  1. Correction: PG&E is charging its customers (me) EXACTLY 3x the market cost of Nat. Gas. Coincidence? Incompetence? … or … DELIBERATE? I’m going with the latter, since the “green agenda” among CA politicians, The PUC … and … PG&E demands that Californians go all-electric. Effing pricks! It’s costing a huge chunk of my monthly budget to facilitate their economic disincentive

  2. Look, you won’t need ANY kind of cooking apparatus if you’re approved by the State to a) eat and b) live… Those crickets you’ll be rationed on won’t need wasteful carbon polluting climate ruining heating…

    1. So how will I kill the parasites living in them bugs.
Guess I will need to lay in a supply of extra horse paste to do the job.

  3. ” The group behind that study, Colorado-based green energy nonprofit Rocky Mountain Institute, has partnered with the Chinese government to engineer an “economy-wide transformation” away from oil and gas, the Washington Free Beacon reported in January.”

Interesting point in the linked article.

  4. How are they measuring efficiency in gas stoves. In my gas stove 100 percent of the fuel consumed is turned into heat. Are other gas stoves different?

    1. How much of that heat is usable to do work?

I’ll assume that there is a calculation, I just can’t remember off the top of my head

  5. American colonists started a bloody revolution after a miniscule tax was levied on Tea but today the demented POTUS, based on a politically manufactured crisis can tell American sheep what they can and cannot use to cook with, eat, smoke, where to live and what they are allowed to live in, where they can travel, what kind of vehicle they are allowed to drive, and be taxed wherever they live on the planet to feed a bankrupt and corrupt leviathan that would make King George the III look like a libertarian. Soon they get a CBDC and have as much freedom as Communist Chinese non party members. I’m thinking their best hope and it’s slightly better than ours is their many millions of privately owned guns. It might make for effective leverage in divorcing the sane part of the continent from the insane.

    1. “American colonists started a bloody revolution after a miniscule tax was levied on Tea . . .”

Point of order: they revolted when the tax on a shipment of tea was waived. It was dumped into the harbor to prevent it from being sold at a price below that which colonial merchants could sell their tax paid tea.

Chief among the colonial tea merchants was some guy named John Hancock.

  6. So now 150 million chefs around the world rise up with sharp kitchen cutlery, and protest next policy idiocy of the demented White House. 🙂

    Cheers

    1. Good point, Hans. let’s see what the chefs at those 3-star restaurants serve the elites when they are dining out.

      Menu:
      Steak Tartare
      and…
That’s your choice, unless you want chicken tartare or pork tartare, but those are not recommended.

Garden Salad for the veggies. Sorry. No cooked veggies are available.

Crunchy spaghetti sticks or unbaked potato for the carb.

The good news is that ice cream is still available for dessert.

Wanna bet restaurant gas ranges and ovens are exempted?

  7. I support this because I don’t own a gas stove.. See how that works :).. Efficiency? little burners with tiny little flames :).. Nobody needs a pan bigger than 6 inches?.. Nice..

  8. Next comes “Any food which causes the human gut biome to produce gas. It will be called the F.A.R.T. tax. Foul Aroma Release Tax. You will have a sensor on your body to detect a release of gas and you will pay a fee/ tax. Food products that cause flatulence will have a 30% tax on the purchase price. Your new toilets will have a sensor to detect the amount of solid and liquid waste and you will be billed accordingly. It will be called the F.O.U.R. tax, Feces Or Urine Recapture tax.

  9. I wonder how many people realize that this is another pure example of “creeping progressivism”.

Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, and other progressive cities have already moved to ban most gas appliances in any new homes or apartments. I don’t see that fact popping up in any of these media rationalization pieces.

Once again, overreach. Not accepted by the rational public….so rammed down their individualist throats.

  10. So the elected sociopaths can arbitrarily increase demand on the grid by what, a factor of two so far and do less than nothing about doubling its capacity by “investing” in rent seeking, bird chomping, bat slicing boondoggles that are randomly operational 1 hour out of 4.

  11. In the second paragraph of the above link …
“Consumer Product Safety commissioner Richard Trumka Jr., a Biden appointee, said a gas stove ban was “on the table.” “This is a hidden hazard,” Trumka Jr. said of gas cooking. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

I do not know if Mr. Trumka Jr. is aware of the widespread use of electricity, however each year in the USA about 30,000 people are injured, and at least 400 are killed by this menace. (Wikipedia says +1000)
Should someone tell Mr. Trumka Jr of this danger?

  12. Seems like more than half the population (climate change Faithful) falling for the blonde joke about the rocket trip to the sun. “How will we keep from burning up?” We’ll fly at night.
Just where is all this cold weather coming from since the sun is always shining and the arctic can’t “make” it’s own cold?
We’re going to need a lot more gas stoves when the solar panels are covered in snow or its cloudy with rain, and the windmills can’t work if the wind is too fast or not blowing at all.
Our little town outlawed new stoves too. They don’t realize the power lines in the back alley are already maxed out WITH having gas available for heating. Then they want to add vehicle charging on top.

  13. Low flow shower heads because nobody deserves a proper shower.. Who cares that what used to take 2 minutes now takes 6.. Who cares that overall the same amount of water is being used.. Your? government has decided on just good enough if your hair is not too long..

Conserve so they can put in a new condo or subdivision without upgrading our infrastructure.. Sort your garbage so they can throw it all in a landfill.. What we like to think and what’s really happening..

We are returning this rodent infested field to its natural habitat so we don’t have to mow it anymore.. Never mind the roadkill we get a fancy little plaque and trees wrapped in crime scene police tape.. Money well spent by the people we hired to do nothing..

    1. I fixed my low flow shower heads, it was taking too long to have a shower and my wife did not like the lack of pressure. Removed the rubber gasket in them and voila, water in abundance.

  14. The one single biggest point that everyone misses with any of these issues is that heating and fuel (besides mortgage rent, cars and insurance) are the biggest bills that 99% of the population spend their money on. If the powers-that-be increase energy and transportation costs the rich don’t care… they only ruin little people. Welcome to the fourth industrial revolution.
