One of the set of special laws that only apply to housing.
A person can break into your house while you are on vacation, and as long as they printed up a “lease” you have to follow the landlord laws to get rid of them, even if the lease is fraudulent and they never pay.
In Ontario, that means you can have multiple years of LTB hell, which explains why there isn’t a lot of new rental properties built.
