    Looks like she’s well on her way to selling out Alberta a second time, when on both occasions she was positioned by voters to implement a red meat agenda.

    1. Precisely. The second she proposes 2050 as an alternative to 2035, she’s accepted the basic premise & is merely negotiating the terms.

      The appropriate date is 20-f’ing never. We need to stop this shit, in its tracks, NOW.

      1. She’s making the assumption that in 2035 she might still be in power, and thus be held responsible. She doesn’t expect to be around in 2050 when it doesn’t happen either.

  3. This will never work. The time to pull this off has passed. Alberta will be flooded with Liberal-voting migrants, and a referendum will never pass. Nullification is the right play: an Alberta Police Force, and an Alberta Militia. Those are things that are easy to install, very hard for the Feds to remove, despite what the Feds claim the rules state, and set the stage for Alberta tax collection, and an Alberta pension. Just do it. Ignore the courts, because at the end of the day, these things save the Feds money (in the short term), so only an Alberta court will fight these. Add an Alberta Immigration Service, Quebec style.

    Once you have these things in place, life gets a whole lot nicer in Alberta. THEN the migrants will have something they like, that they want to keep.

    1. Exactly right. Until & unless Alberta gets serious about taking over its responsibilities from the feds, then all the blather from Smith or any premier is just that – blather. Easily ignored by the feds because they know Alberta is all hat, no cattle. And Saskatchewan too.

    She thinks 2050 is doable via non-Communist methods like technology and innovation. This is at least somewhat better than “make us all poor and dead” by 2035.

    Also she is likely banking on a Poilievre win in 2025 which will hopefully close the book on all liberal targets for a couple of election cycles.

    If not, she really doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Liberal courts will side with the feds and we’ll all suffer hard.

    1. roaddog, net zero is typical of government math. Yes it would indeed be suicide but those pushing it will also die. CO2 is not a pollutant or a climate driver. Without adequate levels we all die. I am sick to f***** death of attempting to explain this anywhere and everywhere. People are so dumb I am surprised they have enough brain power to breathe.

  6. Correction, in the article it claims Ontario and Quebec will achieve said targets.
    Not even the building at Queens Park will achieve the phoney targets of what they say they are.
    If they where telling the truth, their real goal is creating a communist dictatorship, of which Toronto is well on its way to becoming under Chow.

Smith and PP are still playing in the fed’s sandbox by trying to kick the can farther down the road instead of telling them to shove the whole idea up their collective arses .   8. I’d be excited if her plan didn’t involve going to net-zero by 2050, which is just a hair less retarded. I mean, the difference is 15 years. Good grief, that’s a heart beat in the life of a country. I’m supposed to feel some relief over this? If AB declared independence, I would move there immediately though.

    Newspeak usable phrase, you can slip it into conversation at any time. It gets imbedded into the communication and even people that don’t care or are opposed to it, use it freely.
    It does not have to have a meaning, you can change the meaning as you go along to suit the situation.
    Same with the varied and sundry newspeak words to define lgbtxyz.
    Becomes part of the jargon without giving it any thought or meaning at all.

    That is how brainwashing technique works.

    Now nobody can oppose it because its ‘normal’.

  12. 2050 has the same relevance as PM Harper saying that Canada would have a carbon tax -when the US instituted a carbon tax, that is to say never. By using 2050 Smith is resisting the feds without coming out and saying it. Before then the pain of the ineffectual policy will be evident and it will be quietly dropped. Also by appearing to go along she takes some of the heat off of Pierre and lessens the lib claim that opposition is far right, sexist, racists etc. Smart politics is not a sellout.

  14. I think it’s time, or at least very close to time for we the people to establish a new nation, Northwestern America, Alaska and west Canada, even including B.C. (Except Vancouver, of course, which we’ll demand they keep.).

    2. You’d be hard pressed to find a bigger collection of commies in Canada than what’s in BC and it’s only going to get worse. I don’t want to be in any federation that includes BC.
