orcs/

      1. Fake news. Poroshenko fled because he knew he was finished. Go ahead and ask any Ukrainian what actually happened in their country.

The coup was in the east. It was done by the likes of Igor Girkin.

        1. You’re thinking of Yanukovych not of Poroshenko, who was legally replaced by an interim leader in 2014 (can’t recall his name). The interim leader in turn was replaced few months later by Poroshenko. In 2019 Poroshenko lost to Zelensky. Zelensky got more than 70% of the vote in the second round. I wonder who was the US president in 2019 …

          1. More importantly if “CIA puppet” logic is to be followed for just one more step. Then in 2019 “CIA puppet” lost to Zelensky who must be a Trump’s puppet.

      2. Why?
Do you know who replaced Poroshenko? Zelensky. He won a democratic election in which Poroshenko lost and Zelensky won in a landslide. Few months later Zelensky’s party won parliament, again in a landslide. All Zelensky’s deputies never held a seat in parliament before that. And thus all your theory can be safely flushed down the drain as not only false but irrelevant.
        Thank you for calling.

          1. Ukraine and Russia are a carnival side show…

  5. Inside the Soviet Army by Viktor Suvorov is an interesting book.

I first read it in the 1980s, but it offers an interesting view of the Soviet Army. It describes the deliberate tension between the Communist Party, the GRU, and the Army. It also provides a description of life for a conscript soldier.

    Still worth a read.

    1. Yes, I have read Aquarium and Icebreaker in samizdat format (still have both on my book shelves), then Day M, Liberators, Spetznaz and few others.

  6. the problem on the rite side of the political/social aisle is on perfect display in here, and it is KATE, who allows bullshit like the above to happen, the lies that the COLON, and ALLAN drag in here. She needs to learn to stop letting her blog be used for a platform for LIARS

      1. More importantly, when the Russians crapped themselves, in which direction were they running? I believe it was back toward Russia. While I retired about 6 ranks short of general, my temptation would have been to do probing attacks across the Dnieper River to see whether there was any easy ground for taking. Mind you, the Ukrainians likely outran their artillery support.

    1. I will not silence free speech. If you think Colon and Allan are lying, then challenge them. The only cure for “bad” speech, is MORE free speech, not less. Let the ideas flow, and let the good ones flourish, and the bad ones go down the drain. I will not censor anyone’s right to speak freely.

      1. FC exactly right.

I do not want this to become Twitter, where the liberal thought police ruled supreme

        1. Exactly! Scrolling quickly thru this thread!!!
I saw ‘126 comments’ and thought something interesting was going on.
          But……yawn!!!

      2. Agreed fc, let them play Ukraine frat boys until they cannot deny that Russia is kicking their ass.

    2. Free Speech…

Though my thoughts on the queen during the funereal got wiped…

      I am just a guest here…

If it wasn’t for Kate their would be no SDA site…

We should be thankful to Kate..

        1. And yet it’s still been the best investment over the past 10+ years. If you bough in 2011 or around then, you are up massively.

          1. UnMe. Not for my wife and I. We have 85% of our combined RRIF/TFSA portfolio in two High Interedt Savings Account mutual funds that pay an annual 3.8% monthly (and this interest rate is expected to go up). The other 15% are in Alberta/Saskatchewan oil and gas, nearly all of the companies paying high dividends. We can’t afford casino-styled gambling.

          2. The first investors in any Ponzi scheme always do well (if they are smart enough to get out in time.)

    1. It’s not about the information they impart. (we don’t know who to believe) But, it’s about themselves, it’s a contest about who can insult the other more, who would call the other a more rude name, just like schoolboys. They’re immature. Notice they bark late into the night after their mate has gone to bed when they’re hyped up on booze. They’re drunks Vowg, surely it’s better to read you, yourself, stating that people are stoopid all the time. Don’t mind, we’ll take stooped, cz, that’s what these people are. Rude and stoopid. If they can have their say, so can we.

      Wishing all a nice day.

    2. You’re just mad because Russia is losing. Why you support them in the first place is beyond me.

    3. That’s the spirit. Not sure why you consider not reading my posts an achievement that you need to announce to the world, but if they give you butthurt, by all means just scroll pass them. Seems several regulars have problems with this concept.

  7. It doesn’t get said often enough, thank you Kate for following the leading to found this site and enduring all us yammering fools day in and day out.

    1. China shut down Britain’s power supply?

The British government is doing that all by themselves. And a Labour government would accelerate it b

“The United Conservative Party (UCP) board has disqualified a potential candidate who had advocated for debunked COVID-19 treatments like ivermectin and compared vaccine passports to policies enacted by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime.”

Every progressive person knows there needs to be government run camps for people who think like that!

    1. Thank God. The UCP might not yet have been captured by lunatics, but they need to stop pandering to them.

    1. We would be wise to dispense with the phrase “top doctor” and say “top health bureaucrat” instead.

Canada will soon allow assisted dying for mental illness. Has there been enough time to get it right?

    1. Was in Safeway this AM with my brother. We asked a produce clerk about tomatos and green beans.

He said Safeway’s supply computers were down, so the supply center has no idea what stores are out of what.

He said every new truckload is a mystery re what’s in it, until they unload it.

      1. I haven’t been to a Safeway in more than 3 years and won’t be returning unless all the Superstores burn down.

Superstore in Calgary had nice tomato (more than 6 different types), good selection of pepper, tiny cauliflower with an apology sign in place, plenty of celery, no loose lettuces of any types, only the sign saying “$3.99” and about 5 bags of pre-cut lettuce salads. People were buying pre-cut coleslaw instead. I didn’t see broccoli either (but wasn’t looking yesterday)

There’s an independent grocery I visit on my way to Superstore each week, they had red leaf lettuce, romaine, and the same tomatoes (and price!) as Superstore has. I think grown at Big Marble Greenhouses near Medicine Hat, AB.
Almost always excellent quality produce and I think they’re always price competitive with what’s shipped in from Mexico.

The Internet Is Furious After Parents Celebrate Son’s 5th Birthday at Hooters

    This comment nails it:

“If they took him to a drag queen party event, the parents would be celebrated for their inclusivity, diversity and other assorted bułłshît. Guess Hooters is too “straight” for the tranny crowd of sexual gender fluid mentally ill deviants.”

    1. It seems Joe Biden as well as the Liberal Party of Canada are touting Chrystia Freeland to be the next Secretary General of NATO!

      No joke.

I guess they just goosestep to a different drummer.

    1. 1. Suggest Abortion and debt relief for students were bigger factors in motivating Democrat voters

      2. Republicans just don’t have a good ground game. My experience (admittedly a small sample size), and my theory is people who vote Republican (or Conservative in Canada), tend to want government to stay out of their lives, and thus don’t organize the way the left does.

      1. 1. Abortion was a big factor for everybody, and it’s only going to become more so. The GOP needs some renegades in the house and senate to help Biden codify Roe. Not sure about student debt mattering all that much. Not that they are getting it anytime soon thanks to one good judge.

        2. …maybe. Maybe not. The NY GOP made gains. The BC local center-right organized the hell out of the local elections several weeks ago. Various GOP governors and other pols were re-elected they just usually weren’t nutcases.

The puppet master behind China Joe, Obama understands Marxist strategies of gaining and maintaining power. He outmaneuvered the naïve MAGA Republicans who believed their own propaganda of a Red Tsunami….”
